Maelstrom Vortex Posted August 9, 2014 Report Share Posted August 9, 2014 (edited) This is formal notice to all global powers that Druk Yul will be initiating an underwater nuclear test in the center of the ring of the unclaimed and abandoned Cocos/Keeling islands in the Indian Ocean. The blast yield will be 5 megatons. Given there are no known occupants of the islands at this time and its ideal position far away from most land masses and prevailing winds and currents moving what little fallout there will be away from the islands, we will begin this test within 24 hours. Please divert any commercial flights from the at least a 50 kilometer radius of passing over the ignition point. An above ground test is usually scheduled once a decade and should not be repeated for some time. The islands will afterwards also be used to study fallout patterns. ##Top Secret, hidden location, bunker, highly restricted access. At Space Com, Maelstrom and King Wangchuck looked at the monitors of all the satellites observing the islands. They didn't mention in the global news reports that they knew exactly who was there with all the activity going on in the region. But on several different monitors they were going to watch the party when hell was lit. Maelstrom grinned toothily. He had chosen a gilded dragon form today, but those green jade eyes, they never changed. "This.. will be beautiful. Lets watch them run. Keep firing til one gets through.. if the first ARES gets shot down, we can always say we thought it was a dud and so tried another warhead. But first.. lets see if this gets their attention." Should not notice any deviance from background levels of REM. The war in Europe was more threatening to us. Sparta is ordering its fleet back towards the Islands at full steam from a previous visit we have. Should this test continue and 600 innocent people be in danger, we will send our courageous men and women to do everything we can to shoot down this missile. She knew what she had done before was wrong and knew this was her one chance to atone for what she threatened to do before. She might not be Empress of Shanghai anymore but she knew she had to do this no matter what. Less than a month ago I also threatened genocide even though it was never carried out and now you seem to be going down that same dark path that I did. Kevin Kingswell Posted August 9, 2014 Report Share Posted August 9, 2014 The Russian Empire finds this news alarming, following recent events in Europe we would have thought that gaining such weapons of mass destruction would be the last thing Druk Yul would want. perhaps Druk Yul feels the need to gain such weapons to feel that they can respond in kind if struck by such means? We are very concerned by the irresponsible nuclear policies of Druk-Yul, which have potential to become a threat to global stability. The ocean has currents, and the introduction of radioactive elements affects us all. Any detonation not properly contained in bedrock is an assault on the health of our citizens, as well as the health of the world. jesbro Posted August 9, 2014 Report Share Posted August 9, 2014 Emperor Jesse and Mei were relieved that Maelstrom listened to reason. Had he not Tiger Squadron would have probably shot down the missiles and anyone else that tried to stop them but luckily it seemed it would not come to that for now. Jesse would tell them to remain on alert in case they did decide to test the missile anyways but so far it looked like the potential disaster was averted. Vedran Posted August 10, 2014 Report Share Posted August 10, 2014 Several environmentalist groups in the Federation have protested to Druk Yul that it should better consider the ecological damage done to the area before proceeding with the test, and perhaps stick to underground detonations in the future.
