The Arctican head of state cringed a little when he saw his foreign minister arrive for his afternoon appointment. The older man was there to discuss his attendance at the ball in Terre Regius. A similar event in Slavorussia years ago had made him reluctant to attend any such events. That, and he didn't quite enjoy the monarchical image it gave off.

Still, Vedran decided to attend, opting for a reserved but formal suit and fedora, foregoing the official "uniform" that he had not worn since negotiations with Transvaal's Nationalists. It made him look more like a Marshal of France than any self-respecting leader was comfortable with. He intended to finally meet the King Andrea he had heard so much about and give him a proper greeting on behalf of the Union.

Travel arrangements were made for the Sovereign and staff to travel from Johannesburg to the new state's capital via a 747 designated Trident One. Also on the plane was the intended ambassador to Terre Regius, as well as security personnel which would deploy if a terrorist situation were to arise.

Chairman Sergei Volkov would soon be on a plane to Terre Regius, with a small entourage of his closest allies and ministers. He himself would have a Georgian Army general's uniform, adorned with medals from Operation Attero Dominatus pinned on, along with other ceremonial medals and awards.

As the various officials and nobles arrived, they would find most of the roads to be temporarily closed off due to construction. However, the Legio Munitor had worked tirelessly to ensure a safe and easy to follow path had been made from the airport to the Royal Sector. Their cars would be quickly searched by 5 man teams, and all weapons would be confiscated; to be returned upon leaving the Royal Sector. Those who came by sea would be allowed to dock directly at the Royal Sector, but again were searched. However, all searches, both by land and sea, were kept short, polite, and the personnel in charge stressed that this was simply to ensure the security of all guests.

At the palace, everyone would be sent to a large ballroom, with native foods such as brik a l’oeuf and various forms of eggplant being carried around by waiters on gold platters. There were two bars, one for alcoholic drinks, and the other for non-alcoholic. Malouf music, live performed, filled the air. Armed guards, if one looked specifically for them, could be found at some of the doors, but all were in dress uniform and armed only with their service revolvers. Even as the first of the foreign dignitaries arrived, they'd find the place filled with high-ranking officers and nobles.

Grand Prince Anatoliy Bogomolov asked the Councillor of External Affairs to send a message to King Andrea Gloval's Foreign Ministry, accepting the invitation to the Royal ball. This would be his first diplomatic trip as leader of the Union of Salekhard. Anatoliy would travel to Urbem Rex in the government jet. He would be dressed in the finest attire, worthy of his title. And his beard would be the crown jewel of it all, brushed to perfection.

Arriving off the ship and then taking a carriage to the Royal Quarters, the Tianxian Imperial Party smiled happily looking at the city which passed them by. It was a small group, the Empress Theresia and the Emperor Yuan Jia, and the Empress' shield-maiden, Nika Radinkova. It had been a long time since the Imperial Couple had the chance to go to an international ball and the small dances in Ehestadt were becoming redundant; nothing was better than getting out of the country for a few days. Of course given Tianxia's reputation at other balls as the carriage was arriving at the Royal Palace, Theresia turned and smacked Jia in the chest with her fan.

"Now you remember what I told you, no nationalism, no fighting, and no gin. I don't want a repeat of the Chang'an Ball."

Nika laughed and shook her head, her brown curls swinging from side to side. "Oh, c'mon Tessa, you make it sound like Jia's going to burn the place down and unveil an Imperial flag." Nika was the only one, not even Commander Zhen could attest to, who could call the Empress not only by her name, but by a nickname. They had met on an informal basis in Vaule and that informality had carried throughout their travels in Asia and back into the Empire.

"That's exactly what worries me, Nika," Theresia said said as she tapped him lovingly with her fan again and Nika rolled her eyes as the door of the carriage was opened.

The palace was beautiful and walking inside a look of awe and expectation about how great the night was going to be filled the women's faces. Theresia wore a long white dress was her blonde curls bouncing beautifully on her snow white skin, while Nika wore a slender black gown and her brown hair hung in waves down her back. Both women cut domineering figures. The intensive life of the Amazon faction of Tianxia held that both of them would be in shape though it reduced their feeling of daintiness, especially for Nika, who has shield-maiden was responsible for the Empress' protection and needed to have the strength to fend off foes. She was beautiful, in a very fierce way.

Entering into the ballroom itself the small Imperial Delegation scanned the room, unsure of where to go next.

Chairman Sergei Volkov breathed in deeply as he entered the ballroom. "A magnificent city," he declared to himself in Georgian. Behind him, General Konstantin Maxim remarked "Nothing compared to Georgian architecture of course." A few other lower-ranking party members filing in behind them, Sergei quickly turned his attention to the non-alcoholic bar, refraining himself from enjoying any vodka this evening. General Konstantin Maxim, on the other hand, didn't share the Chairman's restraint and instantly ordered a glass of vodka, preferably from Russia itself if possible.

To Whom it may Concern,

President Winner12345 will be attending the ball. He will be escorted by 2 armored vehicles. The President himself will be carrying a Taser, non lethal, for protection. He is trained in the use of the taser. Now you must know that there would be a high risk of terrorism, so i do hope that you will have armed gaurds, higher protection at airports and train stations among other security measure`s.

From President Winner12345

Jia frowned at the mention, of it, "And here I was about to pre-game and call in an air strike." he quipped. "Have some faith in my diplomatic prowess. I did sweep a certain Austrian princess off her feet once you know." he added smiling back at his wife. As he exited the carriage he held her hand helping her down from the carriage and escorting the Empress in. Jia himself was dressed in the uniform of an Imperial General officer. It was a close cut blood red colored uniform with golden buttons, and golden stripes outlining it, he wore with a golden sash denoting the rank of Emperor. To his side he wore a golden saber which would remained sheathed, at least for now. Despite his just slightly above stature, he wore the uniform with a commanding respect. His usual slightly sloppy appearance in the battlefield was cleaned up, at Theresia's assistance of course, no five o'clock shadow, and not looking a bit over do for a hair cut. He wore what he called his Imperial Face, one he wore either during official ceremonies or threatening lesser nations for their lunch money.

Upon entering he looked around, whispering to Theresia, "You know we've threatened to depose half the people in here?"

Now President Winner Arrived, looked around and said, "No protection, no lethal weapons and many of the world`s great leaders, are they asking for a terrorist attack or for anarchy?" As he walked into the room he saw many great world leaders including Jia, Sergei Volkov and Hector Streliz. Then he said "No protection". As this was said he heard someone yell at him. It was his Vice President, Winner1234, also his son say "Hey i got to tell you something." So he walked over there. His son looked nervous and then he said "Where being spyed on, i found 4 bugs already." Winner12345 dodn`t want to think about that but he decided it was best to help his son look for anymore bugs. Whether they where spying on him or someone else, it ws for the best to find and destroy all of the bugs.

With the leadership of so many nations in attendance, it seemed only proper that Selenarctos make an appearance as the President continued to pull Selenarctos' economy together and return to the global stage. Secretary of the Economy Dallas Valdés was selected for the honor, and arrived in Urbem Rex by plane the day of the event. Dressed in a western style business suit selected by an aid as he entered the building, Mr. Valdés' presence instead of the President's hoped to serve not as an insult, but to reinforce Selenarctos' image as a stable, peaceful, and technologically and economically advanced nation.

Although Winner12345 was hoping to see Selenactos` President, he inderstood. They deep down had the same concerns as President Winner12345 had, terrorism. Although the night may go off without a hitch, he nknew there was a high chance that something might occur.

To whomever it may concern,

First of all the Athenian Federation wishes to thank you for your invitation. We gladly accept, the Megale Autokrateira, People's Consul and Roman Consul will attend. With them will be two unarmed personal guards each. They will travel via air from Athens to Urbem Rex.

Sincerely,
Office of the Megale Autokrateira
As friday approached the general alert level for Africa was moved to elevated, a common procedure when a member of the upper government moved to a foreign area. However due to the closeness to Malta the airbase there would assume main responsibility on protection. At all times two F-5 squadrons and a B-1 squadron were kept fully fueled and ready to fly. Razor Special Operations would also stand ready to deploy from Malta with minimal notice.

The full Athenian entourage would enter the ballroom early that day. Ariadne was dressed in a blue elegant evening gown, Valerio and Hektor both wore business suits. Finally the six guards were wearing the ceremonial uniforms of the High Guard, white with gold. The ban on weapons wasn't really a problem, these people were trained in using their hands as weapons. Especially considering half of them were Alterans. The clothing themselves provided protection too using specific nanofibers with bullet resisting capabilities.
The palace and ballroom were impressive, they had heard worrying reports from the FIA but none could argue their methods didn't work. Each of the three would go their separate ways. Valerio would make his way to the nearest place that offered alcohol while Hektor decided to join locals and meet their hosts. Ariadne would just walk around a bit for now.

"Why again did you have to assign me Ariadne?" Orpheus asked visibly irritated by the ceremonial uniform he was wearing. Ariadne chuckled, one of the less positive tendencies of the Alterans. They hated formal events and the clothing it required. "Because I like abusing the fact I kicked your ass in battle" She said as she looked around for familiar people. The rather excessive presence of people Athens has fought at times or at least threatened to fight was not unexpected yet still cause for some caution.

OOC: Just going to list who I know is here, order of posting:

Secretary of the Economy Dallas Valdés - Selenarctos
Megale Autokrateira, People's Consul and Roman Consul - Athens

Winner, you're not on the CNRP map so...idk. Sorry. <__<

IC:
As everyone gathered, the music suddenly stopped, and the soldiers stood at attention as a voice boomed over the crowd. "Presenting His Majesty, King Andrea Gloval the First, Lord Protector of the realm of Terre Regius, Duke of the City of Urbem Rex, Grand Marshal of the Armed Forces, and Holder of the Parliamentary Mandates of Power." Dressed in a fine light-blue suit* and flanked on either side by guards, Gloval steps into the ballroom from a set of previously closed double-doors. He smiles, and nods at the musicians, who resume playing precisely where the music stopped before, and the doors close behind Gloval as he moves to mingle with the crowd.

By chance, the President of Colombia, Ignacio de Ardanza, and his fiance, Deputy Home Affairs Minister Elena Vasquez, would arrive just in time to see the entry of King Andrea Gloval and his entourage. Despite the political crisis that had arisen in Colombia, Ignacio and Elena appeared to be in good spirits and were both quite relaxed, having spent the last week in a series of meetings with cabinet ministers, Department Governors, and judicial officials, this was a time for relaxation. Having slept on the ride over, the two were very refreshed and, Ignacio especially, looked forward to the chance to meet with foreign leaders, something he had a bit of a knack of doing, having conducted many diplomatic missions himself already as President of one of the premier nations in South America.

Taking up a spot at the bar, they would order shots of tequila, casually mingling with any officials that decided to come their way, and conversing between one another as they enjoyed their drink.

"We should have bottle of our own along," said Elena, in a very low voice, so as to not offend the bartender, commenting on the tequila.

"It's alright," nodded Ignacio, as he pursed his lips lightly, the aftertaste of the salt from the tequila shot still lingering on his lip. "If worst comes to worst, we send one of our aides back to the plane to get one out of the private stock there," he said, with a grin.

Elena would look over the crowd, recognizing a number of the faces around them, noting the dignitaries from around the world, before turning back to Ignacio, "I may be a people person, but I don't know how you do it, I'm nervous as hell right now."

"They're people with the same basic wants and needs, Lena," responded Ignacio, simply, keeping his voice low. "No different from you or I, we just happen to be thrust into a position of leadership. There are other people who could do the job that we do, but they don't, its just simply the way the world is. I hope that my future first lady can handle this type of crowd," he said, in a bit of a challenging voice.

Elena's eyes would narrow, and she gave his arm a gentle punch, "I can, and I will, its just a little... overwhelming initially, I guess."

"You get used to it," said Ignacio, in a simple voice with a shrug. "Just don't cling to my arm all night, as much as I enjoy your company, we should both try to talk to different people individually, you especially."

Elena gave him a smarmy look, then signaled the bartender for another tequila, if she was going to mingle, she was going to need a little extra liquid encouragement.

Her Majesty, Stephanie, Queen of J Andres would arrive shortly after the King had made his entrance. She glanced backwards at Patrick Aurora, the Foreign Minister. "The years seem to have treated myself kinder than they have treated you Minister," she said as she scurried into the ballroom keeping her distance from the attention to the King. The Queen was dressed in a fine blue gown. The dress was modest, as the Queen had celebrated her 65th birthday months before. Her dress was modest--Her own husband may have been dead for a few years, but the Queen was not looking for another consort.

Huffing and puffing as he entered the door, Patrick Aurora, the 64 year old Foreign Affairs Minister, attempted to keep pace with the Queen, but she was correct. He was not accustomed to the physical exertion that he had just completed. He was dressed in a dark blue suit with a golden tie.

The Queen walked over to the non-alcoholic bar to find herself a glass of water, while the Foreign Affairs Minister would start wandering the crowd. He knew that nearly every important foreign dignitary would be here, and the Minister was looking to get treaty talks rolling with some nations.

By the time the King walked in Valerio was already enjoying his first glass of bourbon. When a few minutes later two of the guests joined the bar he had finished it. After odrdering another one he turned to the two recognizing them from Intelligence Briefings.

"President de Ardanza right?" Valerio said extending a hand. "Valerio Moretti"

The same beard that may have won him the election, besides the fact that he secured independence for the Union.

Queen Stephanie of J Andres would soon be met by Chairman Sergei Volkov, sipping from a chilled glass of club soda. In Georgian-accented English, he said "Queen, I have heard much about J Andres." Bowing a bit but still keeping eye contact, he added, "Chairman Sergei Volkov, the Socialist Republic of Georgia. The pleasure is mine."

The desk of Sergei Aleksandrov, the Grand Chancellor of the State of the Chancellery of Cyrantia, had been cluttered terribly as of late, with him even busier than was normal. It was for this reason that a printed copy of the invitation to the ball in Urbem Rex was buried under other correspondence and business for some time. By the time he unearthed it again, the party was fast approaching and he couldn't clear his schedule for it, being less than a day away. He was disappointed at the lost chance of escaping his country for a while, but he also knew that he ought to afford one of his Cabinet members a short break from their duties. Maksim Bazhenov, the High Chancellor of Internal Affairs, had been working particularly hard with no respite for quite some time, and he was always one for a good party in representation of Cyrantia. The Grand Chancellor found a small sheet of paper and quickly scrawled a note to his secretary which read, "Ball in new country, Terre Regius. Maksim's going alone, he doesn't know yet. Make sure the proper people get contacted and he gets on a plane. -Sergei"

The secretary contacted Terre Regius and announced that a representative from the Cyrantian Cabinet would be in attendance, flying in a small private aircraft alone but for the pilots. Bazhenov, who had been likewise busy recently, was then called and told to pack his things and get to the nearest airport. He was surprised, but he did as he was told and in short order the plane was off the ground towards Urbem Rex. Realizing his fairly scruffy state of dress, Maksim cleaned up and changed into a fine formal suit in the restroom and awaited arrival. It was some time before they landed, and though they made good time the party had already started. Even so, Maksim's car was quick to try and get to the event in time to not be so late as to be rude to the hosts.

When Maksim finally entered the ballroom, he took in all the other guests and tried to blend in. He was not exceptionally late, but even so he hated to be thrown into something so suddenly and with no punctuality. He wasn't informed of who would be in attendance at the party, so he had no idea who to try and approach. He gravitated towards the bar and called over a worker, but being slightly sharper about restraining his vices than some of his fellows back in Cyrantia, he only ordered an icewater. Sitting down, he sipped on the cold drink and looked around, taking in the palace he had been hurrying far too much to appreciate beforehand.
