Lyrositor
I was reading the terms of use recently, specifically the section on automated scripts and bots. As I understand it, any script which fetches data from the server or automatically submits information to the server is prohibited, whereas scripts which are static are allowed. However, I am unsure what "static" is supposed to mean in this case; is a static script a script which does not send out browser requests? Or is it one which doesn't interact in any way whatsoever with the game? For example, would this be allowed under the terms of use? 1. The player opens up a CyberNations page (nation display page, foreign aid page, etc.). 2. The player copies the page's source code (or a program does it for him) and feeds it to a program. 3. The program parses the input and displays some structured information to the player. I used to think this was all right until I saw the notice on this page, which specifies that screen scraping is not allowed.
xoindotnler
Your example is allowed. Automatically requesting pages isn't allowed, doing things by hand by means of copying the page or copying the source of the page is allowed. Manipulating the current page without making more request is also allowed (like userscripts, CNExtend). If you want to do stuff that is in the stat archives anyways you really should use those.
