Newb Alliance Question

I have searched for an answer to my question before posting; I apologize for taking up time on this forum, but I am somewhat stuck.  I sent a request to join an alliance and I was declined because me country was deemed by the alliance leader as being "too small."  That is all fine, I can certainly accept that.  The problem is that my request is still listed "pending" and my assumption is that I am now unable to try to join another alliance until my initial request is officially canceled by the that alliance leader.  I have sent three messages asking to have the request canceled.  Am I correct in that I cannot join another alliance until the first request is cancelled?  If so, what can I do to force the issue?  The people of Togrador are tiring of pork and would love to find beef through foreign aid.

Well, you tried to join Doombird Doomcave, and yeah they will reject you for being too small for them. You can just leave the alliance affiliation by going to Edit My Nation > Leave Alliance.

Wow.  Thank you, Franz Ferdinand, that was way too easy.  It's as if I called Dell tech support and finding out that my computer issue would be solved once I plugged it in.

No problem, good luck in selecting a alliance whose ideals will align with yours. As a new nation, you'll probably get a bunch of messages in your inbox. The best advice I can give is to research a handful, join their Discords and gauge how their communities are.
