It has been the Commonwealths policy that any enemy invading our territory will be attacked nuclear weaponry. As the weapons have and are being deployed in the Commonwealths territory, it is not the concern of Gallifrey wether or not we clean it up. Not only would the winds carry north towards our allies The Lunar Republic but the possibility of the radiation hitting our waters and cities aswell. We have a quite large city just on the border. Biological warfare is quite the same in the carrying of the harmful gasses with the prevailing winds. [/quote] OOC: I would like to note that I checked out the general predominant winds in the region and created an expectation map in case anyone was interested: http://forums.cybernations.net/index.php?showtopic=109163&view=findpost&p=2942756 Because the attack most likely occurred near the border, most of the radioactive fallout would start out west of your nation and would be carried, north, north-west... mostly affecting the Peruvian Imperium, The Lunar Republic, New Panama, Avalon and of course Edean. So luckily I think you'll be safe from most of the radiation, but some will probably still drift your way via the wind if not by water if it contaminates the water which will likely flow through your nation. The war mostly affects me it seems - even more-so then it affects the Umbrella Corporation who was attacked ironically enough. Given the disregard though, my companies might just be pushing to shove the requests of the Triumvirate and request permission to travel through the Peruvian Imperium with armed escort >_> - given that they are paying for their own private defense firms after all for regional defense. The vote saw some controversy simply because of the displacement issue. While civilians in the areas lost and or gained in the deal would be given the choice between staying in the area and becoming Gallian citizens or Moving to a place within Gallifrey some people saw in plainer terms. A woman from one of the northern areas said [i]'While I decided to move back within Gallifrey into the city of *bleep* I am ispleased with the choice given. We were basically given a choice between our homes and our nation, both of which we love dearly.'[/i] The people who decided to stay in Gallifrey will be payed for their move and the first 6 months payment of their houses or until they get a job all from the Gallifreyan government. Many civilians were unhappy with this. At 2:05 AM s gunshot went off in citadel, and then many followed. The capital building was invaded by the Silence supporters. The attack killed off all of Gallifreys key leaders in one night as they were in a meeting over the land transfer. Gallifrey was now in anarchy with no form of government to stop the chaos. Divisions of the Republican Army broke off state by state fighting eachother over which government would rule the land. Nothing was left but chaos. The fall of a great republic over a patch of land. Th silence had its will and anarchy rained in the streets. Civilians crying for help from any nation in South America that would assist in the chaos and bring order. In a last effort the last of the Republican government sent the details of mines and traps in Gallifrey to the Umbrella Commonwealth for proper disposal and the last of the Gallifreyan Republican Army and the Time Lord council went on the borders to Sao Paulo to seek refuge in the heat of battle. Gallifrey has fallen. A sad day indeed for the continent, the loss of a free republic. The Lord President couldn't be found. Elements of the third and fourth rapid deployment were also deployed from air mobile formations and Gallifrey quickly fell before the Commonwealth Forces. Whilst it would take some months more of fighting, Gallifrey was annexed into the Commonwealth proper and anti insurgency operations began.
