GOONS. And wow, only 13 alliances have more than 200 members. I still think that there should be a membership component to determining who gets sanctions but the dearth of 200+ member alliances shows that that requirement is no longer tenable.

This.. probably a good thing too, sure new sign ups are less then a year ago and even less then more years back.. but it's not like its impossible to get to or maintain 200 members.

Now we're mass recruiting again for our recruitment competition i've only really started to notice how few alliances still actively recruit.

When i joined back during the karma era, it took about 30 seconds before i got my first recruitment message, when i logged in an hour later i had over a dozen. when i decided on an alliance after 1 day i had 2 pages of recruitment messages. These days i can easily leave the DAN alone for 30 minutes and still be the first to send a message to new sign ups.

So smaller pool.. less alliances fishing so not a HUGE deal. you can still get several recruits a day with a bit of effort.

And then there are all the nice stories about only wanting quality members.. how many alliances can truly claim to only have quality members? And how do you restock on valuable members in CN unless you give new members a chance to become one.

On top of that, when you join CN you spend about 10 seconds before you are out of money and have maybe 50 infra to show for it (probably less). If nothing happens you just don't come back anymore.. but when you get bombarded with recruitment messages it shows you as new nation that there is "something" going on besides the 10 seconds you already noticed.



Sorry had to get that out of my system, back to gopher for the sanction race results!

To me, this makes a lot of sense. Lowering the standards and then claiming victory when you meet those very low expectations only counts for anything with standardized testing in schools -_-

It doesn't need to be RnR. If any of the currently sanctioned alliance "went missing" (I mean: went below 200 members) you'd have the same result. The most likely cause would in fact be the GPA dropping below 200 members, and NpO, ODN, Fark, VE and NG also all have equal or less members than RnR, anyway. Not to mention that GOONS have less members than any of the other ones I mentioned.

The best answer to your question is thus IMHO "no one", as by the time RnR dropped below 200 members there would already be less than 12 alliances with 200+ members. Considering that in case of war both sides tend to bleed members I think that my analysis is valid for any war scenario that isn't just RnR being "curbstomped", and with the exception of GOONS (that AFAIK gain members from SA when they're at war).
