[center][b][size=5]Happy Valentines Day[/size][/b][/center] [color=#BF0040][b][size=6]Mostly Harmless News[/size][/b][/color] [color=#FF0040][b][size=5]Elections[/size][/b][/color] [color=#FF0000]Triumvir[/color] elections threatened to be a little beige this month with the self-styled Dictator Doc (nee Doctor, nee Tik Tok) running for reelection initially unopposed.Luckily, everyone's favorite northern Australian, Qldvespanut, stood up against the forces of predictability and ran against him. After a sometimes feisty campaign, Doc was returned as Triumvir for another term. Meanwhile, everyone's favorite Harry Potter fan and [color=#0000FF]Minister of Hitchhikers[/color], Anysound, departed our shores and was replaced by Working Class Ruler, otherwise known as everyone's favorite southern Australian who isn't Crushtania. And the Courts are back! Having spent a few months in the shop getting a tune up and spit-polish, the MHA successfully re-adopted our independent judicial body and elected three shiny new Court Officers. In a narrow race, the successful first officers are Akbar, Belari and Umbra. So after all that, you can check out our current Government line-up below. It was the completely gibberish, completely perfect description of who were during the first three years of our existence. It was the definition of that era. You could sass that hoopy Hitchhiker, he was one frood that always knew where his towel was. You don't get that kind of pride and history through just a few individuals - there is a whole list of people throughout MHA's many years who were the perfect definition of a hoopy frood. Hitchhikers that many of you outside of the MHA may also remember. (And some of you [i]are[/i] those people - just in new homes, doing new things.) Indeed, even those people were the tip of the iceberg; the MHA had a culture of good-hearted diplomacy and hard-working alliance-building that raised this little group of Douglas Adams fans into a sanctioned alliance. It wasn't always fun and easy, but we got there. However, over the past few years, the term "hoopy froody" had become as overloaded and weighted as the MHA itself. It became an [i]excuse[/i] to allow for laziness, apathy, and inactivity. It was the reason why nothing got done; the justification for eating that extra slice of cake when we should have said "NO SIR!" Along the way, we also lost respect for ourselves and each other. We started treating each other like enemies. The term and the alliance with it, became the antithesis for what it should have been. Now, I've spoken before about the coming of a New MHA. I wish I could say we were close to emerging from this dark period, but there is still work to be done. A large part of that work will be putting the pride and love back into who we are. We have to remember what it means to be a Hitchhiker; we need to reignite that passion for building the alliance, improving ourselves, and loving who we are. Some alliances who have been in this position before have used revenge or statistics as their motivation. For myself personally, I'm looking forward to the day when MHA can truly call itself hoopy froody again; when I see the respect and love has returned; when we get back to being that hard working, tight-knit and still fun-loving community we once were. And to that end, I dedicate this edition of [i]Don't Panic[/i] to my fellow Hitchhikers - my true love. Always.
