Hungary-Slovakia would be most pleased to meet with Romania. A government representative shall arrive in Romania either later this evening or sometime tomorrow.

We would also be pleased to offer Romania an embassy in Budapest.

Hungary-Slovakia, too, would find a non aggression pact beneficial for both our nations and is quite open to establishing one.

We would also be interested in discussing a mutual trade agreement between our two nations, the possibility of leasing or buying a port by the Crimean Sea, and perhaps even a mutual defense pact, or perhaps even a triangle defense pact amongst our two nations and our friends and close ally Belarus.

 

(Edit: Ah sorry, got Crimea and Romania mixed up there for a second.  Romania still borders the black sea though, perhaps we could talk you into sharing a port with Hungary-Slovakia, or letting us rent, lease, or purchase a port by the black sea?)

Romania would be fine with receiving a Hungarian envoy, to discuss the recent events and to conclude a treaty. We would value the conclusion of a non-aggression pact, so as to recognise the mutual border and make sure that no issues arise in the future that destabilise the peace between our nations.

 

On the request for a harbour, Romania would be willing to sign an agreement for the stationing of your fleet in our country, in exchange for a reinsurance treaty, whereby Romania acknowledges Hungarian interests in all of Subcarpathia, while Hungary recognises Romanian interests in all of Bessarabia and Bucovina. The treaty partners both agree to respect these interests and not hinder the other party from actively pursuing these interests. There is no requirement to actively assist the other, however, neither of us interferes with the other and we both recognise each other's claims. As a lease, we would be willing to let you station ships in Mangalia, though with a restriction to 100,000 tons of displacement and at most 15,000 military personel, due to national security concerns and to prevent too much of an impact on the local population.

 

Additionally, given the tensions with Alvonia, which we view as a serious threat to our security, should it indeed use force to start a war in Central and Eastern Europe, we would be willing to assist the Hungarians defend their country, should the Wehrmacht initiate hostilities. Romania values a cooperative Hungary much more as a neighbour, than a belligerent and clearly imperialist Alvonia.

 

This agreement can be expanded into a triangular defense pact, though we think this would require further deliberation with Belarus. Romania however would be open to a defensive alliance.

We are in agreement with Romania in most everything. However, once we have arrived in your capital we would like to work on expanding the port agreement some.

OOC - me, mr director, and rota ( tongzhi) have been wanting to do a proper Vietnam war rp for some time, and so when that finally gets under way, I may need to send more soldiers via sea don to tongzhi (which is basically Vietnam).

Amidst tensions continuing to escalate, and reports that Alvonia may be mobilizing for aggression, the Prime Minister has once again lowered the Defcon from 3 to 2, put it's military on high alert, and it's airforce is ready to scrambe within 10 minutes if needed.

 

Mobile SAMs have been placed near the Alvonian border, as well as into SubCarpathia, with orders to shoot down any non-Hungarian, non-Belarussian, or non-Romanian  plane or UAV on sight that tries to cross the Hungarian or SubCarpathian borders.

In readiness for any attack or invasion into Hungary-Slovaka, Belarus, Romania, or SubCarpathia, the lead military general in Hungary has ordered a test fire of several short-range tactical missles.

*An Alvonian border guard gets too close to the Hungarian border.  A Hungarian border guards shouts a warning at the Alvonian border guard and fires a warning shot, just one foot in front of where the Alvonian border guard is standing.  The Alvonian border guard then moves back a few feet and no further instances occur.*

It was no secret that wars that started in Eastern Europe had an awful tendency to become global affairs. As the reports from Carthaginian intelligence indicated something was about to happen and that at some point it might very well link back to Carthage the decision was made to make a diplomatic outreach to the parties involved even though they were on another continent. In line with this a message would be sent to the government of Hungary-Slovakia.

To whomever it may concern,

 

War, it cripples economies, destroys empires and leads to the greatest atrocities imaginable. I am convinced that you, just as me, wish to avoid this if even remotely possible. We have recently received word of increased tensions regarding the status of Poland. To aid in keeping the peace the Kingdom of Carthage hereby extends you a formal invitation to attend a conference in Carthage where common ground may be found and a peaceful resolution achieved. If you accept you will be taken care of entirely and you security will be guaranteed by the Carthaginian Defence Forces.

You are indeed correct.  We would like the legal hand-over of Subcarpathia to go as smoothly as possible, and with no aggression nor a single Hungarian, Romanian, Belarussian, or even a single Alvonian, having to be injured or killed.

 

We shall send an envoy to Carthage within the day.   While plans are not completely nailed down yet, we believe the envoy will be Levi Miksa.

A contingent of 300 military personnel arrives in Humvees, JLTVs, and Armored Personnel Carriers at the Subcarpathian border, and the lead driver shows his Hungarian Military ID to the Belarussian guard.  After glancing at it for 10 seconds,the Belarussian military guard stand aside and salutes.  Before continuing on, the driver tells the Belarussian guard.

 

"There will be more of us coming within the day, as well as for the next two weeks.  We have been briefed that their is a military base and a military airfield that has been designated for our use, we'll be heading there straight away.  We expect more soldiers, JLTVS, APCs, Mobile SAMS, SCUDs, short range tactile missles, artillery, military helicopters, assault helicopters, transport planes, aair force jets, and light and medium tanks, will all be making their way here over the next few weeks."

 

*With that, the Humvees, JLTVs, and APCs start back up and continue on into Subcarpathia towards their designated base and airfield.*

The Belarusian soldiers would quickly begin making arrangements for the Hungarian troops, and the Hungarian commander would be given an in-depth briefing of the current situation in Subcarpathia.

This evening the first 100 soldiers of what will be a 20,000, have arrived in Ukraine, as per a shared military base deal between Hungary-Slovakia and Ukraine.

 

Along with them came 3 mobile SAMs and 3 mobile short-range tactical missile trucks.

This afternoon, an additional 500 Hungary-Slovakian soldiers arrived in Subcarpathia via JLTVs, APCs,Chinook helicopters, and Blackhawk helicopters.

Parliament was abuzz today over discussion of Hungary-Slovakia's Monroe Doctrine.

 

The main contention between Parliament members is over what it should properly be called.  Names that were floated were: Monroe Doctrine, Hungary-Slovakia Monroe Doctrine, Hungary-Slovakia European Monroe Doctrine, Eastern European Monroe Doctrine, Eastern European Anti-Imperialism Doctrine, Hungary-Slovakia Eastern European Anti-Imperialism Doctrine, Hungary-Slovakia Anti-Imperialism Doctrine, Eastern Bloc Monroe Doctrine, Eastern Bloc Anti-Imperialism Doctrine, or just the Anti-Imperialism Doctrine.

 

The Doctrine itself was also up for debate, with the Libertarian Party, Adams Party, and Green Party staunchly arguing against having such a Doctrine; the Capitalist Conservative Party and Monroe Party arguing staunchly in favor of the Doctrine; and the Jefferson Party, Communist Party, and Social Democratic Party deciding to Abstain.

2/3rds of the Hungary-Slovakian military has been ordered to stand guard at the Hungarian-Alvonian border and to open fire on any Alvonian that tries to cross the border.

 

All mobile SAM units at the border have been ordered to shoot down any Alvonian plane or helicopter that comes anywhere close to the Hungarian border.

 

The other 1/3 of the Hungary-Slovakian military has been ordered to mobilize into the Subcarpathian region.

 

The military and air force have been alerted to prepare for the possibility of reaching DEFCON 1 at any given moment, should the Alvonia's fire across the border or attempt to invade Hungary-Slovakia's border or airspace.
