Annelie Nordström, Ambassador-At-Large for Northern Europe, would make her way to London on an A350 painted in Athenian colors and with diplomatic marks. Relations between Athens and England had been strange to say the least. They had been hostile with Proxia, at points allied with the England that followed, then again hostile with interim regimes followed by positive relations with the young queen Jane and hostile again with the next two failed governments. Now she thought about it, when it came to England she also had to consider the Angevin Monarchy.

As soon as the plane arrived she was welcomed by a significant English delegation and brought to Windsor Castle, she had been given specific instructions on what she could and could not do so she knew what to expect. Once escorted to the King she would bow slightly in respect.

"Your Highness, I am Annelie Nordström acting on behalf of Her Imperial Highness the Megale Autokrateira"

"Ambassador Nordström, a pleasure to meet you. Please, do not bow to me, I am but a man with a title, no more, no less. Now, please take a seat Ambassador, help yourself to drink and food" said Dominic politely as he offered his hand before sitting down himself.

"Athens and London have had a turbulant history ranging from close allies, to very nearly open war. Other elements of my family in France rose and fell in Government and prooved to be antagonistic most of the time, and I invited you here to tell you that I have no designs on what medieval lands England held in France, no plans on rebuilding the old Empire and certainly no plans on allowing England to fracture into tiny sub states and fight it out to the death on the words of a girl queen. I wish to make ammends with Athens for the negativity of the past regimes, and move forward once again with European comradery likened to the past strength of the Anglo/Athenian friendship." said Dominic sipping at a cup of coffee on the table.

Annelie nodded as she helped herself to a glass of water and took a seat opposite of the king.

"Our history has certainly been turbulent but we appreciate your initiative by taking the lead. We are certainly open to discussing anything you have in mind" She said as she took a sip.

"Englands social growth stopped the moment Queen Jane took the helm, since then we have been in a spiral downwards thanks to the quasi german government of Richtenburg and its successor, New Britanica. The Scottish King is a wild man, and the Irish King is a nothing more than a boy with a chip on his shoulder. England is surrounded by fools Ambassador, and I do not want them influencing England that is going to stall the rebuilding of the English national identity. I come to you asking a favour. England needs a facelift. A massive infrastructure overhaul to replace the dead wood and bring it back to the front of innovation, to bring it back to the first world. Our military is small and using equipment thirty years old, we are developing new warships and fighters, but the Army is the problem. But once it is larger, better equiped, it will be a fine Army. Once England is back on its feet, would Athens sponsor an English member application to the Union?"

Annelie choked a bit, yet not noticeable, on the glass of water as Union membership was raised. She had expected treaty requests but this was surprising even to her. After staying silent for a few seconds considering the words she nodded. "I can not promise you right now we will sponsor membership however I can certainly see us watching England over the next few months and years to find out. What I do suggest in the interim is however to file for economic membership which will give you a direct tie to the other members. That way I am certain that membership is possible in the near future once you are back on your feet."

"Quite ambassador, obviously, rushing into full membership would be bad for England and probably for the Union, but economic membership would be a good starting point I believe, its certainly a solid foundation. But it doesn't change the fact that England is surrounded by boy Kings and savages in the Isles. I recently made the boy King of Ireland cough up twelve billion pounds worth of compensation for the damage he caused during his war against the Richtenburg, and when an american ambassador came to visit, he was told that Ireland had given us aid or "charity"." said Dominic, now visibily irritated at the thought of that conversation.

"Ms Nordström, England needs friends in Europe, could Athens consent to a treaty of friendship to be used as a foundation stone for further relations?"
