Centurius
By the time the rebel movement presented itself the Coast Guard and Air Force had already surrounded it while the Army had moved in to secure a fair bit of the island. At the same time Imperial Intelligence had been continuously present on the island after it gained independence to track sentiment and provide reliable intelligence back home should the need ever be there. While unable to provide intelligence on the location of this 'government', despite their best efforts to secure it via informants, they had been relatively successful in properly measuring sentiment. Intelligence assets in the field estimated there were several thousand supporters of this Alamin movement, a large part of which centred in the north of the island. Now it was time to move to the next stage, the Air Force and Coast Guard would be reinforced by additional squadrons from the mainland and the Expeditionary Strike Group Task Force 8. A full no fly zone was established and all ships attempting to leave the island would be intercepted by aircraft or ships. A message would be broadcast on the island. People of Cyprus, You are once again part of the Athenian Federation. Due to the rise of a terrorist movement we have been forced to close off your airspace and block your ports. Avoid the need for a ground operation to track down and arrest these rebels that would resist the Megale Autokrateira. Report anyone you suspect of rebel activity to the authorities and we shall take swift action to restore peace and order to the island. Throughout Nicosia and other cities thousands would start flying the Athenian flag again showing their loyalty to the Federation.

Sarah Tintagyl
"One would think to at least manage the declaration of a new government, to see if the elections are viable, to see if these new leaders could actually work for the people, instead of bringing them back into the Athenian fold. All throughout the records of the United Nations debate, we see constant argument about desire for individualism across the world. Yet now, everyone calls this an unlawful rebellion. The Empress of Athens, as we know, is a benevolent and blessed leader. Surely, she would not hastily condemn, people who once sought her protection, to death. Aquitaine pleads to the great Ariadne of Athens, guide these people, as you guided us." -Viscountess Jacqueline Aymeri

We have no accounts of any elections having been held anywhere in Cyprus. While the independence of peoples is of course of priority to the Athenian Federation we cannot give recognition to every fringe movement. We must also object to the implication the Athenian Federation would execute her own citizens. In line with the constitution and law those responsible for the movement shall be detained and brought for trial in which the maximum sentence is a life sentence of hard labour. The Hellenic Forces will only use deadly force if threatened by it first." -Charon Karagounis, Magistrate of Internal Affairs
