This isn't the ventilation shaft you're looking for ...

Two months ago we saw UnknownSmurf's attempts to stir the pot between NSO and MK/DH go south when he decided to paint himself as a spy within the Sith Order in the discussion thread known as 'Delusion'. We sought Kaskus after he donned their affiliation to sort the situation out and explained it as such:

<KainIIIC> basically, either he A) went to Legion to spy on them to get into war with us in 2011 (per Ardus's request), and then later joined our alliance under MK's orders to slow our finance council down, or
<KainIIIC> B) He faked a bunch of logs in effort to get us to go to war against MK
<KainIIIC> our assumption right now is B)

For reasons of their own, Kaskus was steadfast to defend their friend despite these actions. Discussions got a little rough, patience on both sides a little thin. In the end, after being ignored and seemingly brushed off, we chose to take Smurf for ourselves knowing the reaction Kaskus would have. Operation 'Blueberry Extraction' was a success.

For two months now, the Sith Order and Kaskus have been locked in an arduous war full of much loss for both sides. Some unfortunate incidences along the way saw the war expand to our friends in the Pacific Order and Shangri-La, and then eventually into Kaskus's protectorate The Shadow Legacy. The tenacity of the Kaskus nations fueled their efforts long and hard in an uphill battle, but the odds proved too great in the end.

After months of fighting, we have finally come to our limit, we have exhausted our strategic resources to be able to continue to fight this war. So here it is, straight to the point:

We, Kaskus, hereby admit defeat to the combined force of New Sith Order, New Pacific Order, and Shangri-la.

We at the New Sith Order, confirmed by our friends in the New Pacific Order and Shangri-La, accept and are glad to finally bring this war to a close.

When our brothers and sisters in the New Sith Order asked for our assistance, we did not hesitate to throw the might of Pacifica behind their efforts against Kaskus, and we celebrate with them now as they receive Kaskus' surrender. However, though Kaskus has been at times frustrating in their refusal to bend to superior numbers and force, in being obstinate they have proven to be an honorable and worthwhile opponent deserving of our respect. Many alliances would have run from the field of battle upon seeing an angry Pacifican army making its jackbooted way to their shores alongside our Sith allies and their friends in Shangri-La; Kaskus did not.

Especially with the outbreak of other hostilities that occupied a grander scale, many have pushed for the Sith to let the Kaskus issue die and take up the "true" fight. I, however, am not one of them, and I also commend the New Sith Order for not only waging a just and right war but also having the determination to see it through. I am proud to call them my ally once more and I hope that this is the first of many new opportunities for Sith and Pacifican to work together again.

Shangri-La hereby recognizes peace with Kaskus.  We are glad we could honor our friends in NSO and help them out in this fight, and thank you for the fun Kaskus.

Doornail,

For future reference, the OWF owes you nothing. No leniency.

It has long been the standard of CN that if you are aiding an enemy of another alliance, that alliance can seek war or reparations.
The general rule is that if it is accidental there is a certain amount of leniency provided, whether it be a mistaken tech deal, or a newbie/inactive's mistake.

We, the NSO and NPO both, had made every attempt in good faith to broadcast the fact that any aid rendered to Kaskus would be treated as an act of aggression.

I am doing this as a favor to you in light of what I saw from the negotiations. The NSO was far more lenient than any alliance have been in the past regarding aid attempts. When you, as a leader of an alliance, openly attempt to help out your protector against us, it is an act of aggression from an alliance leader.

Whatever attempt on our part was made at a peaceful negotiation after those acts was charity. As an alliance leader, the burden of knowing the world's state of affairs is on you.

Just because I don't know that a law has changed does not make me immune from its application.

DoorNail was well-intentioned, no one can argue that with a straight face. Yes it is the CN norm to just ask for reps in case of a single instance of aid, but this situation was a little bit different; DoorNail was under the impression it was alright for allies of Kaskus to aid them since the warning was originally directed at NEW under the pretense that they were not "official" allies of Kaskus and the fact that NSOs allies had been aiding them (SL and NPO did prior to each individually entering the war).

Arguing whether this was correct or not is a waste of time and energy.

That said, lets let it go, war is over, time to shoot some other people.

DoorNail fucked up. Period. There's no two ways of looking at it. Good intentions or bad is subjective and irrelevant, he directly ignored the warnings to not aid. This made the action itself bad and wrong.

NEWs aid, SLs aid, NPOs aid: are all irrelevant to the case. When NPO declared war, the words were written on the wall:

We do this not because we feel our allies are incapable of militarily containing Kaskus, but in order to ensure no further outside interference in this conflict.

Therefore, from this moment onwards, any further attempts to meddle in such a manner - namely, any further aid sent to Kaskus - will be seen as an act of war against the New Pacific Order.

If Kaskus had any problems with NSO receiving aid, the onus is on them to 'do something about it.' You're failure to make the choice, or display the ability, is not our fault. It's the course of the war. This does not make us bullies. This does not make us bad guys. DoorKnob, this does not make us liars. This makes us leaders who've displayed the ability to lead our alliances to victory and deserved justice through both force and foreign ability.
