Civil War of Fates: Californian Civil War

The Sides:
Western American Parliamentary Federation: The WCPF is the Rebel movement based in Los Angeles fighting against the California Republic and it's people. The partially-recognized state is headed by an Emperor and assisted by the advisory senate known as the Parliament. The Emperor is the former president of the Republic, David Marxon. This group also has a small group of former senators and representatives acting as his advisory body.

California Republic: The California Republic is the official, sovereign nation that encompasses all of California and has Nevada as a Protectorate. It is a republic and is headed by an executive, judicial, and legislative branches that are supposed to balance the power. The WAPF claims that it is corrupt and ineffective, unable to get anything done in a reasonable amount of time. They fail to get outside support.

The RP:
It was a rainy day today across the streets of a occasionally beautiful city. This was not one of those times. People would huddle inside as the gunfire between the two sides continued throughout the day and throughout the night. The people felt awful, however both sides believed that they were liberating the citizens of this city, and that they would soon be grateful. But the people huddled inside their houses having their ear drums tortured didn't think so. They wanted both sides to leave them alone.

Joseph Deuteronomy was a parliament member and commander of WAPF forces in Los Angeles. Their mission was simple: Drive California forces out of Los Angeles and secure it as WAPF land, as well as the capital of the Federation. Possibly the hardest job for him was distinguishing the WAPF forces from the Californians. He brought a squad of troops up to the Los Angeles capital building, and went in, clearing the building. Him and "Shadow Squad" as he called them broke the windows and set their rifles down in the sill, sniping out enemies. Deuteronomy called in to a helicopter in the air a few miles away. "Your Majesty, I have just taken Building 2056, the Capital Building." on the other end was David Marxon, the claimed Emperor of WAPF. He responded. "Good work Joe. Rendezvous with the rest of the troops at the following coordinates." A couple of seconds later, a couple of bleeps went off and he went by himself to the coordinates.

At the rendezvous, the commander stood up straight and spoke confidentially to his troops. "Listen up! These orders come straight from the Emperor. We are going to get on top of building 432, 50 degrees to our left, and the tallest building in Los Angeles. Once we reach the top, we are going to stake the WAPF flag on the top. Only 7 of us will go on the top. Keep in mind, we will have very little Federation air support, so we are not sure how safe if will be. It is possible foreign support will come in, but there have been no confirmations." The troops marched down to the building, and Deuteronomy saw the problem. When they became a mile away from the building, he received a notification that Republic forces had taken the air space over LA, and it was possible that Federation air support would be none. This would make it almost impossible to succeed. He understood his mission, and continued to advance. Edited by Peter Ilyich

"Why do we care? Let the damn Californians kill each other." President Marco sat in his office, several of his military advisors and Generals around him. "Well, a Regime change in a country that has been so problematic recently could be a good thing. Plus if this little coup of Marxons is successful, they'll be in our debt." Marco thought for a moment. "Very well, you will be given command of the second division for operations in California, aswell as the air assets we have in Mexico. I won't be giving you anything more then that, so make due with what you got." The General nodded "That will be more then enough."

Tijuana, Mexico
Sat Ops had already been watching California, and had noted the locations of radars and air defense positions in southern California. Awacs would move along the border, giving more coverage and looking for loyalist defenses. Artillery and missile systems in Tijuana, Mexicali, and Tecate came to life and began knocking out radar and air defenses. At the same time, three Armored batallions would smash through defenses on the border, and head in the direction of LA.

In the air, two squadrons of F-15s would provide air support for the advancing UCS armor, hitting positions where the enemy has dug in or are grouped together, aswell as targetting hostile armor. Four squadrons of SU-35s would head in the direction of Los Angeles, along with another squadron of F-15s and accompanying EW aircraft. The aircraft would begin jamming enemy radars (if any survived) and communications, while F-15s would pick off any remaining radar and air defense positions. AWACs would travel up the coast of southern California, not far behind the SU-35s. It was determined that most of Californias airforce in southern Cali was currently above LA and likely armed for air to surface operations, making them unprepared when the UCS's SU-35s made its way onto the scene. They would engage the loyalist aircraft with their R-77 missiles, attempting to force the retreat of the enemy and establish air superiority above LA.

(You left so had to make due with the limited info I had.)

The Response:

The California Republic was the first to notice UCS hostility, and quickly sent a message.

UCS-

It has come to the attention of the California Republic, independent and forever reigning, is attacking California soil. This is unacceptable. If this has to do with recent civil war, we suggest you turn back as there is no civil war in LA, but a terrorist group.

As the Californian president, I highly suggest you turn back before you must face the consequences.

Sincerely,

Kevin Collie

Word then spread to WAPF.

We thank you for the support in the air and ground. We will notify you if there are any specifics in which we will require, for now the claiming of LA air space is crucial for the advancement of the Western American Parliamentary Federation, so for that you are thanked.

Lord David Marxon

The RP:

Deuteronomy was both surprised and thrilled to see foreign support assisting the separatist forces in the air. Now that there was assistance, the WAPF air forces would enter back into LA Air Space and engage loyalist forces. On the ground, the forces were determined to reach the building. However, currently in the air, a squad of fighter's were in the air attempting to bring all of LA air space into separatist hands. "Yes, sir we have entered LA. Loyalists are to the left." The squadron then took a tight turn in the direction of the loyalist fighters and began commencing attack. "Evasive maneuvering!" Were the words from the squadron commander, who attempted to sound as fearless as possible in a situation that everyone should be shaking harder than if they had hypothermia. Their battle in the sky would take about 5 more hours to finish.

Meanwhile, the Blue Squadron of the loyalist Air Force was being commanded by Carson Johnson, who before the separatist's attack spoke to his fighter's about the upcoming battle. "Ok, wings, pay attention because I will only say this once. Separatist Air Force is going to come in from the west, attack with a small amount of fighters, and then later send in reinforcements from the south. We want to push back the separatist forces to the west without triggering their reinforcements. Basically herd them like you are a border collie. Any questions? Good, then let's prepare." He was confident that the small separatist force would be unable to defeat a force with almost twice as many people. Johnson then got an incoming message. "Yes, admiral?" He asked. "Hello commander. I feel that you need to know that former California Representative Kevin Collie has been elected interim President until we defeat the seps. Your orders will come straight from him now." was the Admirals rather brief but complicated message. "Understood" was all the commander felt was necessary. Do your job now, ask he questions later was his motto.

The RP:
David Marxon sat in his desk chair comfortably as he waited for the next report. Well, when saying comfortably, it is referring to as comfortable as you could be in Los Angeles. He was in the best-looking room in the building, and when his door was knocked on, he yelled for the person to come in. The man entering was Joseph Deuteronomy, senator and his newest commander. "Sir, when is the senate meeting, am I late?" He asked. Marxon looked am Joseph for a moment, then smiled. "Well, you see, there has been a change in the plans." He hesitated for a moment, as if thinking of what to say next. "Well, why create a parliament, that will be no more different than a senate? All it will do is slow us down, just as the California senate has. So..." He paused for a moment, than stood up and began slowly stepping around and in front of the commander. "The parliament is no more. I am now supreme commander of the Grand Duchy of the East Pacific, and you will refer to me as Grand Duke Roeme, which is my French last name, from which my ancestors faught bearing in the French Revolution. It is an honor to bear the name. Do you understand, General?" Deuteronomy looked puzzled for a moment, then stood up straight. "Yes, sir." Roeme smiled. "Good. now let's wait for our air forces to send the Californians into full retreat. Meet in the conference room in 10 minutes with the rest." The general stepped out of the Grand Duke's room, and laughed a little. "General! It's about time." and made his way to the conference room.

Surprisingly, none of the military leaders cared that Roeme had just claimed himself supreme ruler of the new California. Luckily, thanks to the help of the United Caribbean States, they already basically had all of the State of South California. "Ok, men. You are the best leaders I have, so I want all of you on this. We need to focus our energy on sending troops to the south, and sending them north to claim West California. Central California has already announced they are with us, so if we can get half of the entire nation within the first month of battle. The problem is because we are spreading out, the amount of available forces are going to be cut in half, even with support from Central California.  The rest of the war is going to be tough, with limited forces, but it is not about how many troops you have, but how you use them. Dismissed!" Roeme got the entire meeting done within those couple minutes, and was happy that he was being efficient. This, however, was not the end of the battle in LA.

The California Republic would send a very important message out, for both the loyalists and the separatists. It announced a war for the loyalists, and recognition for the separatists.

By Popular Choice of the People, and Under the New Flag of the California Republic,

]The California Republic has long expected a revolt like the one seen in recent days, but the California Republic is not prepared to give up a nation so important to the well-being of North America, the Pacific, and the World as a whole. As such a choice has been decided upon by the people of the California Republic, long may it reign, and our guarantee of Democracy for the people of the nation, the separatist group gives us no choice but to instill war upon our own people that we have fought so hard to protect. And by approval of Kevin Collie, 3rd President of the California Republic, we hereby point our arms at ourselves in an attempt to protect you, the people of the California Republic. The continued attacks on the city of Los Angeles, or any other city, will not be tolerated by the California Senate or House of Representatives, and any and all men or women involved with the enemy will be charged with crimes against the people of the California Republic, as well as spend the remainder of their worthless life behind a cell door. The Shinjikēto led Naggaroth Pirate fleet continued on its journey, news reports has come in that California was embroiled in a civil war, and Shinjikēto leadership informed them that there was possibly an Imperium carrier group within the region and took precautions to avoid any other masses of ships.

[hr]

Imperium satellite intelligence afforded them the locations of major airbases within Northern California. Consideration went into the same for central California but the civil war meant it would not be immediately clear who was in control of the bases. Instead of potentially harming the partisans it was decided to focus on targets within the Northern section and use the Imperium's aerial superiority to provide the partisans with an equalizer, with the assistance from UCS pushing them over the edge.

The Imperium's air force would set up a staging at Air Station Kodiak, allowing for the 20 B-2A bombers to carry a full load of 320 GBU-39 SDUs, with the 40 B-52s carrying full loads of 20 Apache Missiles per aircraft. they would take off and head southeast. Just before the planes were close to being detected by Cascadia a message would be sent to ensure they did not harm the Imperium's aircraft.

:Encrypted to Cascadia:

In regards to the current civil war that has enveloped California, Her Imperial Majesty has elected to enact a no fly zone over Northern California, Imperium aircraft on their way to enact said policy will be entering your airspace on their way to northern California shortly.

As the Imperium B-2s began to penetrate the California airspace, and the B-52s launched their weapons from beyond reproach, the 1st fleet would launch its own fighters, made up of groups of one E/A-18G to four F/A-18E Super Hornet, prepared for SEAD operations. the 6400 SDBs would target every airport in Northern California, as well as radar stations. the 800 Apache Missiles would compliment the attack, and the 90 A-18s would begin to do the same along the coastline, with the E/A-18Gs committing to jamming radar stations along the coastline while the F/A-18s would work towards destroying them, expecting to meet some resistance, but it was hoped the decapitation strike by the stealth bombers and missiles would remove most of the potential threat from the Californians.

:Public:

"A civil war in California serves to cause disharmony within the Pacific, something I have stood against my entire life. To this end, the Imperium states its intent of enacting a No Fly Zone over California to ensure minimal civilian casualties. While I have no side in this war or personal stake, as a leader I hope the will of the people of California is respected and comes to a speedy resolution."

Her Imperial Majesty, Empress Hoshiko, Daughter of Amaterasu, Prophet of Takamagahara, Sovereign of Japan, Joseon, and Aisu-shō, Grand Cordon of the Supreme Order of the Chrysanthemum, Grand Cordon of the Order of the Paulownia Flowers, Grand Cordon of the Order of the Precious Crown, Grand Cordon of the Order of the Sacred Treasure

Grand Duke Roeme, also known as David Marxon, sent a message to the Imperium.

The need of a Civil War is unfortunate, yes, but I as well as my other members are here to instate a new East Pacific Governing Body known as the Grand Duchy of the East Pacific. We discussed in our previous meeting, we are here to reinstate a perfect government. We hope that once the war is over, the new governing body and East Asia may begin peaceful relations.

Alan ran down the main hallway in the Capital Building, weaving through hallways until he came to main conference room. He bust into the room, all of the ministry heads sitting around the table turned to stare at him. "Well? Brief me." He took his seat at the head of the table. John Linnaeus Minister of War stood, "Emperor, it seems that the Californians have fallen apart and are now fighting amongst themselves. As well, it appears there are two main sides The Loyalists as they are being called and The Separatists being led by one David Marxon," John sat back down as he finished speaking. Alan nodded a few times thinking, "Well what do you recommend John? I have always trusted your judgement." John shifted through a few papers, "I recommend that we move into California and support Marxon. I believe he would be grateful enough to support Texas alongside us." Alan looked around, "Well let us hurry before Marxon is overrun."

Near the Southern Border 4th Corp would be handed orders to go ahead and begin moving into Northern California. The commander of 4th Corp would send an armoured column ahead of the rest of the corp to scout ahead and make sure their advance was clear. Air support would come from bases near the border and would conduct attack runs on know Loyalist locations. The armoured battalion sent ahead of 4th corp would travel down I-5, they would mostly go unharmed as there were no Loyalists forces this far north. Outside of weed they would be engaged by a Loyalists Regiment, the battalions tanks would form a defensive perimeter around the lighter armed vehicles. Heavier fighting would commence when enemy tanks showed up the Cascadian Leopards would decisively defeat the Loyalists Abrams.

Farther down the coast the CNS Portland and the CNS Eva would begin their siege of San Francisco. The ships escorts of a pair of destroyers, six frigates, and a dozen corvettes would sail towards the Loyalist ships, firing off ASMs at the heavier ships. Once in range they would begin to use their naval cannons to decimate the enemy ships. Any ASMs launched at the Cascadians would be countered by Phalanx CIWS or RAM. The LPDs would launch their Ospreys to secure a beachhead for the rest of the landing force which would arrive on amphibious assault vehicles or LAV-25s. Leopards would land on shore using LCACS. The invasion force would make their way throughout the city eliminating any loyalists forces.

The UCS Armor batallions would enter LA and take up defensive positions around the city, determined to defend the separatist capital. With them would come the advanced weapons of the UCS military, which would be supplied to the separatist forces to even the battle field. The remaining forces in the 2nd division would secure a route from the FOB in Tijuana to LA, aswell as move out to repair the damaged radars which had been hit earlier. With southern cali now under sepratist control it was doubtful they would meet much, if any, resistance. Nevertheless, they would be given access to artillery and air support, overwhelming whatever loyalist forces remained. Once radars were brought back online air operations would continue, this time to support the separatist forces in central Cali. The EAI and of course WAPF would be made aware of UCS radar positions to prevent accidental attacks.

A message would be sent to the Loyalists
"We have stood by has, on more then one occasion brought the California Republic to the brink of war. You are now considered a hostile and rouge government, and we will provide the peoples of California the means to put ab end to your inept rule. Surrender and you will be placed under UCS custody to face a fair trial, or you can take your chances with the revolutionaries, who may not be so merciful. The choice is yours."

A message would also be sent to the Separatists
"Our forces have moved into Southern Cali and will keep it secure while you move north. Our airforce ad artillery will be made available to support your advancements, and we will provide you with the military equipment you need to win this fight. Good luck."

The Response:

Cascadia:

It has been a while, but I am glad to see Cascadia fighting alongside the East Pacific. This is greatly appreciated and will be remembered. From what I've heard, General Deuteronomy notified you of his capture of President Collie.

Roeme / Marxon

Cal Loyalists Response to UCS:

Our apologies for having to turn down your offer. We do not negotiate with terrorists, much less terrorists being assisted by UCS.

The loyalists, facing severe casualties, kidnapping of their president and infiltration of their capital, would surrender to the Separatists and form a new Californian State, under a government in which is called a Revised Republic. David Marxon would be crowned President.

THE END, and they all lived happily ever-after. Except for the loyalists. More information soon to come on CBS!
