The RAS Saint Juvenaly arrived at the Pitcairn Islands eight days after departing New Archangel. They came ashore at Bounty Bay and security teams explored the seemingly abandoned town. After long hours of searching each home, they came upon their first body. It was badly decayed, lying in a bed. A journal was found in the same room, this woman was the last survivor of the islanders, shed buried those that had decided to stay on the island as they had died one by one. She was buried in the islands graveyard with the others. With all of the island explored, the crew returned to the ship. The next day they would head to the outer islands to survey them for the possible construction of an air base and radar stations.

With elections near, campaigning is in full swing. Ranging from rallies and town meetings, to weekly debates and endless political advertising, people all across the country are counting down the days until their lives return to their peaceful normality. However, the campaign trail has not been without violence. Alaskan Social Sovereignty, a local SOCSOV spin off group held a march in Anchorage, draped in Alaskan flags and calling for the formation of an “Alaskan Social Republic” the end of “imperialist domination over Hawaii” and “the end of finance capitalism’s control of the national economy”. The protest turned violent as SOCSOV was confronted by members of Anchorages union movement and several small far-left organisations who claim that SOCSOV is a fascist and Neo-Nazi organisation. Police quickly broke up the violence. Three arrests were made and nobody was seriously injured.

The Military Establishment has determined there need to maintain surveillance of Alaska’s immediate neighbors. While the establishment of embassies is useful in allowing the Signals Intelligence Directorate keep tabs on local media around the world, HUMINT assets are needed in North America to allow the Alaskan Self Defence Force to acquire information about neighboring military assets and capabilities. Any covert agents sent to infiltrate organisations, corporations or governments will require a network of on the ground contacts and support personnel. All Alaskan embassies in North America will also have a military attaché (an officer in service with military intelligence) and a cell of intelligence officers to conduct both HUMINT and SIGINT operations. Their nominal disguise will be as regular embassy staff. These operations will be overseen by a second intelligence body, the Office of Secret Intelligence. In order to root out enemy spies within Alaska and infiltrate subversive ans terrorist organisations, the OSI will include a domestic branch of intelligence officers.

A few weeks after the RAS Saint Juvenaly had visited the Pitcairns, the landing ship RAS Jacob Netsvetov and a team of engineers arrived at the island and began construction on an Air Force base. The base would house a single squadron of Rafale fighters, it’s pilots, ground crews, military police and a detachment of Air Force security personnel. The base will also feature naval gun and air-defence emplacements - some dug into the cliff faces - manned by Naval personnel, and a pier and seawalls constructed in bounty bay to provide shelter and a place to dock for visiting ships. The rundown houses of Adamstown would be refurbished, and new ones built to serve as the accommodation for the personnel and their families. The actual airstip will be constructed on the highest part of the island. To create a flat surface, part of the hill top will be dug away and used to build up other areas. Extra rock and earth will be used from the tunnel digs and concrete is being shipped in.
