Sarcosaren
Ok I'm sure that this question was asked before but what is going to happen to the all of the big and small alliances that have been inactive for a long time altogether? (As in the owners have stopped playing CN completely and all activity has ceased)
Bdiah
I'm not sure if you are asking from a mechanics perspective or a practical perspective. As far as game mechanics, alliance ownership is inheritable, meaning that if the alliance owner goes inactive, ownership passes down to a designated heir. From a practical perspective, the process of alliance decay and dissolution due to inactivity has been going on for years now. Raiding still happens frequently in CN and the only things preventing it are: (1) a competent alliance government protecting its members, or (2) a set of AA allies who will protect the members of that AA. If the membership and government of an AA goes completely inactive, just collecting every three weeks, that AA will lose most or all of its allies. Further, if the govt is not around to coordinate protection of its membership, that alliance will inevitably be raided. Eventually, raiding will force the AA's members to either go inactive or to leave the AA for a different, active alliance. My own alliance, VE, has absorbed a few alliances in anticipation of this problem (most notably GOP). Franz Ferdinand
After 25 days of no activity (logging into the game), the Alliance Leader goes inactive, and the game looks for the nation listed as the earliest assigned Alliance Heir, if there is nobody assigned then the alliance is removed from the game and all nation(s) contained within end up with no alliance affiliation. This. It may be useful to some to know that, in the event that your alliance's Owner is AWOL, you can't contact them and you have no Heir, before the alliance is automatically disbanded you can try contact admin to ask for another member to be made Heir. Thanks I kinda wondered if they were absorbed into another alliance or were just deleted or still there just "collecting dust" (aka just become a waste of data space). In fact thanks to everyone who replied I see a much clearer picture on this subject and I definitely understand a little better now.
