President Marco sat back with a sigh, the past years he had watched has little Cuba survived and prospered into a peace loving island. Standing while the world around it tore itself apart, but all good things come to a end. Marco had been diagnosed with cancer, yet time and time again elections kept him in office. He was getting to weak to deal with the responsibilities of running a nation, but the nation was faced in a political stand still. With no one securing presidency and President Marco stepping down, there was no choice left but to go to Mexico.

Public message to Mexico

Our government is in the process of collapsing, with President Marco stepping down no one has come to take his place and the government is in total lockdown, unable to come to a decision on who will replace President Marco. I request that you step in and take control before the general population panics until such a time that a new leader can be found. We thank our allies in Mexico for their assistance during this difficult time in our nation.

After receiving the letter, President Calzada informed the Commander in Jamaica to begin taking governmental control over Cuba and its territories. The Commander would act as the provisional governor of the territory until a referendum could be done in Cuba to determine the path the citizens wish to take. A few thousand of the five thousand in Rio Bueno would enter Cuba proper to ensure law and order would remain in the nation.
