The sizable force of soldiers in transports were equally susipicious and it cast doubt on their intentions. On orders from the Ministry of Defence, the CVBG: Grey Wolves were ordered to move between the French and the canal, blocking their access. Tensions were high, and a message was sent to the French commander on an open frequency. "French Fleet, this is the Commander of the Imperial Fleet Grey Wolves, please adjust your course and move away from the canal zone. Such a military force presents a threat to ourselves, and our friends, The Red Sea Republic. This is an official request to change course, and reach your destination by another means. He took the comms, "Commander, this is Admiral Lafitte of the Imperial French Navy, under the standing order of the Egyptian Suez authority any vessel, military or civilian is allowed through the channel so long as they remain identified by nationality. Unless Babylon is claiming the Suez at the present time and nullifying that set of orders, though the Egyptian government itself is null, its orders still stand. We mean no harm to you or your allies and indeed wish only to restore order and sovereignty over an area which we lost with the collapse of the previous government: French Polynesia." "We do, however, understand your trepidation and are willing to allow our naval forces to be escorted through by your own and your airforce to ensure our honesty and integrity as we pass through the Red Sea on our way to our destination. "Admiral Lafitte of the Imperial French Navy, on the orders of our most Holy Emperor, under no circumstances are we to permit you access to the Suez Canal, and by extension of those orders, the Red Sea. Any attempt to force entrance to the Canal will result in a most serious response. I await your decision." As the Kingdom of Axum has declared the entirety of Africa an protectorate, the passing of armed vessels through the Suez Canal will not be allowed at this time. Once the nations of Africa, specifically the Kingdom and the Red Sea Republic, have come to an agreement, specific details will follow. " King Beckwith Classified Having seen that the Suez Canal is about to become a crossroad for various fleets, if something is not done, the Red Sea Coastal Fortress system is put on full alert. The former massive network of underground massive reinforced concrete structures is a shadow of its former glory. It mostly serves to reinforce the Coast Guard by providing long range anti-shipping missile and radar support. None the less, what is left of it, four of the former sixteen bases, is ready to serve. The Northern Kingdom Air Force Squadrons are another story, they go to full alert and immediately prepare to deliver a series of massive anti-shipping strikes. Dedicated roles are assigned to the various squadrons in three categories; anti-air, anti-shipping, and a defensive stance. Artillery brigades serving with the 8th Corp are ordered to be prepared to respond to provide their weight of fire if called upon. Farther to the south, the 7th and 6th Corps and the Kingdom's Middle Region Squadrons are put on a defensive alert with orders to standby for further orders. They announce their presence to the naval forces of the Babylonian Empire and the French Empire, and confirm that they do not wish for any military vessels from the French Empire to move through the canal at this time. Captain Enema Posted May 28, 2014 Report Share Posted May 28, 2014 On order of the Kingdom of Axum navy, a single modernized Kirov Battlecruiser and two Aegis Guided Missile Cruisers are dispatched to take up station at the northern end of the Suez Canal within the international waters of the Mediterranean. The Kingdom of Babylon and the Red Sea Republic are notified beforehand of the Kingdom's intentions to place a long term presence in the Mediterranean for the purposes of providing a visible show of support for the protection of the Suez Canal and other protectorate related duties. Instead, to respond to the Italian warships now patrolling the sea outside Imperial waters in the eastern Med, the fleet would enter the Italians area of operations, with one squadron of F-35's on combat air patrol. They would be aggressive in their formation, speed and course, deliberately sailing close to the Italians, shadowing their every move. The three ships of the Kingdom's Mediterranean squadron would request permission to join ranks with the CVBG Imperial Prerogative. With the request, a list of the Mediterranean Squadron's frequencies and other specifics would be sent to the Babylonian Battle Group's commanding officer to allow him the luxury of making a more informed decision about how to best integrate the three Kingdom ships into his formation should he choose to do so. Those positions would be taken and the Kirov (Modernize) data sharing networks be opened to the Babylonians to cross traffic and distribute data both laterally from ship to ship and horizontally up and down the chain of command. The Kirov (Modernized) are designed to put forth a hellacious tidal wave of missile fire and collate and distribute an equally disturbing amount of data from the Aegis Class Missile Cruisers and other ships providing data. The databanks allocated for this purpose are custom built and contained within a heavily armored and air conditioned vault beneath the waterline deep inside the Kirov.
