As part of an ongoing effort to further the causes of the Polish scientific community, the Polish government approved partially helping to fund the purchase on the global market of two medium-sized cargo vessels by Orbital Mechanics' Nautical Division. By bringing the Polish government into the fold by funding the project, Orbital Mechanics also allow for Polish government projects to do with the ocean to be conducted on board the vessels. To prepare the vessels for their tasks at sea, which featured a bit of modularity manufacturing, the vessels were brought to a small, sleepy town of Royan in Aquitane, on the Bay of Biscay.

With the permission of Aquitane's government, which had been secured in some low-level diplomatic communiques, the two vessels would take on Polish technicians who would work with local contractors to renovate and remodel the vessels in a relatively quick fashion. The two ships, Copernicus and Curie were to be floating laboratories, cornerstones of Polish marine biology and maritime science that could conduct several types of expeditions at once. They were not only expected to perform maritime experimentation, but also were equipped with modular features that would assist them in the testing of launching test rockets for Orbital Mechanic's space program, whilst at sea.

After much deliberation in the Polish National Assembly, the government has appropriated funds to the Ministry of Defense to organize the creation of three divisions - the 1st and 10th Armored, and the 2nd Infantry Divisions. The notion behind creating the divisions being that these units were to serve as the "strong arm" of the Land Forces, complementing the various brigades that could be attached or detached at will. The funding would also serve to create the I Polish Corps formation, which was to have a headquarters element, along with corps-level support units that could be also be detached or attached at will, with a rotating basis of units to draw upon.

To form the divisions, three existing brigades would be placed directly under the operational control of the divisional headquarters, whilst three more would be raised to give the divisions another brigade. The 1st Armored Brigade would be fused with the newly-raised 19th Armored Fist of Iron Brigade to form the 1st Armored Black Hussars Division. The 10th Motorized Cavalry Brigade would be molded along similar lines to newly-raised 12th Armored Steel Eagles Brigade, to form the 10th Armored Straszny Wilk Division. Last but not least, the 2nd Infantry Division was to be raised utilizing the 2nd Infantry Brigade and fresh-out-of-training 22nd Infantry Spade Dragons Brigade.

The newly-raised divisions were considered to be "heavy" formations, given the firepower that the units themselves possessed, but added upon additional support units that were added to the divisional organizational tables. This would include a regiment of combat engineers, artillery that would include MRLS systems, a strategic-level air-missile defense detachment, logistical and evacuation facilities, an attack helicopter battalion, and other support forces. As aforementioned, these forces would serve as the offensive might of any Polish war plans that would require large-scale conventional ground warfare to complete.

After some low-level bureaucratic discussions between the Athenian Exarch of Africa and the Polish mining firm KGHM Polska Miedź, the latter has begun the process of starting work in the Athenian African Protectorate. Much of the work that KGHM has invested in, will be in Southwestern Tanzania, known for its reserves of various metals which will be harvested by local workers working for the corporation. The corporation is expected to invest millions in improving infrastructure in the region, whilst it operating in Southwest Tanzania, and it has already begun the process of surveying existing defunct facilities or ones that it can form partnerships with.

As part of the deal that was struck with the Exarch of Africa, KGHM has stringently assured both the Exarch's administration, as well as local protectorate officials that labor laws will be rightfully followed. The corporation has been one of the safest in Poland, and its record has been quite stalwart in striving towards ensuring a safe workplace. The corporation has also announced that it is expecting to pay a certain percentage of standard taxes on operations and profits that can be re-invested by the protectorate for the upkeep of regional governance.

In a press release a KGHM spokeswoman stressed that, "We look forward to this unique opportunity to branch into southern Africa and provide employment to Tanzanians in a safe workplace that will provide a natural stimulus to the region."

As part of an increasing effort by the Polish Ministry of the Interior to provide security against asymmetric threats, the Polish State Police announce the construction of the Solina International Counter-Terrorism and Special Response Facility. The facility, on the shores of Lake Solina, are to provide multiple scenarios and ranges for competitive skill honing and marksmanship, for the State Police's GSIP or "Special Police Intervention Group". The facility is not only designed to teach, but also maintain skills in various roles that any and all Civilian and Paramilitary Police Forces should be well versed in.

The facility is not only to be utilized by Poland's police forces, but are also open by request to all governments throughout the world who wish to utilize the unique international aspect to train individuals in counter terrorism and security roles. Arrangements can be made for single individuals, small groups, or whole squadrons, who will be allowed room and board while partaking in training and skills. The facility is run by an oversight team from the Ministry of the Interior, Ministry of National Defense (formerly the Ministry of Defense), and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the last group will be responsible for handling foreign police and paramilitary forces which are sent.

In a statement announcing the construction of the facility, an Interior Ministry spokesman stated, "The facility is part of showing Poland's complete commitment to opposition of extremism and terrorism and other threats to national sovereignty. By opening this facility to other nations' police and special response teams, we show our commitment to increasing cooperation in opposing extremism throughout the globe."

It is expected that the facility will also be closed from time to time for Poland's Special Forces to train alongside units like GSIP.

The Polish Land Forces has announced the creation of the Polish National Militia, which is to act as the country's standing army reserves to the current regular army formations. As part of appropriated funding in the National Assembly, the Polish National Militia is to have a force that numbers at approximately two hundred thousand reservists. These reservists will be organized into brigades according to their geographic region within the nation.

The reservists of the National Militia are to be trained much the same way as the regulars, with a nine week introduction training, alongside a three week specialization training that will be conducted after that. After training, all reservists are expected to remain in trim physical shape, with stringent tests that are conducted during a weekend training every month that will test their continued stamina and strength. Reservists are expected to train at their district firearms range every month, which will keep their combat arms skills honed. Reservists will also receive bonuses and sometimes tax exemptions if the also complete a bi-monthly combat training regime.

Reserve formations are to be armed in a similar fashion to the regular formations, with reserve armor and mechanized battalion groups raised to complement regular mobile land forces. Several reserve units will be comprised of infantry forces, or specialized troops that include construction engineers, artillery, military police, and especially air defense detachments that will serve alongside regular Land and Air Forces units.

Complementing the development of the Marzanna Advanced Stealth Interceptor, PZL-Swidnik has begun serial production of both the Berkut Stealth Fighter, a highly-agile, high-capability multirole fighter and the fast, agile, and stealthy Svarog Tactical Bomber. Both aircraft have undergone significant testing at Air Force Base Modlin, where they have been kept, when not flying, under guard in hangers. As per security details, the aircraft have only been on the flight-lines and tarmac when they have been cleared of all personnel not associated with their development. Public sightings of the aircraft have only consisted of a few low-resolution camera shots by long-range aviation enthusiasts, that give little detail to the aircraft themselves.

Although not as stealthy and advanced in its design as the Marzanna, the Berkut multirole is more agile than its more advanced cousin, the aircraft's engines not as heavy, but its airframe more conducive for high performance maneuvers. Featuring three-dimensional thrust vectoring, and a streamlined airframe, the aircraft is a testament to Poland's design teams. The Berkut is similar to its cousin by way of its sensor apparatuses, which are built into the skin rather than a nose cone, which allow it a full three-hundred sixty degree view of situational awareness from its powerful multifunction scanned array radar. Added to this are targeting pods and a distributed electro-optical scanning array, which are powerful enough to scope in on ballistic missile launches at up to eight hundred nautical miles if horizon and weather conditions are correct.

The fighter is also designed to carry an electronic warfare suite that gives it much the same features of the Marzanna, in its ability to cancel out or modulate radar frequencies, or create false returns. Standard advanced chaff and flares, along with towed decoys and/or launched externally mounted lightweight conformal drones which are designed to give radar returns as large as its parent aircraft, give the fighter a powerful array of countermeasures to rely upon. Along with a cockpit and pilot interface that is designed to give the pilot complete situational awareness to inbound or nearby threats in an intuitive manner, the Berkut is a powerful foe to tangle with.

The airframe is built out of composite material designed to give strength whilst performing highly-agile maneuvers, whilst reducing or warding off radar returns. The materials utilized were specifically designed and engineered to reduce air-friction heat production, whilst promoting a smaller radar signature, and making the aircraft a tough foe to track and lock on to.

Able to mount external and internal weaponry, the aircraft also has a magazine launched short-range-air-to-air missile as well, the internal weapons bay can carry up to eight small diameter bombs in tandem stacks. Add to this a directed energy microwave emitter, and an automatic cannon, the aircraft is expected to be a heavy hauler that will provide most of the close air support for the land forces.

PZL Swidnik has announced the inclusion of look-and-shoot missile capabilities for all missile-carrying aircraft, allowing air-to-air missiles to lock by utilizing the pilots' helmet mounted display, or the E/O array on the aircraft itself. This capability, coupled with better missile stress construction, to enable high-g-force maneuvers, allows for targets that are located behind the aircraft to be engaged at will. These upgrades will be available for use on all air-to-air missiles, including already-manufactured models with a small conversion kit and stress kit. The inclusion of this ability will essentially make no area, back, side, up, down, or front, safe from possible engagement around a Polish Air Forces' fighter aircraft or missile truck.

Polish Leader marks One Year of Independence

As part of celebrations marking a full year of the independence of the Fourth Republic, Lech Sikorski marked the festive mood with a televised statement made from the Polish Presidential Residence in Warsaw. Interspersed with pictures of diplomatic engagements throughout the globe, urban renewal in Warsaw, citizens going to work, the Polish Armed Forces on maneuvers, and other iconic photographs, Sikorski would speak on the condition of the Polish state and affairs abroad. The address, as commented on by several columnists and political analysts, is a testament to the Polish leader's desire to inform the citizens of the nation on the state of affairs for their home.

"One year ago, I stood outside this very same residence to tell you that an accord had been produced, that our homes were to be our own, Poland was to be independent. After a full year of independence, I can't begin to explain to you how proud and moved I am by sitting before you here, and marking this first year of our sovereignty. However, this move towards independence could not have been possible without the desire in your hearts, in the hearts of all Polish citizens, to be able to call this nation our own, a shout that rang out in the night, a triumph of modern politics that would ensure you were equally represented in this world."

"A world that I had the pleasure of visiting many nations thereof, a world where we have seen acts of hospitality and generosity extended towards our government and our people. This is a world that is ever shrinking, that is getting closer together as a whole, a world of progress and ingenuity that is ever moving forward. But as the world gets smaller, more interconnected, more closer together, we must remember that we all still have a place in it, and that is what this nation did when we declared our independence. As you have your homes and apartments and spaces of living, our people as a whole carved their own place in this small world."

"This world is a place of both uncertainty and opportunity, we see and experience many upheavals in far off places, and it makes us grow wary to it, but at the same time, how much of a concern is it to us? Many feel emboldened about events abroad, but while we feel the need to act, we also feel the will to stay ourselves to prevent such conflagrations from spreading. Conflict spurs further conflict, and while we all strive towards global peace, we must also admit to ourselves that there may always be a place for conflict in humanity. But where we also see conflict abroad, we see opportunity in other places, opportunity for the Polish people, with the spirit of entrepreneurship and a free market backing us, to leap forth into. We can never back away from that spirit, nor will I allow it during my tenure as your President."

"The spirit of Poland lives in her Armed Forces, who perform the most basic task of a nation itself - protecting her people's sovereignty and interests. I could not speak tonight without mentioning the brave men and women who stand watch over our country and communities. Your service will never be taken for granted, our brave warriors, many of whom walk their posts at this hour, without being in the comfort of warmth, you who put your lives on the line every day. I urge every Polish citizen, if you see a member of your armed forces, if you know someone, give them your thanks tomorrow, give them your thanks when you can."

"Our nation will strive on into the future, as my second year as President begins, I assure you that my government, the members of the national assembly, will work hard to continue to ensure your safety, stability, and growth. Schools and universities will continue to see national funding from the treasury, we will work hard to ensure that all students are equally engaged in the classroom. Whatever initiatives are needed to do so, will be done, whatever improvements need to be made to the healthcare systems, will be made, the government does not serve itself, it serves you, the people, we were elected to serve you, and we will continue to do so."

"May our second year as a nation be as prosperous and successful as our first, I bid you good night."

With a load of scientific equipment and two helicopters flown in by the Polish Air Forces, the two converted research vessels, Copernicus and Curie would depart the sleepy Aquitane port of Royan for international waters in the North Atlantic. Copernicus was playing host to the two helicopters in a purpose-built aircraft hanger, whilst also being loaded with a host of test rockets designs for the aerospace corporation Orbital Mechanics. Curie was carrying its own load of equipment that included autonomous and manned submersibles, designed to perform experiments on undersea vents at great depth.

Both ships would fly under the Polish flag, and were registered to Warsaw, and had a crew made up of private Polish mariners, alongside a group of researchers from Orbital Mechanics, and graduate students and professors from a number of universities. The Polish Air Force also had a small unit on board, to help with the launch of the rockets that were to be tested in the North Atlantic. It had been judged that these rockets would be best tested out over large expanses of water, where if they needed to be self-destructed, any pieces or debris would fall over open areas. The helicopters were to help provide scouting and track the progress of the rockets.

As part of a routine training exercise, one of Poland's new strategic airlifters was tasked to run a resupply mission for Poland's two new research vessels on their maiden voyage. This was to test the capabilities and skills of the two Polish Air Force helicopters that had been embarked on the Copernicus. The catch to the "routine" mission, was that the resupply would not be all actual supplies, but a group of two eight-man long-endurance reconnaissance teams from JW GROM.

Filing a routine flight plan with the other nations of Europe it intended to cross over and its purpose, minus the inclusion of the highly-trained special operators, the aircraft took off from Krakow and headed westward. The flight plan would take it over Central and Western Europe, breaking out into the Bay of Biscay, before rendezvousing with the two research vessels near the in the far reaches of the Western Approaches and dropping its cargo. The mission would not only test the endurance of the aircraft, but its capabilities, along with the capabilities of Poland's armed forces, giving them a unique opportunity to train in a maritime environment.

If all went according to plan, the aircraft would air drop its "cargo", which would then be retrieved by one of the helicopters and brought back on board Copernicus for debriefing and further training.

Public - Security

As offered to the UN Security Council, the Polish Standing Contingency Task Force has dispatched a group of twenty personnel to Dublin, Ireland, to assist the Irish government with increasing competency within the Irish internal security. The task force is comprised with mostly experts and technicians, essentially support staff to advise Irish police forces on improving internal security. The team was also accompanied by examples of equipment that could be used to help establish effective, legal surveillance for police forces.

Much of the training and support that will be offered by the Polish State Police will be in the fields of establishing effective security cordons, background checks, surveillance, and profiling techniques. As much of the incident that was experienced in Ireland had to do with unauthorized personnel gaining access to military-grade weaponry, the team will seek to improve security in these areas. The State Police advisory group will establish effective techniques to surveilling and securing military-grade weaponry, establishing multiple levels of security access, including individual key code access, as well as advising multiple fail-safe systems on weaponry.

Furthermore, given the culprit of the incident was a public figure, administrative and expert criminal profilers would suggest to their counterparts to establish a system of background checks for public figures to submit to before holding public office. The team would be on hand in Ireland for "as long as it was required", and "if needed, a second unit would be rotated in after three months" to replace the original team, to continue Poland's commitment.

As part of an effort to expand the Polish Land Forces, the General Staff has raised three fresh divisions, utilizing reserve forces to form part of these units. It has been decided to make these formations semi-reserve ones, with one brigade of the division made up primarily of reserves, whilst the other is made up of regulars of the standing forces.

The newly-constituted units are as follows;

 • 1st Grenadier Division [23rd Infantry Brigade (1st & 2nd Wielkopolska Grenadier Regiments), 29th Infantry Brigade (32nd Torun Grenadier, 56th Airborne Infantry Regiment)]
 • 12th Armored Division (8th Uhlans Brigade, 16th Uhlans Brigade)
 • 18th Infantry Division (28th Infantry Brigade, 34th Infantry Brigade)

These units would be formed much like the other divisions that had proceeded before them, and were expected to be the heavy forces of any Polish strategy that involved defending the homeland or otherwise.

As part of an effort to extend both its ability to protect itself, as well as contribute to the overall defense of its European neighbors, the Fourth Republic has commissioned its newest over-the-horizon radar systems. This radar system, with a series of transmitters and receivers spread throughout the country, is expected to provide three-hundred sixty degree early warning detection capabilities. These will be supplemented by mobile long-, medium-, and short-range air warning systems, including radar and high definition infrared photo-detectors, able to process millions of pixels in seconds to pick up on infrared anomalies.

Utilizing a multistatic array, with lower transmission frequencies around 600kW, the system provides an element of anti-stealth capabilities with its multi-receiver arrays. The system will also contribute to defense against cruise missiles, ballistic missiles, and other threats that could be dealt against the Fourth Republic. During the testing phase, the system was able to detect a test missile launch by the research vessel Copernicus, in the middle of the North Atlantic, and given Poland's relevant geography, the system is quite effective out to a long range.

The OTH radar is expected to operate a number of active transmitters, including two mobile units, whilst retaining a few reserve units that can be brought online to compensate for a loss of transmission. The Polish Land Forces are also beginning to employ a monostatic array, capable of detecting most conventional and some unconventional airframe designs out to a range of a thousand kilometers, which is field-deployable and able to be operational within six hours of AOS (arrival on site).

As these installations are considered vital to Poland's national defense, defense priority is given to Poland's early warning systems. Anti-aircraft, and anti-missile defenses are prevalent around approaches to these installations, and static defenses are deployed including camouflaged anti-missile cannon-missile-direct energy weapons to suppress multiple weapon attacks. Processing and air defense coordination centers for these facilities are linked to these facilities via high-data-transmission fiber optic cables, and are located in nearby locales. The Polish Air Forces also maintains on site maintenance and repair teams that stock spare parts and electronic components in hardened facilities close to the sites.

The Polish OTH radar system is also to be supported by the Tripwire Aerial Defense Network, which is expected to be put into full commission within the next week after the OTH network is calibrated.

The introduction of the Polish OTH grid, comes amidst an expansion of the Polish Air Force, which is expected to expand its number of regular air combat squadrons to a total of thirty-two, along with a creation of a reserve of eight squadrons. Squadrons of tactical bombers are expected to increase to a total of twelve, with a reserve of four. Expanded air force facilities and the stationing of some unit detachments at secure locations at municipal air strips has given the air force the capability to continue this expansion trend. Air base security has been exponentially increased as well, with secure locations of weapons and fuel bunkers built by tunnel boring machines to mask their true locations at the base.

In a statement praising recent diplomatic advances, President Lech Sikorski has announced after a long session of the National Assembly, with both houses in attendance, that all recent diplomatic treaties have been ratified by the Polish National Assembly. Sikorski hailed the efforts of not only his Foreign Minister, Wadislaw Maczek, but also "all members of the foreign service" and "elements of the military involved in the transport of diplomats throughout the world". He exclaimed that the "professionalism" showed by the diplomatic service was setting a "role model for other foreign ministries worldwide", with their efforts to open Poland to the world.

The President also announced the offering of official embassies to Poland's international partners in Warsaw, with government-appropriated buildings in Warsaw's government district. Currently, the various embassy locations that have been offered to is as follows; Tianxia and Dai-Tohoku have been offered neighboring embassies on Foksal Street. The Greater Sith Empire has been offered an embassy location between Wislana and Gesta Streets, while Ireland has been offered a location between Tamka and Zajecza Streets.

Sikorski's announcement comes amid the aftermath of an abortive attempt at diplomacy with Prussia, where Sikorski walked out of a meeting with the Prussian Chancellor and his Foreign Minister. Although the Foreign Ministry has said that information on the meeting shall remain "sealed as a professional courtesy for the time being", leaks have pointed to words were exchanged between Lech Sikorski and Julian Muller. The Polish Ultranationalist political sect, First Poland, has called for information on what went on to be released, and a few of its politicians pressed the President during the session of National Assembly to reveal details of the meeting. The leader of First Poland, Vlad Tusk, has said that "from rumors of what has happened over this incident, I am aware that discourteous words were said by the Prussian leader, words that should not be leveled towards any other diplomat."

Tusk has suggested to his followers to "boycott Prussian goods and services" over the incident, a call that was not responded to by the national government nor the Office of the President. A spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry reiterated that calls for release of transcripts over the meeting will not be made public for the time being, and that Poland is "reviewing its regional foreign policy" after the incident. President Lech Sikorski played down the incident, and said that "professional differences and viewpoints are part of foreign politics", but has said that the abortive diplomatic meeting raised "concerns over regional differences" that are "troubling".

The system is being commissioned alongside Poland's new navigational beacon system, POLNAV which is expected to provide Poland's air traffic controllers with a more effective beacon system. Emitting long-range, medium powered signals to provide guidance to aircraft, it will provide fixed beacon assistance to military and civilian aircraft. In emergency situations, the beacons can also be utilized instead of GPS systems, which can be adversely effected by weather systems. This is especially important to civilian medical transportation helicopters traversing the Polish countryside, that have to be able to fly in bad weather.

As part of Poland's dedication to the defense of its airspace, and by extension, its entire sovereignty, the Polish Land Forces have begun the process of integrating a new class of electronics into the Polish Land Forces air defense network. These units, alongside fixed and mobile Air Forces early warning equipment, are expected to give the Polish Land Forces to counteract and interdict anti-surface operations. Alongside these upgrades, Polish Land Forces units will also receive ground surveillance equipment, as well as equipment for counteracting ambushes and rocket fire on vehicles. These equipment procurements are expected to, like the radar equipment, provide Polish units with an edge on situational awareness and an unprecedented view of the battlefield.

The first, most important upgrades that have been applied to Land Forces units are the Eagle Eye Short Range 3D Tactical Air Defense Radar (TADDAR), and the MasterOptik Advanced Tactical Acquisition Radar (ATAR). Both systems are solid-state L-Band radar systems, with the ATAR system featuring AESA elements, and a range against contemporary fighters out to one hundred ten kilometers, as well as low-RCS equipment. Both systems are easily broken down in minutes and able to adjust position quickly, especially if mounted on vehicles, and can be integrated by secure datalink requiring requisite rotating authentication codes to an air defense network to increase effectiveness. Highly adaptable against contemporary countermeasures, they are typically found in cohesion with air defense units, and are well protected.

Similarly, these radars are joined on the battlefield by the newly introduced, S-Band-equipped Voyeur Long-Range tracking radar. Able to track up to five hundred targets with its pulse-doppler, digital beam-forming apparatus, it can not only support early warning efforts, but also help with air traffic control. Able to be utilized from a mobile vehicle, or unloaded, it forms the vanguard field-based early warning radar, which can track both aircraft and missiles alike. The radar can, like the others, be integrated into the Polish air defense network through secure datalink requiring standard rotating authentication codes. It is easily calibrated and deployable in minutes, whilst being able to be packed up in a similar manner, and mobile within fifteen minutes if mounted on a flatbed truck.

These air defense upgrades are accompanied by the appropriation of ground surveillance equipment to Polish infantry units, which can deploy all-weather, day/night ground surveillance electro-optical/radar systems. This equipment can be utilized to secure a position against unconventional warfare units or infiltration, and when attached to a decoy system, launch infrared flares, or even lightweight short-range missiles against intruders if needed. These units, along with the tactical handheld drone system are expected to give Polish infantry the ability to choose when to engage enemy foot mobiles at will, and increase their situational awareness.

Similarly, mechanized units are being outfitted with the StormGuard Self-Protection Radar, which automatically detects threats to the vehicle and its crew and initiates a countermeasure sequence to protect the vehicle from harm whilst warning the crew. The radar will also communicate through its secure datalink to other vehicles or units the location of contact, and help coordinate a response by utilizing whatever assets that can be brought to bear. When linked in with a vehicles' remote weapon station or semi-auto-pilot turret, the turret will turn to engage, and after permission from the vehicle commander or crew, engage the threat in seconds. This will provide fast-reaction time to relevant threats to the Polish mechanized force, and increase situational awareness of threats around the vehicle.

Similar equipment, including acoustic-sounding equipment to detect sniper fire, and localized communications jamming equipment is expected to help provide Polish ground units with a qualitative edge in battle.

With the arrival of the diplomatic delegation of Dai-Tōhoku Renpō, the Fourth Republic of Poland would dispatch its own envoy and staff to the Far East to take up its own station. In keeping with precedence, the Polish foreign ministry would send one of its own experienced senior diplomats, Maria Hagglun. She would be accompanied to her post by Land Forces Major Julius Krasynski, and Air Forces Kapitan Fabius Wulff, who would serve as the Armed Forces military attaches to Dai-Tōhoku. As soon as getting settled, they would present themselves to their host countries' General Staff to begin their liaison duties.

The military attaches of Dai-Tōhoku would find themselves contacted by staff officers connected with the Polish Armed Forces General Staff, who were to provide liaison and escort duties to their new visitors. Requests could be made directly to their liaison officers for visits to various Polish units or factories, provided that the technology that was being presented wasn't considered vital to the national security of the nation.

As part of the expansion of the Land Forces, a new specialized regular forces unit, the 12th Assault Regiment, has been raised after a demand was raised for patrolling inland waterways and other bodies of water. As a brown-water naval assault unit, the unit has already earned the moniker of 'Poland's Marines', and it is expected to be a tougher regular force unit than most. Equipped with a variety of naval assault craft, some of which are air-transportable, the 12th Assault Regiment is a flexible reaction force made up of five battalions with six squadrons per battalion.

Able to fight on both land, or in brown-water situations, as a stand alone force, or in support of adjacent forces, the unit is armed with a plethora of specialized weapons and equipment. The most common of this equipment are the Szybki Medium Assault Boat and the Ułan Fast Assault Boat, both of which are air-transportable, armored against high caliber infantry weapons, and armed with prodigious amounts of firepower beyond basic infantry weapons. These boats are well-suited for deploying combat clearance divers and swimmers, whilst providing surface fire support.

These boats are supported by the tougher Wąż Fast Armored Assault Craft, which are resistant against twenty-millimeter mobility kills, and has heavier armaments. The craft can be armed with both machineguns, as well as automatic grenade launchers and lightweight missile systems. A variant of the boat carries the NEMO mortar, whilst losing most of its transport capacity when doing so. Standard boat variants have available weapons ports for amphibious troops carried on board, which can be sealed automatically or manually. The Wąż's deckhouse windows can be covered over by manually-deployed armored plates, which activates a series of cameras that will then allow the helmsman to still effectively use the boat's maneuverability and speed. The StormGuard Self-Protection Radar has also been deployed on the Wąż, and alongside FLIR and targeting systems, gives the boat and its occupants precious situational awareness needed to perform its' tasks.

Orbital Mechanics has begun a feverish introductory schedule of satellite launches at its newly-completed facility on the shores of Lake Solina, after launching its first satellite last night for the a Polish telecommunications corporation. Most of the satellites scheduled for launch by Orbital Mechanics are telecommunications satellites, as well as a few navigation satellites for Poland's national airline, LOT. Most of the satellite launches are expected to improve signals in worldwide phone calls and data transmission, as well as bring more consumers choices in television viewing from worldwide broadcasters.

Orbital Mechanics has also stated that some launches slated for the next week or so will include government satellites, but per usual government standards, the purpose of its satellites are not publicly released. Orbital Mechanics responded to a request by media outlets by stating that, "without government consent, we are not allowed to state what our satellite payloads are if they are government commissioned. Our close relationship with the national government is important to us, and we will not break the trust of that relationship in any way."

Orbital Mechanics has also announced the successful launch of two blimps to the outer edges of the atmosphere that are designed to assist in monitoring weather systems and improving forecasts. The blimps, that will ascend to altitude that will make them impervious to having to adjust due to upper level winds, will remain on station for three months, before being replaced by two further blimps. They will remain in airspace above Poland, and are solar powered, and are equipped for a variety of weather monitoring tasks. The blimps will also feature communications equipment that will be tested over the next few months to ascertain the value of on-station blimps in the telecommunications industry.

In an announcement by Wadislaw Maczek, the Foreign Ministry has appointed Donald Brody, a senior diplomat in the Foreign Ministry, to the post of Ambassador to Ireland.

Brody's appointment to the post comes amidst what the Sikorski Government has called a "review" of its' current foreign policy, the government stating that it is "considering" making adjustments. It has stressed, however, that this review "does not effect or in any way impact its commitment to existing treaties" but that it "pertains to future agreements and where Poland's priorities lay".

We are dispatching this letter to you to make a request for information about possibly acquiring designs for a modular seeker head for one of Poland's air launched cruise missiles. The government has a high regard of you and your government, especially in matters of maritime defense, as maritime matters are critical to your nation.

As such, we are looking to design a new, advanced modular seeker head that can be attached to our air-to-surface weapons, that could be utilized in anti-ship missile role. We consider the acquiring of this equipment to be a matter of increasing the capabilities of our armed forces across the board and being prepared for a number of roles that our Air Force might be counted upon, and modularity of these seeker heads is paramount, as it means that these missiles can be manufactured for a variety of uses, whilst utilizing different warheads for different tasks.

We hope that your nation can provide us with a solution to this request, and we look forward to your response.

Best of Regards,

Tomas Karpinski

Minister of National Defense

As per standard protocol with large deployments of foreign armed forces close to Poland's borders, the Polish Air Force has deployed a handful rotating flights of both SIGINT and ELINT aircraft and drones to western Poland. These flights would transmit data accrued back on encrypted and secure communication channels, or store them for analysis on return to base.

These units would also begin engagement in high altitude synthetic aperture radar imaging practices to track potential threats to the Polish border.

With the Fourth Republic facing a possible protracted war, the government's vote to recognize hostilities was immediately followed by a series of legislative votes that granted a series of powers to public officials. This included packages that allowed for government intervention in the economy, and the ability for the Fourth Republic to requisition production facilities for the production of further armaments. Production was already at an all-time high when the Polish Armed Forces moved to strike, but to ensure a steady supply of parts and replacement equipment the legislative action ensured the government was ready for a protracted war.

Under secure conditions, right after the declaration of war, the Land Forces began to enact its 'Fortress Poland' strategy, that allowed local reservist units and military police units to immediately go to fuel supply companies and requisition tanker trucks. Throughout the night, these trucks, individually, or in duos, escorted by unmarked Polish State Police cars, loaded up on various fuels, took stock of what they had, and were then taken to various locations throughout the country. These tankers were placed under cover, usually in empty warehouses, or under camouflage nets in large tracts of woods, close to military bases or strategic points within the nation, the location secured by plain clothes military police, who would serve as guards.

Similarly, spare munitions and armaments were put into strategic reserve in a similar way, moved from their factories or arsenals to dispersed locations in unmarked tractor trailer trucks, and put under heavy guard, their location reported in encrypted flash messages to the Polish General Staff. All of these precautions being taken under the cover of satellite dazzling systems that covered major armories and depots, land and air forces bases. Although these were precautionary measures, as Polish Armed Forces' arsenals and fuel bunkers were well fortified against all but the most determined attack, such measures were a good precaution, as history had dictated.

In a taped recent statement to the National Assembly at an undisclosed location, and released to the media due to wartime conditions, President Lech Sikorski has stated that the actions of Poland and the Greater Sith Empire will "fundamentally change the status quo, inert continent that is Europe". The speech marked a stronger tone than is normal for the relatively firm, but soft-spoken Sikorski, who put much stake in pursuing an aggressive campaign of foreign visits and meetings throughout the world before the war broke out. The speech also marked a departure from Sikorski seemingly taking a neutral stance, at least publicly, on whether it pursues a more regional or global-reaching foreign policy.

"The violence that this conflict has started is regrettable, I abhor armed conflict to the very root, but this war will determine the fate of Poland as a nation state. The very thought that neighbors of ours, believed that they could not only ignore our national interests and essentially spit on them, but then hold armed drills naught five kilometers from our borders in the expectation that we bend the knee, is sickening. No diplomatic solution has been forthcoming, no long term solution exists, we must create that long term solution, this conflict will determine the fate of Poland as a nation, it will serve to solve this dispute once and for all," stated Sikorski, in the taped statement.

Sikorski went on to speak on clips from frightened residents and citizens who lived along the border, and the sounds they had heard, the terror some of them had expressed when the drills had started. Many seemed deathly afraid that stray, live bullets, that could easily fly five kilometers, would hit them, their property, their children out playing. Sikorski expressed regret at any civilian life lost, and that the Polish Armed Forces were taking all possible measures from directly targeting Prussian citizens or basic services, and that Polish soldiers, and follow up State Police deployment forces would "lay down their lives" to save civilians, no matter what side they came from.

glen_4_zps59ea7238.png

President Lech Sikorski

Sikorski remarked on a regrettable note that the Athenian Federation had involved itself in what he deemed a "conflict that it had nothing to gain in as the regional power of note". He did express that he still "considered the Athenian Federation an amicable nation to Poland, despite it showing a lack of regard for Poland at the UN Security Council", and considered the Empress Notaras a "friendly acquaintance" of his. The President went on to exalt many nations that had rose to the verbal defense of Poland at the Security Council as "nations with great insight, with leaders who could see deeper meaning in the struggle Poland had engaged itself in". He noted that the Security Council meeting over the crisis has revealed who are Poland's friends abroad, and that the Fourth Republic will "engage itself not as regional, insular nation in the future, but will engage itself with states who have a like-minded, uncanny ability to realize the close-knit global community that now exists outside of regional politics".

The President specifically mentioned nations that included the Empire of Tianxia and its Commonwealth, the Greater Russian Empire, Ireland, the Greater Sith Empire, and the American Commonwealth as nations that were "of great insight and understanding to Poland's interests" in his speech. He was welcoming of further diplomatic efforts upon the conclusion of the war that focused on building ties with nations that "share a mutual interest to overlook petty regional politics and look at the 'bigger picture' in trying to find solutions to lasting problems throughout the world".

Public opinion remains high of the current Polish government, despite becoming embroiled in the war, with the population overwhelmingly of the belief that the conflict was legal under historic international law aspects.
