Xavier Harkonnen
Getting a little ridiculous at how some players are gobbling up land nowhere situated by them, and claiming it as a protectorate. This discourages new players from creating their nation, or meaningfully expanding it. All because a select few just want to sit on it until they think they have story, or dictate to new players how and when players can create nations. Make protectorates valid only to land adjacent to the player claiming. Edited November 5, 2014 by Xavier Harkonnen
Triyun
This seems a little ridiculous simply because I'm asking you to RP ICly your request on those Islands.
Xavier Harkonnen
This is generally speaking. Honestly, im curious as to why people need all that land. Also, im asking for an ooc discussion on your willingness to have an IC story handing them to me. Are you against story planning. Dont read too much into this, bro. Im not going to do a thought out ic story just so you can wave it off with a no. Saves us all some time. The Zigur
Protectorates are stupid unless you legit RP out an invasion and occupation with a measurable chunk of your forces in a realistic manner. I still remember one retard claiming he was protecting white space with "police." Should be able to start ethnic uprisings as well. Horo the Wise Wolf
Make protectorates valid only to land adjacent to the player claiming.Poor logic. Nations have for hundreds of years had Protectorates not near them (such as the British Protectorate over Egypt) and only need to have some manner of enforcing it to be a proper one.You just have to ask the Protectorate holder if you're a new nation who wants to land there, though maybe the Map Thread could make this more obvious. Lysergide
Or, radical idea, just get rid of them.
