As the Live Fire Exercise came to an end, the post exercise review had revealed some shortfalls. The exercise had gone well, though accidents had occurred. One which had involved the accidental shoot down of a Tu-142M Bear F Maritime Patrol and Anti Submarine Warfare Aircraft by a S-300VM Surface to Air Missile System had killed four of the thirteen crew as the missile struck the aircraft on the port wing. The investigation of this accident had cited the cause of the shoot down being the fault of the missile launcher which had locked on and fired automatically as it would in a real life situation, overriding the manual control of the crew.

A second less severe accident had been the accidental detonation of several Kh-22 Air to Surface Missiles stockpiled at a temporary ammunition dump at an air base participating in the exercise, causing a major fire which had taken three hours to extinguish. This had come minutes after several Tu-22M3 Backfire Strategic Bombers had been rearmed with these missiles. The inquiry on this accident had ordered that procedures on live weapons handling safety would need to be addressed and updated.

Overall though it had been a successful exercise, with units getting experience of live fire testing.

Massive cut in Military Spending is enacted, with the cut in budget for new weapons and equipment reduced from Eight Billion Gran Colombia Pesos to  Nine Hundred and Fifty Million Gran Colombia Pesos.

Planned introduction of a Modernised RSD-10 Pioneer Intermediate Ballistic Missile is cancelled and all Research and Development Programmes are cancelled.

However the war currently being waged in Peru would continue, though Army Group B would lose an Infantry Division from its 22nd and 23rd Army which would be withdrawn back into Gran Colombia The reasons were that funding and supplies that had been sent were being diverted to the main front, making it difficult to supply them. Army Group C would be reduced in size and split into the 30th Army and 2nd Guard Army as the 31st Army is disbanded also due to lack of supplies. Effectively, the Gran Colombia Military would be focusing strictly on defence in this area, focusing exclusively on the Peruvian Front.
