Shave N Haircut
To the Governments of Alvonia and Muscovy, It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we invite you to meet with us in Orleans for the discussion of more formalized relations within our sphere of influence, with all of Europe's recent affairs taken into due consideration. This meeting will take place within the Palace at Orleans itself, and it is requested that all due consideration is taken to ensure that whoever is sent understands the gravity of the situation at hand. ~Jeanne de LaQueu, Imperatrice de France
JEDCJT
Dear Jeanne de LaQueu, Imperatrice de France, It is with pleasure that I accept your invitation. Our nations have had yet to further relations beyond our partnership through the European Community, and the time have now come to further formalize our relations. I look forward to meeting with you. Signed, Mikhail Ivanovich Romanov, Tsar of the Russias Edited June 23, 2014 by JEDCJT
Markus Wilding
TO: Jeanne de LaQueu, Imperatrice de France, FROM: The Office of Director Wilding SUBJ: Invitation It is with great pleasure that I will accept your invitation. For too long we have been content with a simply treaty and a partnership in the European Community, and it is far overdue for new discussions on the relationships between our states. I will personally attend and will be on the first flight out of Vienna. Director Markus Wilding
Shave N Haircut
A room was prepared for the meeting in the Palace at Orleans, a rather humble affair as palaces went. It was nothing like that of Versailles, or even la Louvre, but it was good enough for Jeanne. She sat at a medium sized, round table and awaited the arrival of the other two delegates, who would be escorted from the airport and to this room by the primary Aide of the Diplomatic corps. Shave N Haircut
I was so confused when I saw this haha. Do you play France? (Yeah, I'm France, please don't post here? No offense, I know you're new so I'll give ya some slack, but OOC posts in the IC section are discouraged)
Markus Wilding
After a short flight, Director Wilding landed in Orleans and made his way via convoy to the meeting place. Upon being brought to the meeting room, Wilding took a seat and could be seen mouthing out some general French phrases, although to be safe a translator was by his side. JEDCJT
Tsar Mikhail Ivanovich Romanov would arrive at the Palace of Orleans, accompanied by a team of Diplomatic Corps personnel. Upon entering, he would greet Director Wilding in fluent German and Imperatrice Jeanne de LaQueu in fluent French.
Shave N Haircut
"Gentlemen I'm glad to have you here today." Jeanne says, "We've worked very closely together lately, as I'm sure you all know, to ensure the stability of the Russo-European area, though, fortunately, it hasn't taken actual military force yet, but as has been demonstrated by the actions of Babylon and Ukraine, the European Community isn't especially stable. I would like to come to an agreement outside of it between our nations. How do you gentlemen feel about this proposal?" Jeanne leans back and regards the other two coolly. JEDCJT
"It is rather unfortunate that certain, former, members of the EC chose to unilaterally use aggressive military force, thus violating the relevant articles of the Charter, and that the other members were forced to respond in kind. It seems the European Community have not developed a system to adequately deal with violators. With that said, I would be open to your proposal. France have proven itself to be a strong and stable nation in Europe, and we would be interested in furthering relations beyond our current levels." Markus Wilding
"It is a shame that the European Community has not been able to be as...well, aggressive as we in Alvonia had first envisioned it. That said, we are curious and open to this proposal. Inaction is not something that we in Alvonia wish to harbor, and we hope that whatever we can create out of this will put an end to that feeling in Europe." Shave N Haircut
"The problem is that the European Community has allowed within it the instruments of its own destruction, allowed within the organization too many who don't have the goodwill of anyone but themselves at heart. They use it as a shield against reproach for their actions, should anyone within the organization or without it find their actions objectionable. Gentlemen, there are those within the European Community who care not for those within it." "There are too many conflicting interests within the EC to ensure that it can regulate anything, much less itself."
Markus Wilding
"Yes, indeed competing interests are a detriment to the European Community. However, us three cannot hope to gain or sway enough votes to amend or even abolish the European Community." Wilding leaned forward now, folding his hands over each other. "Let's be straight with each other - this meeting has a higher purpose, does it not? We're not here to simply talk about the European Community, are we?" Shave N Haircut
"Of course not." Jeanne says, "So far we've stood against the abominable practice known as Sovereign Socialism in all of its forms as a little group. The three of our nations, it seems, do very well for each other in that regard. What I wish to form is a mutually supportive international intervention force, with the option of perhaps eventually including more likeminded individuals, should we find them worthy of membership. But I don't want this turning into another European Community, paralyzed because it took too many in."
Markus Wilding
"Fair enough," Wilding said. "A question - when you say "international" do you mean Europe-international, or world-international? Not that we in Alvonia have a problem with either. Social sovereignty, in all its forms, must be annihilated quickly and swiftly." Taking a sip of water, Wilding continued, "The next step, though, is not only in finding like-minded members and ensuring they are worthy, but also of what else should be covered. Social Sovereignty, if our intelligence reports are anything to go by, is on the decline."
Shave N Haircut
"It's difficult to place anything else on the list effectively with the many different variants of governance in the world right now." Jeanne says, "We, I am not afraid to admit in private, are a military dictatorship, though a benevolent one. I think in the situation we should limit ourselves to only the most extreme of cases. SocSov was an abomination, surely, but it's not the only thing on its tier when it comes to Nationalism. I think we should avoid being too specific about what our Bloc targets to keep ourselves out of a situation that turns out to be too uncomfortable." JEDCJT
The Tsar was uncomfortable with the idea of an 'international intervention force', although it didn't show on his outside demeanor. "Our nations could cooperate on serious cases relating to any radical ideology such as SOVSOC and similar ones through intelligence-sharing." Markus Wilding
"I still feel we're missing a fundamental part. When we say "international" how broad are we speaking? Europe as a whole, or the world? Until we answer that, then I don't feel we can move forward."
Shave N Haircut
"It depends on how open you gentlemen wish this agreement to be." the Empress says indifferently, "It could be kept in Europe, but it also could easily be expanded past there. With the amount of globalization inherent in the world and the number of connections France has worldwide, I don't think it's entirely necessary to expand it past the three of us." Markus Wilding
After listening to his translator, Wilding turned to the man and said flatly in German, "Get out. You're fired." Understandably confused, the translator looks around the room, then quietly packs up his things and exits. Switching over to his German-accented French, Wilding replied, "Well, Alvonia has no problem with destroying problem nations wherever they may lie. So far, this arrangement is agreeable to us."
