General Boulanger picked up his pistol. It was the end, it seems. Despite the support that Kingfish had provided, the intervention of the barbarians had thrown the entire campaign into chaos. The rebels have been crushed, Paris nearly conquered by the Yellow Peril, and Vichy was being surrounded. He felt he was just used as a pawn, and perhaps, he was, allowing his hatred and ambition get the better of him in this fruitless. Now, it was time to end this.

The general took a deep breath, then raised the barrel of his pistol to his own head. He inadvertently squeezed his eyes shut just before he pulled the trigger. The sound of the shot made a stupendous thunderclap in the hallway, as blood and brains flew from the general's head.

She touched her custom revolver which was in its holster, smiling at the thought of what to do tomorrow. Probably have breakfast with someone.
