The thing is, the relationship between US and Kaskus isn't anything like actual brotherhood. Not to diminish whatever real friendship might exist there, but the hyperbole in that analogy is too much. And being subjected to several rounds of war isn't anything like being beaten to death, or even like being beaten up. US committed a wrong knowing what the penalty for that wrong is. There was nothing honorable in trying to keep him from paying that penalty. There's no analogy that makes that honorable.

The analogy was between NEW and Kaskus. i.e. Kaskus deserved to get hit by NSO; but not dog-piled on by NPO.

Further, 'deserve' doesn't come into it. It's too subjective and I bet you I could find plenty of people who think differently.

Well, the same still applies (from what I said earlier). Seeing your friends fighting NPO's lightly-wondered lower tier is nothing like watching your younger brother get jumped by a mob. NEW wanted the war to escalate. They knew as surely as you did that what they were doing was inviting an attack. And what they've gotten instead is a very measured response (I assume disappointingly so).
