Spheres and Power

Aztec are moving quickly but its unwise to be moving to their side and committing yourself to their agenda. Many political masters are in Polardoxia so I wouldn't bet on a horse yet.

There is no stopping our agenda.

Interesting look at things but I agree with Auctor that not all the alliances up there project a ton of power. You're also missing a set NPOsphere, which I think is one of the most powerful in the game right now. (Let's arbitrarily call it NPO, NG, AI, TPF, NSO, US and C&G, or something along those lines. I'm sure it can be modified, just giving a general idea.)

I don't DBDC is in anyone's sphere of influence.

I like this one.

NPOsphere as you call it just lost a global war and surrendered (all except AI which fought with NPO but did not have to surrender). Hard to envision them as the most powerful this week, when earlier this month things were so grim.

Took a lot of planning to take them down though is what I was getting at. power in isolation =/= necessarily winning a global war... unless, of course, you believe the most powerful few alliance/s are always on the winning side of the war, which Karma, Bi-Polar and EQ all speak against.

Interesting, although I have the sensation that there are many possible lists of "spheres". Most "spheres" can also bring other ones depending on how cards fall in specific situations, thus such a static analysis can't actually give a faithful picture of the current state of the balance of power.

I find the idea of a "GPA sphere" funny. Having a "power sphere" means that you can project that power, but the GPA will not fight any non-defensive war, and the GPA government that attempted to be aggressive wouldn't last much.

Secretly we're in the Stewiesphere.

Was I the only one who was hoping that Targaryen had quit?

You're not the only one, and not because you're too nice. I'd rather not have to read useless posts like this one of yours, TBQH. Remember that active posters never ever harmed CN no matter how many people disliked the content of their posts.

I think IRON, Fark, and Polar spheres here are inflated. Easiest way to deal with your double counting error for alliances is to scale each number by the number of spheres you are including each alliance in for a given sphere. For example, I imagine Fark counts for Polar's sphere, R&R's sphere and for IRON's sphere. You would scale Fark's numbers by 4 and use that in your sum. Ideally you'd weight OD vs. MD as well, but every alliance considers those to have different value. Naively, I'd think TOP doesn't share it's power base with nearly as many other spheres based on my memory of the treaty web.

I think it would be interesting to see the Duckroll and CnG blocs cozy up a little. This most recent war kind of set the groundwork for it with Anarchy Inc, NPO and CnG fighting on the same side. I don't think IRON were to excited to be on the side they were and if they felt NPO deserved punishment without dragging them down for how EQ was handled, that is done with now. (This is assuming of course IRON's allies will forgive them fighting on the other side of the war, which I guess they have if the treaty is still in place)

I think the threat of CnG, Duckroll, NG and NPO aligning into a powerful sphere is why many wanted NPO under restrictive terms to limit their future capabilities. Since IRON was on their side they couldn't exactly put IRON under terms. Despite cancelling their treaty with NPO, IRON still has it with Anarchy Inc. So that core which made equilibrium happen could end up fighting another together.

Also Co-Prosperity.. lol? RIOT got hit by a rogue and noone else in that sphere helped them.

EDIT: Also you nkow as well as me that SL doesn't fit in DL at all. They go with NSO.

DL (well UCR) fractured into like 3 alliances post war because they couldn't agree on FA.

That was an odd situation. We didn't really ask for help in any case. (In fact I'm pretty sure we asked them not to do anything).

If you think that NPO's political power wasn't a major part in the fact that that war wasn't just three alliances taking a hit, you're delusional.

I think NPO's political power was effectively shattered by the effective execution of the Disorder War. They will continue to dominate NPOsphere proper, but I don't think it will lead a coalition anytime in the near future. That's why all the imperialists are looking to DBDC for leadership. Effectively switching from Pacifican neo-imperialism to DBDC's brand of hierarchical imperialism.

One rogue? You're right, that should have been a catastrophic event in our sphere! I'm surprised we didn't even look for outside help on that.

On topic: looks like you had fun with this, Ogaden. Good job. I got no criticism, but that may be because I'm not all that interested in these groups. But I do hope they're all having a good time :)
