Operation Tropical Watch

The P-8 crew flew from their mobile off shore base dispatched to a midway point between Hawaii and the Coast of Central America. In the past several weeks a massive sky bridge had been constructed from Tianxia's Pacific Shores, to the Marianas, across to Johnston Atoll and Hawaii, and from there to the three mobile off shore bases which had been amassed within flight range for the coast of the Americas. This artificial Island chain, was the key for a massive logistical operation which the UFE would have primary responsibility for enforcing in the Pacific. The deployment of a Theatre SOSUS grid which stretched much of the central East Pacific and Central Atlantic and Carribean Sea.

This grid would then be fed to Athens, New Spain, France, Sweden, Avalon, and the Federation itself for monitoring in the event that very specific threats be determined to be originating from this position. Starting 12 nmi from the Panamanian shoreline, the grid would extend nearly to the mobile off shore base. The operation would involve the preponderance of maritime patrol aircraft, along with mobile air refuelers drones deployed to two carriers to keep units operating out of Alaska and Hawaii moving so as to prevent logistical stalling. The initial operation, protected by 8 squadrons of Super Quantums, 6 anti shipping/submarine helicopter squadrons, 3 Prince Gong Carriers, 6 Xia Class Battleships, 20 Dragon attack submarines, 5 Qing Class Frigates, 5 Qin Shi Huang Class Cruisers, 8 ASW configured LCS, and 5 Jade Emperor Class destroyers.

Much like Tianxia's own developments an almost identical system was set up in the Atlantic by Athenian forces. Recent events had amde it clear that watching the seas closely not only gave militaries an advantage but by now it was needed to preserve their very security. In the Atlantic the already existing systems made the project a lot easier, a SOSUS grid already was established between Europe and Central America. Now following the technologies of setting up a Theatre SOSUS grid which was to stretch most of the Atlantic. Mobile Offshore Bases would semi-permanently be set up in the North and South Atlantic to cover those locations where there was somewhat less land than in the Central Atlantic.

Across the grid maritime patrol aircraft would fly protected by F-5s and fueled by the bases along the line in addition to the mobile air refuelers. The entire Atlantic Fleet would be placed on ASW duties to protect the grid in this initial sensitive state.

Operating at ultra high altitude UFE Air ships began homing in on two thermobloom signatures, larger than attack subs, likely nuclear boomers. Using their darker than black very powerful thermoscope lenses, they narrowed in on the targets relaying positions to the PLAN AC to dispatch A-47 drone specially configured for stand off submarine warfare to track them. Orders were given to deep the two Panamanian Ohios within easy target range at all time, giving the capability to destroy the targets before the Panamanians could surface to missile launch depth, much less launch multiple missiles.
