enderland
Does anyone have access to this? I am interested in the actual formula for tech costs - regardless of level. Sample use cases would be: cost of tech from 0 to 500, cost of tech from 10,000 to 15,000 (lol ), or 500 to 2000, etc. Please don't bother telling me "why buy tech above 50!?" This is the only meaningful formula for any game mechanic I don't know, so, I'm curious to learn it

Once you have an account, click on the link and calculate. Price of Tech is determined by what resources you have, what improvements you've bought, what wonders you've bought, so only you can know the answer. But for fun, using the utility I linked to, with the best possible combination of resources, improvements, wonders... 0-500 = $18,148,630.48 10k-15k = $5,652,974,997.72 500-2000 = $233,727,350.65. Let me explain CN to you son, its a game of waiting and patience. If you can't wait months upon months just to get to 2000 tech then I do not think you're cut out for CN. We, the old-experienced-knowledgeable, players have gotten where we are now because we applied our Sim City 2000 building skills and combined it with watching paint dry patientce to zen like levels. He's quite aware of what it takes to play the game, just curious what it would cost to buy 2k tech.
Mada Vopahsolog
My nation link: http://www.cybernations.net/nation_drill_display.asp?Nation_ID=419938 FYI, I've been dealing in Tech for a long time, and I'm always looking for long term buyers. If you have some aid slots open (and I do too) drop by and buy some Tech. 3mill/50.

Plus 2000 tech is 40 aid offers. At 3M/50 you are paying 120M (nearly half what it costs to self purchase). But, you also spend about 5 months getting it. 130M for a 5 month head start on tech growth is well worth it imo.
Garion
To get from 100 tech levels to 1000 it costs you around 100 millions, provided you have Gold, Microchips, and 2 Universities.
Instr
Regarding Han-Ender, it's a silly joke. Back when I was booted from IRON, I was hand-buying tech to 3k in order not to strain alliance tech availability. Ender seems more interested in 2k, and I can understand why; 3k costs, if I recall correctly, something like 400-600m and for a small nation, especially with the new (ha!) late-game wonders around 14k, cash becomes precious enough that at 500m or 600m, it's enough of a cut into warchests to make buying such massive amounts a bad idea. Chintan
tech amount is T: 0<=T<5: 10000 5<=T<8: 12000+100T 8<=T<10: 13000+100T 10<=T<15: 14000+100T 15<=T<30: 16000+100T 30<=T<50: 18000+100T 50<=T<75: 20000+100T 75<=T<100: 22000+100T 100<=T<150: 24000+100T 150<=T<200: 26000+100T 200<=T<250: 30000+100T 250<=T<300: 40000+100T 300<=T<400: 50000+100T 400<=T<500: 60000+100T 500<=T<600: 70000+100T 600<=T<700: 80000+100T 700<=T<1000: 110000+100T 1000<=T<2000: 160000+100T 2000<=T<3000: 210000+100T 3000<=T<4000: 260000+100T 4000<=T<5000: 310000+100T 5000<=T<6000: 360000+100T 6000<=T<7000: 410000+100T 7000<=T<8000: 460000+100T 8000<=T<9000: 510000+100T 9000<=T<10000: 560000+100T 10000<=T<15000: 660000+100T 15000<=T<20000: 760000+100T (lower limit verified, upper limit unverified!) 20000<=T<29000: 860000+100T (unverified!) T>=29000 unknown, something really weird happens at this point That gives just the BASE tech cost. After that you have to apply the modifications from Gold, Microchips, Universities, the Great University, the National Research Lab, and Space Program to get the actual tech cost.
