Cascadia

After years of wars the American Commonwealth finally fell apart. Different states started fighting each other for land and resources. Alas up in the Northwest three states, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, all banded together to get away from all of the fighting. These three states called themselves Cascadia. Thus a new nation was born! Where it's citizens could be happy under the rule of King Alan the First. In a statement released by the king today he proclaimed this nation free. "People of the world, the citizens of Cascadia are tired of torment from the frail American Commonwealth. Therefore we begin anew! A free people! I King Alan Wymore invite representatives of the new world to our capital of Eugene, to partake in some diplomatic talks. I must go now but I bid thee good day ."

We thank the Imperium of Japan for the recognition so early in our independence. We also share the same though of dialogue.

The king paced in his office unsure of what to do. He had only been chosen as king because of how he saved thousands from the bombs that the American Commonwealth was planning on using on Cascadia during the war. Doing that he had lost his eldest son in the battle. He would never forgive himself for letting his son die. Around his 100th lap there was a knock at the office door. "Come in," he said. An average sized man walked through the doorway and into the office. "My king," he bowed. "The reports came in and the army is 76,423 men strong." The king looked surprised, "That is very good for I thought we wouldn't even reach 40,000." The man would flip to the next paper, "The engineers have begun retrofitting the Leopard 2 tanks and they expect to have 200 ready in the coming weeks." He scanned down the list, "The M198 howitzers have been counted and we have 98 of them." The king sized up the man. "What's your name," he asked politely. The man looked shocked the king would even care. "My name is John Linneaus, your highness." The king thought for a few moments. "How would you like to lead an excursion to the California Republic?"

Linneaus would hand pick 2,500 men for his excursion to the California Republic. The excursion would go off without a hitch. California and Nevada would be incorporated into the Kingdom of Cascadia. Immediately after both of the governors signed the document incorporating their territories into Cascadia, advisors would be sent out to see how the land could be improved. Specialists were also sent to the major cities to help the citizens in the transition from Californian to Cascadian. Currency would be exchanged for a rate of 1=1 for the next two weeks only then it would become 1 Cascadian Mark for 2 Californian Dollars. The Minister of California would become Ricky Fuller. The minister of Nevada would be Seth Mehlert.

With the arbitrary announcement of a new nation based in California, the 2,500 troops would retreat north to Del Norte County. Where the small regiment of troops would camp outside the already turned town of Crescent City. They would create a semi defensive position around the town and the sacred redwood forest where some of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi was filmed.

The king looked at the report of a new nation starting immediately south of Cascadia. "Where did they come from?!" He shouted at no one in particular. "I want Del Norte county defended! No one will dare touch that beautiful forest!" He paced back in forth in front of his desk. "We need to handle this situation delicately. The very last thing we need is a war. Send them a standard welcome along with a copy of Star Wars VI, some beer brewed right here in Eugene, and some Washington cannabis seeds."

Del Norte County, and every single parcel of land in California has been claimed by the Network. We too do not want war, as of now, but we will not let you fester in our glorious forests. I implore you, for your 2,500 soldiers, and the citizens of Oregon's sake that you retreat from California. At once."

The two emissaries are brought into a waiting room right outside of the Minister of Foriegn AFirs Office.

Both emissary's wait patiently to be seen. The Vellasian sits in near perfect posture, his face betraying no sign of impatience or unfocus. The box sits comfortably, and unforced in his lap as his fingers barely hold it in place, as though in deep meditation. The Moashian soldier stands about face of the Vellasian emissary. His hands rest unthreateningly on the hilt of his ceremonial sword, as his eyes focus off onto some distant point on the wall. They both wait there, patiently, quietly, unwilling to disturb their hosts or their surroundings who have been most accommodating in receiving them.

After days of traveling, two NHN emissaries reach the capital of Cascada.

"It was disgusting seeing Cascadian troops in our home land, I do hope we're not left waiting, the more time I spend in this ratchet place, I want to throw up."

"Don't worry, we'll probably be thrown out, showing up, uninvited, and unwanted; especially with what we have to say to his "highness".If he thinks he can appease us by putting weed up for a recreational vote in Cascada, he is crazy."

*Knock* *Knock*

"Daddies home, let us in!"

OOC: Did you really just use slang term ratchet?

The two diplomats would be brought into the office of the Under-Minister of Foreign Affairs. "Hello I'm Jack Saunders, what can I help you with today." He said smiling

"Hello, good, sire. Please, allow me to introduce myself, and my colleague. My name is James, and my friend here is Erik. I'll be blunt, we come here today to implore you to move out of Del Norte, peacefully, del norte is Californian land, and has been claimed in the name of the Network. I want to press upon you the importance of leaving del norte by tomorrow at 4 pm, if there is at least one single Cascadian National within our borders, we will not hesitate to mobilize, and march into Oregon, in the name of the Network. Though if you leave our lands by tomorrow, Oregon will be spared, and we will forget this insolence."

"Well you see, Del Norte County has been a part of Cascadia for the past two weeks much before the network was established. Just as well the 30,327 people of Del Norte decided themselves to join the Kingdom of Cascadia. So if you would like we can hold a referendum for the people to decide what sovereign nation to be apart of. My guess is as good as your in saying that neither of us want a war.

OOC: I increased the population of the county from 28,610 on purpose. Also if you look at the world map it's a disputed territory so technically it's neither of yours.

"There shall be no referendum. Have a good night, because tomorrow, you will lose a lot more than del Norte."

Not scared of new horizon but worried for the people of Del Norte the 23rd Regiment would be pulled from Del Norte.

*classified*
The Cascadian standing army would be increased to 100,000 troops. Which are split into four corps of 25,000 each.

This is good news! I am glad you came to your senses.

Minister Winkelman hurried out of her office to greet the two emissaries. "Hello! And good afternoon gentleman! If you'll come with me we can discuss anything you would like." She gestured to her office.

The Vellasian Emissary inclined his head, and was a little perplexed on the potential developing situation. The Vellasian was followed closely by his compatriot, who would have then been followed by the minister. The Vellasian, familiar with the roles filled by those within the Cascadian government, knew that Minister Winkelman was not whom they were expecting to see. In fact, if memory served, Minister Winkleman was no one whose name was on the dossier the Vellasian was given to expect. The Moashan, on the other hand, was puzzled they were being received by a woman.

With all due respect, the Vellasian said once both he and his compatriot had settled in the office, we were expecting to see the King. The contents within this box are for him and him alone, and the revealing ceremony is as well for his own entertainment. We are forbidden to let this gift pass from our hands to anyone else.”

The Vellasian looked around the room, creating a spell of awkward discomfort before adding, we would be more than happy to wait, while you inform him of our arrival. Our correspondences with him had been sent some time ago, and so our reception is appointed. If we have come at a time such that his presence cannot be afforded to us, we also understand.

The Vellasian stood and the Moashan was at attention, as both made no motion to leave, but the option was fairly close to being decided.

However, our government leaders may not view our return with the King’s gift in a positive light, and relations would be detrimentally hampered, despite our esteemed appreciation for your King’s recognition of our sovereignty.

The Vellasian stood looking into the eyes of the minister, his gaze unwavering. Indeed, there was a great concern in his eyes that was never betrayed by his face. Perhaps the minister could see that, behind the calm, attentive posture, his collected appearance, there was a great fear of his returning home after a failed diplomatic endeavor. For though a Vellasian is understood to be inherently empathetic towards the cultures and tendencies of the world outside of Aurora, it is not necessarily true that any other Auroran would be equally as forgiving. The orders to all the Vellasians chosen on these diplomatic forays was the highest governing official, or no one at all (and they shouldn’t even bother coming home if the box was tampered with by any other hands than theirs). And so the ultimatum for the minister was as such,

Therefore, Madam, it is of paramount importance our reception is held by the King himself, or we must be forced to return to our home with the severest, and most tragic of news.
