The Wolf and the Eagle

The night skies above the Crimea rumbled like thunder as the Horde's air force transported the invasion force into the German Home Territories. These airborne divisions would be responsible for keeping the Asian advance alive as the Imperial Couple continued to organize landing forces on the shores of the Caucuses. For the 1st Amazon Shock Phalanx which had been bolstered to five thousand women, they were assigned to hold the middle ground between the two Chinese divisions which were attacking north of the Crimea and occupying the island for the landing forces. As Rakel sat in the long corridor as the drop planes roared across the sky, she looked at the faces of the other Amazons, they gripped their rifles tightly and bullets of sweat dropped down their bows. The ceremonial titanium spears, hung shimmering at their sides and she thought that when the doors opened what the jump would feel like when they descended into immortality.

"Sentinel," the pilot's voice echoed over the loud speaker. "A minute until we reach the drop zone."

"All right." Rakel said and stood up. "Daughters of Ares! I have received orders from the Great Khan and our Queen that we will be holding ground near the village of Hryshyne. A division of Chinese paratroopers has gone ahead of us to secure the land on the northern side of the Crimea and that makes us the middle, we are the link in a chain that under no circumstance can break. If we break, so does the rest of the entire Horde army, they will be surrounded and destroyed, we will do what we can to make sure this does not happen. Am I clear?"

"Yes Sentinel!" Said the Amazons as the green light in the plane flickered on.

"Then follow me, tonight we become goddesses."

Like stars the white chutes opened up and flickered against the inferno that raged above them. The German Air Force was not simply going to take the invasion of their homeland kindly and as Rakel looked up into the sky, silhouetted against the flames, she saw Amazon and Chinese planes burst open as screaming soldiers, covered in the fires of their chutes and uniforms fall like comets to the ground. All around her was death and as the ground approached, the sounds of bullets began to cry out through the night as the Amazons landed against the cold earth and did their best to begin rallying around the drop zone and set up a defense. At first, the Amazons had a clear advantage against the fatigued and surprised German soldiers who had withdrew from the Caucuses. There was no real order of the battle for some hours, as individual Amazon squads were filtered across the northern plains of the Crimea, battling with great success the German positions. However, soon, the divided platoons began to make their way to Hryshyne in an attempt to rout the German defenders from the north.

Then disaster struck...

Whether the German Army group had defeated the Chinese northern flank or that they had been able to pound through the Horde defenses. The Amazons now found themselves faced with overwhelming forces of crack German soldiers, armor, and support barreling towards the hastily formed Amazon defenses.

On the plains, Rakel quickly came to grip with a serious problem. Without artillery or armor support, the Germans would make quick work of the defenders unless they could find a place to regroup and engage this army group. As the bullets and shells whirled around her, she saw her sisters fall, but the Sentinel could hear her orders. The line had to hold...they couldn't be decimated her and they couldn't surrender, a fate worse than Hades surely awaited the Amazons if they were captured and on that note she barked out orders to her comrades.

"Whatever you do sisters! Do not let them take you alive! Let their ravens have a meal, but never, never will we be enslaved!"

A wooded slope rose up into the hills a few meters off and this hill over looking the village and the northern plains would become the last stand for the Amazons as Rakel took one of the Junior Captains by the shoulder. Their dark eyes melting into each other. "Natalia, can I ask something of you?" Said the Sentinel as German artillery shells blasted around them.

"Anything, Commander."

"Defend this line until the end. None of us are going to make it out alive, but this line must hold for as long as possible."

Natalia's eyes glistened with stern tears for a moment before she stared back at the legions of black troops with red eyes coming towards them. "Monsters aren't fit to win without a fight."

Rakel shook her strongly and nodded. "The Germans will march to that hill over piles of their own dead bodies. They have no regard for human life, let no mercy be shown to them."

As a detachment of the Amazons began to fall back towards the forested slopes, those thousand who were left behind to cover the retreat took to their destiny as bravely as was possible. A volley of rifle fire and portable anti-tank rockets were launched at the incoming German soldiers and the shelling would not stop. The Amazons came to terms at once that this would be the final earth they would stand on and when the rockets were gone and the bullets made their last echo to the ground and the Germans would eventually come into close combat with the forward battalions they would be greeted with titanium spears. Inside the smoke, the last battle cries of the Amazons called out in their final days of glory and when the fog finally cleared, Rakel would look down from the hills to see the ground littered with her sisters. But they would be true to their word, death before enslavement to the European Barbarians.

"Hold to the last. To the last what? Exercise in rhetoric. Last shell... last man... last foot of ground... last breath...last German."

12th PLA Airborne Division Area

Kim shook felt himself pulled to the ground by one of his subordinates a barrage of bullets flew past him. The fierceness of the fighting on the gates to the Crimea was something he had never quite experienced. Mission planning had expected German strength to be strong, but at the same time it also had expected them to still be reeling from the defeat in the Caucuses. The casualties in the company had been heavy, in the first hour of the fight fifteen had been killed, twenty wounded, with little chance of air evacuation.

Kim's unit had fallen further and further back towards the division command center. There they were make a stand against the onslaught of heavy armor that the Germans had put up. They had made the Germans fight for every inch of terrain, but the paratroopers were grossly outmatched by the concentration of enemy armor.

Falling back to a farm house, the infantry took cover within the wooden structure as the sound of german tank tracks screeching forward could be heard. Kim imagined the iron behemouths which awaited them outside the gates of the farm house. He kept quiet, hidden in position as the sound of enemy troopers pouring out of APCs could be heard.

"All units, engage the German infantry and fall back. We need to take as many of them out as possible. Every dead German is one we do not have to fight later on."

Suddenly the crackle of gun fire erupted as the Korean company laid into German positions, mowing down the initial enemy team. Like lightning German tanks returned fire on them, quickly overwhelming their position.

Signalling, Kim's unit called in for mortar fire to cover their fall back further and further from the position. As they regrouped moving through a field to a creek embankment, Kim took stock of the unit. Eight more lost. They were still ten miles from HQ. We're going to be wiped out at this rate. he thought to himself.

2nd Imperial Airborne Area

Sevastpool had been fortified relatively quickly with the bulk of the German attackers having been concentrated in the center of the Crimea. The Airborne had begun now to conduct a siege operation on the 50, 000 battered parts of Army Group A. while the exhausted enemy was fighting tooth and nail, the Imperial Guard had been able to make significant progress with the assistance of the rail batteries from the Caucuses.

Chakri's unit had managed to penetrate the enemy line at about 20 kilometers when they had received word of the oncoming offensive from the North. "What do you mean?" he said, as he heard the word.

He was quickly told that the Amazonians had taken heavy casualties in the enemies oncoming attacks. They had been utterly overwhelmed by the massive drive of the German onslaught.

"All units, prepare to fall back, we want to link up with the 9th Division and hold out till we can get reinforcements." He ordered. "Begin an assault on Army Group A we've got to break through them for the link up."

Across the broad front a large scale attack on Army Group A continued. Rail guns from the Caucuses pounded their positions with A-47 drones as well as the 2nd and 9th Divisions aimed to do in the remnants, while the North was holding out, so they could then focus on providing a safe rear guard against the main German onslaught from the North.

In the skies attacks on German radar systems continued at a furious pace. A-47 drones would continue to degrade the enemies capability in the area, to allow them hopefully to give some relief to the troops on the ground. Unfortunately this left the 12th Division and the Amazonian Phalanx with a greatly reduced level of air cover.

B-10 bombers would be scrambled from Asia soaring towards the frontline. At 800 kilometers out, outside of enemy radar range, they'd launch a massive attack, 30 bombers firing 12 missiles. Each was slower the ER-M-51 but was deployed with a reduced radar cross section, and infrared reduced emissions. This was supplemented by the EWAC dominance the Tianxia forces continued to have in the area reducing range of detection for the enemy.

With the enemy already using up many of their SAM missiles this next force of 360 would be used to pile on, flying towards air fields in Ukraine and the surviving radar defense grids to further degrade the enemy's capability there, and force the Luftwaffe into bases even further back into Germany, as well as destroy enemy aircraft as they re-armed.

This attack would also be supported by B-11 Bombers, 24 total launching a strike package of 180 air to air missiles, aimed at enemy AWACs and continually flying Lu-67s from 120 kilometers out, the rest was a devastating barrage of 1000 anti-radiational NGTAM missiles. The small fast flying missiles would be in air to ground variant flying down on enemy command vehicles, SAMs, and radar stations basically anything that had german radar signals.

F-5 fighters would continue to prove highly effective against the inertial navigation missiles as would the F-1s. The less advanced F-2 and A-47s would however face a more difficult picture. As enemy SAMs were reduced, the fighter force would turn on their directed energy weapons to fry the high speed data links on many missiles, jamming their capability to use plane based EO/IR scopes, and in many cases frying them out of the sky. But against the less IR emissions protected aircraft, and the slower moving ones, they planes were still vastly more vulnerable to attack. As a result, multiple A-47s fell out of the sky, along with about 6 F-2 fighters.

This would be immediately avenged however, by the Asian air force. As Lu-65s turned back on their sensors, the Tianxia Tu-160s would use their nose cone lasers to hit them, as they detected the powerful radar signals which the Lu-65s emitted. F-3 fighters would then stream across the Black Sea firing anti-radiational missiles to take out both the Lu-65s and the AWAC forces of the Germans which by now had to be running low.

F-5 and F-1 squadrons would continue concentrating their attacks on the Lu-67s, ambushing them with both numbers and capability, while playing a game of chicken with the Lu-65s, never allowing either to support the enemies ground offensive. Never the less there was an urgency. Tianxia could shoot down as many fighters as it could, but it needed to begin effecting the ground game in the Crimea if it was to save the airborne.

OOC: Excuse some of the briefness of the post, early morning today.

German 11th Army

"There will be no mercy to the Mongol Hordes! Continue the push forward!"

The German 11th Army continued to move forward, engaging the Amazonians. So far, the Germans were receiving light casualties, with two hundred men dead and three armored personnel carriers knocked out of commission. As the Amazonians moved backwards, elements of two Panzer Grenadier divisions moved forward in order to force open a corridor and make a push towards the surrounded forces of Army Group A. Meanwhile, additional units on the right and left began flanking maneuvers in order to cut off forces running attempting to escape east and west It wasn't a tight encirclement. That wasn't the plan. The plan was to force a surrender or wipe out as many enemies as possible. The massive tank guns of the Panzers continuously fired into the distance at the Amazonians. In addition, German self propelled artillery launched shells with thermo baric explosives to flush or burn the enemies out of their holes.

As the central unit moved forward, the order was given for troops of Army Group A to begin the withdrawal north

"Corridor is open. I repeat. Corridor open!", was the order that echoed throughout the communications links of Army Group A.

OOC: Response to Triyun

ST-Oberst-Gruppenführer Michael Frank stood on his command tank as he watched the battle unfold in front of him. The enemy force was now in full retreat, and his forces had taken minimal casualties

"Press the attack. These communist must not survive to live another day."

The 1 ST Panzer Corps began the final assault against the paratroopers. The men of the 1 ST Panzer Corps had a different demeanor than the men of the regular German Army. These men held the enemy forces in absolute contempt. The memories of their lost brothers in Kazakhstan and the Caucuses flooded their minds. In this final assault, they would be cutting out the cancer which had invested their Greater Germany. The Panzer VII's began their push forward, firing off their machine guns at the enemy personnel. The main guns of the tanks were also fired to decimate entire groups of the retreating enemy. Shalmanesar Armoured Personnel Carrier, being more agile than the Panzer VII's, would move around the tanks to support the infantry on the ground, using their basic equipment. The 1 ST Panzer Corps didn't have any problems taking prisoners; however, that was up to the enemy. If any shred of resistance was seen or suspected, they were dealt with by the barrel of a StA-9 handgun.

"Corridor is open. I repeat. Corridor open!"

The remnants of Army Group A began their slow withdrawal backwards, under the support of the German 11th Army. This support was in the form of thermo baric MLRS and shells, which was being fired at elements to the west of the Army Group A.

In the Ukraine, the enemy still was committed to the basic airfield attacks, which was still causing basic damaged all around. More RADAR and SAM launchers were loss; which was becoming more of an nuisance than a strategic loss.

The air in the skies continued to rage. So far, the Luftwaffe had lost another fourteen fighters and twelve multi-role fighters. However, they were not deterred as the next offensive was to begin at once. In the skies, the four squadrons of the GLI-133 Ank'ríat and five squadrons of the GLI-122 Blitz Bomber Squadrons were assembled over Reich air space well behind the front lines and with the protective cover of the Luftwaffe. While the enemy was targeting Xenian AWACs, there were still a quite a few in the skies, which were linked to the onboard systems of the bomber force assembled. Luftwaffe fighters also transmitted information.

In addition, from the ground, some one hundred drone missiles were launched into the skies with ECM warheads. As the missiles entered the target area towards the suspected Mongol fighters, their DFRM transponders clicked. The transponders in the missiles were set to mimic the basic fighter in the Luftwaffe, the Lu-65 and Lu-67. After the drone missiles were in the skies and causing havoc, the bombers, now converted into mobile missile trucks, launched a grand total of one hundred fifty ATAIM-10 Long Range Air-to-Air Missile. The missiles, using Inertial with LPI radar with backup imaging infrared and EO radar with lock-on-after-launch, home-on-jam, and home-on-emission capabilities, would home in on the enemy fighters to decimate them or cause as much damage as possible. The Ducted 'rocket-ramjet' engine with throttle control would push the missile towards a total speed of Mach 5.5 to a total range of 300km, although that was severely downgraded to 200km, if the target was maneuverable.

In the skies the Tianxia fighters would once again detect a large group of signals moving towards them. Because the drones were emitting radar signals intended to mimic those of the Lu-67 and Lu-65 fighters, the Tianxia FLIR scopes could home in on these drones to determine their true nature and then transmit the data throughout the airborne cloud to filter them out. This would be followed by rapid detection of the large radar cross sections of the Blitz and Ankriat Bombers. Using the enemies own radars instead of their own, the Tianxia forward fighter lines would go sensor passive, disrupting the home in on emit and home in on jam missiles.

Using their stealth and manuverability to great effect, the F-5 and F-1 fighters would continue to super cruise altering course as they detected the incoming radars with their high sensitive skins. Absorbing into the skins of the F-5 and F-1 fighters, several missiles would lose their marks while others despite a faint signal would still continue to close in on the fighters. Using ECM to engage still incoming missiles, chaff and flares would confuse enemy missiles, long enough for many of them to be targeted by pulse lasers to knock out their electronics. Still four F-1 fighters and an F-5 were launched to them as the squadrons closed in on the Lu-65s and Lu-67s.

Moving in on enemy forces, they would fire their pulse lasers again to cause disruptions in the enemy electronics systems, which against the shielded fighters would not be enough to bring them down, but would have a good chance to disrupt many of the early warning systems and data uplink sharing. This would be quickly supplemented by turning back on their AESA radars to hit the units with tailor streamed cyber attacks. Then in a one two punch, medium range NGTAMs with EO/IR, semi-active radar, and anti-radiational capabilities would be used to hit the Lu-65s and Lu-67s while they were at their most vulnerable.

As the Lu-67s and 65s were being engaged by the F-1 and F-5s, 24 F-3s streamed past the defensive lines. Using their speed, each would move to the outer band of attack range, firing off against the ALI-133s. Each of the bombers was attacked by 4 air to air missiles, each operating on two configurations of guidance to maximize kill probability and equipped with HDRM warheads to inflict maximum damage.

The F-2s had continued to fair worse, having been used for striking, ten of the fighters had been lost to the Germans, with three forced to make emergency landings on the nearest Tianxia air fields. The fighters were broken up into two groups. Twenty of the F-2s would go after the Xenias AWACs and radars using anti-radiational missiles both in air to air and air to ground configuration while using their pulse lasers to hit the radar tracking systems to create damage and fry out some of the transmitter and recievers so as to reduce jamming effectiveness while the missiles homed in to destroy the targets. 30 of them would be used to attack enemy air field munition stores with enemy runway effectiveness now reduced.

This was quickly followed on by the attack of now 600 Club K hypersonic cruise missiles launched from trains having been moved into Kazakhstan. The weapons would swarm toward enemy divisions and command centers, air plane hangars, and munitions bunkers in the Ukraine and the Crimea. The missiles would fly below radar, out of detection for most of their journey, reaching super sonic and then hypersonic as they made their final part of their journey within enemy weapons range.

As enemy radar systems would detect the incoming cruise missiles, EWACs would detect the signals forwarding them to the A-47 attack drones which would then engage enemy radar transmitting sites across the area to rapidly knock them out.

Two hundred SRBMs would be launched against ground positions, using larger area effect bomblets concentrating them against panzer forces which were attacking at the tip of the German Spear against the Amazonians and Tianxia forces.

On the ground, the rail guns worked frantically to support the assaults against the Germans. Much of the rail guns attacks were concentrated on knocking out Thermobaric MLRS launchers, and had to be committed away from offensive action towards defensive action. Reinforcement air drops were able to deliver additional NLOS-LS pod launchers to the ground troops below, but in limited numbers. Beyond this though they lacked the means of long range engagement against the enemy onslaught.

12th Division

The Twelfth Division had been utterly smashed. Kim and his unit had little hope of holding back the tide which they had been facing. They were holding out in the basement of a now demolished church as the Germans were closing in around them. The attack continued to be fiercer and fiercer as more and more Germans encircled them.

Nine men remained of Kim's Company. Kim looked around taking assessment of the situation. Kim smiled as he remembered a line from the Lion in Winter, When the fall was all that was left, it matters a great deal.

"Fix Bayonets." he ordered. As the men mounted their bayonets onto their weapons they stood up from the trenches. "FOR THE HORDE!"

Into the hail of gunfire the paratroopers went. Each felt as they reached the German line. Jumping onto a tank, as an enemy officer came out of the hatch, Kim thrust his bayonet into the man before leaping into the tank, pulling out all the pins of his grenades.

Across the front, Twelfth was fighting as hard as they could. Soldiers were resorting to fighting to the death rather than allowing the Germans to take them prisoner. The legacy of the Germans in the Caucuses was one, where every Tianxia soldier had internalized the choice, a quick death fighting, or a slow death in labor camps. Germany had shown that it considered the Asians sub human.

Meanwhile the 2nd Division had foughten its way through to the South and was now linking up with the 9th where it would begin to make a last stand. Elements had begun to be assembled for a force to cover their withdrawal from the Penninusula and regroup, as further divisions from the East were being redeployed to prepare and hit Germany with a full scale front of 700, 000 troops from Caucasia.

In the latest round of attacks, the Luftwaffe suffered five fighter and six multi-role fighter losses. In addition, runways were still under constant attack in the Ukraine. However, the Luftwaffe was able to convert operations to other areas in the Reich. The Luftwaffe began to switch their tactics around, while activating all their electronic warfare and using ECCM techniques to the fullest. The fighters would close the various gaps and engage the enemy fighters with short range ATAIM-8 air to air missiles. Meanwhile, the few RADAR and SAMs that were located under the bomber force (which are about 200km from the front lines) detected the enemy fighter force. In response, over fifty missiles were launched into the distance towards the enemy fighters, in hopes of protecting the bomber force. The bombers also began to drop chaff and flares and activated their own DFRM to act as a total counter for the missiles heading their way. In the end, three bombers were loss while the rest were able to return to bases deep inside Greater Germany.

Meanwhile, some RADAR and AWACs had detected the incoming Club K hypersonic cruise missiles. As the missiles came into range. The Metal Storm batteries opened fire with furious intent. 45mm auto cannons also fired into the general direction, firing thousands of fletched rounds to rip the missiles to bits. While the missiles hit into these munitions bunkers, the damage was superficial. Most bunkers were designed to withstand a nuclear attack. The Wehrmacht rarely used top level command centers, so it was quite obvious that the intelligence the enemy received was false at best. Still the missiles slammed into apartments and in some neighborhoods, causing the hate among the German population to sore against the Mongol hordes.

As the ground battle continued, the German spear of attack came under heavy attack by enemy SRBMs. As soon as the missiles were detected by the divisions air defense units, they were engaged. Dozens upon dozens of missiles launched into the skies. While most of the missiles were engaged, the Germans did take quite a few number of casualties. Meanwhile, the constant barrage from the rail guns were also causing grief to the spearhead in the center. In response, two hundred SRBMs were launched towards the position of the rail guns.

1 ST Panzer Corps

"Wipe them out. All of them."

The 1 ST Panzer Corps continued to push forward with great success. The Mongol hordes were continuously mowed down by the machine guns of the Panzer VII's and Arica Armored Personnel Carriers. German soldiers offered enemy troops the chance to surrender. However, the offers weren't usually taken, which resulted in the total destruction of the enemy bandits.

With the success of his Corps, ST-Oberst-Gruppenführer Michael Frank ordered that eighty percent of his forces begin to deploy southwards. The vast majority of this force would be armour, artillery and half of the infantry, which Frank thought would be needed to reinforce the main spear of attack. After reinforcing the main sphere with the German 11th Army, the force would make a coordinates push forward to wipe the enemy out completely.

Back at Headquarters

"Generalfeldmarschall, we are making great progress. We are pushing the the invasion force back on all fronts."

Generalfeldmarschall Freidman nodded, "Begin the final push. I want them out of Germany. I will alert the Reichskanzler on the developments."

Back on the ground

The few Xenian AWACs, in the skies, had detected the position of the retreating enemy units with their surface search RADAR. The positions were transmitted back to the various commands. In response, the Germans began to launch around the clock strikes against the enemy forces. These strikes were in the form of one hundred SRBMs. The strikes would be split into two intervals. Fifty missiles would be launched and thirty minutes later, another barrage would be launched. The first barrage consisted of thermobaric warheads; while, the second barrage consisted of anti personnel fletchet bomblets. The goal was to force the enemy force off the peninsula and secure Europe from the communist hordes.

Meanwhile, from silos throughout the Reich, over fifty ICBMs were launched into the skies. These ICBMs were targetted towards Horde airfields closest to the front but out of the tactical range of bombers and missiles. Using Tungsten Kinectic Bomblets, the airfields would be damaged or knocked out of commission completely. These attacks would be launched in intervals as well, with the second launch taking place thirty minutes after the first initial strikes.

The Amazons were not shown mercy and the Amazons would not give mercy. German artillery, armor, and strength had pushed the vastly under-prepared women back towards the hills, but there against the trees where the Amazons had no where to go, they held the German attack for as long as was possible. The objective for the demonic defenders, however, was not to eliminate the Amazons and instead the women found themselves pulverized in a field of fire as artillery shells and missiles plowed into their positions. For Rakel, as a commander, it was the hardest thing she ever watched. A minuscule amount of German infantry moving after them, leaving them to die by the pounding of cannon.

"They're trying to break the lines! They're trying to hit the Southern Crimea! We aren't holding the flank!" Said one of the Junior Commanders as Rakel watched the trees in front of her burst in great explosions from their impact of the flying shells.

"So this is it? Dying on a damn dirty slope, surrounded by fire. Well it isn't going to happen to me! Amazons! Ares will welcome us as daughters tonight. Be brave! Be brave!"

It was an echo of gun fire and the high pitched screaming of the Amazon warriors as they descended from the slopes overtaking the small German detachments which had engaged Rakel's battalion. Their goal, however impossible, was to once again close the hole that would allow the German Army to break through to the south, but with limited equipment and no true way to battle against the amount of soldiers and tanks barreling into the Caucuses. The Amazons would be stopped as if hitting a brick wall. There on the blackened plains of the Crimea, the Amazon Sentinel, Rakel Lupinko, would feel a bullet impact her chest and she let her head drop to the ground as she looked at the blood streaming down from her heart and stomach. It was a burning sensation at first as she dropped to her knees, watching the other Amazons charge past her body as her spear left her hands. Putting her hand over the wound, Rakel felt her life force flowing out of her onto the cold ground and she smiled. This would be the high-water mark of the Horde for what would become the War of the Caucuses, but she had seen destiny envelop her and the legend of the Amazons' ability to make war would never be forgotten from this point. Watching a German soldier run up to her and feeling his bayonet impact her kneeling body the legend splattered like her blood onto the ground. This day; Rakel became a goddess.

Then the world faded to a piercing light...forever.

---

Hundreds of miles away, the reports siphoned into the Great Tent and Theresia looked with tear filled eyes as all communication with the Amazon Phalanx was lost. The Germans were starting to hit Horde air bases in the Caucuses and the threat of the war expanding to be much more than a duel between the great powers of Asia and Europe became very real. Jia had already discussed the possibility of using total war on the German population, bombings of the heartland and a complete, non-stop drive to the capital at Berlin. The cost would be extreme and it wasn't something Theresia could allow to happen. That night, she forced herself into a War Council that Jia held in secret within the camp.

Walking in, the generals stared up at her, flanked by her Amazon Centurions. "Jia, the last of the reports have come in. We've freed Asia, it is time to stop the advance. I won't have more blood on my hands."

Tu-160 Rudolphs would engage the SRBMs, downing many of them as they ascended into the atmosphere. This would be coordinated with S-500 batteries which would engage and knock out further groups of them. Still several managed to get through knocking out eight of the forty rail gun batteries.

Moving against the SAM's with super cruise and high agility, the F-2 fighters rapidly would tune their radar absorbing skins to the frequencies of SAM lock ons, passive breaking the guidance on homing radar units. They would then use ECMs to confuse electro optical sensors, briefly blinding them with pulse lasers as they quickly exited the range of SAM tracking. The result was 4 F-2 fighters being lost to enemy SAM fire.

MEO Electro-optical early warning satellites rapidly detected the ascent of the ICBM launch plumes. German ICBMs ascended into the atmosphere, the Tianxia space forces targeted them. Three S-1 Space Planes deployed their high powered radars to track the targets, while an S-2 carrier deployed its radar receiver drones. This was then transmitted to the Tianxia space forces. "We have incoming bogies... possibly nuclear." Lt. General Zhou Fuhe said as he sat on the bridge of the S-2 Carrier TSSF-4. "Activate defensive satellites."

The strategic defense initiative went into action, as four chemical energy laser satellites were linked into the complex array of sensors tracking the missiles in their exiting phase. Firing into the weapons, the first four missiles were destroyed, less than a minute off the launch pad. The attack continued as more and more of the ICBMs were destroyed in their initial launch phases over Germany sending them back down to Earth.

As they reached into space, thirty five of the missiles remained, with the last three of the ICBMs falling down toward Germany with the mesosphere. Of these ten more were swiftly destroyed by the satellites due to the lack of diffusive gases present in the atmosphere. The space forces than quickly sent their data back down to ground forces as the missiles descended into the atmosphere. Twelve S-500 launchers activated, firing high atmosphere hypersonic SAMs, destroying twelve of the missiles before they could release their bomblets, sending many of the Tungsten rods into the Caspian Sea. Thirteen however descended into Kazakhstan.

Having programmed the path of the missiles, many fighter groups were able to launch in rapid succession to get out of the way before the missiles hit, knocking out four air fields.

When Jia heard of the escalation to strategic weapons, even non-nuclear he felt himself moving closer and closer to escalation. Germany could be smashed with a hammer. He knew they were exhausted. Almost half their army had been wiped out, at least a quarter of the luftwaffe with only some commitment of Horde Forces, the hadn't yet committed the main Army Group to Europe, or called in the Spartan or Mascurians, both ready to die for the Horde. Nor had strategic command yet been given permission to attack Germany, conventionally of course. An escalation and he could be in Berlin within the Month. Visari would be gone.

"Khagan, if you order this, we have to expect half a million casualties more at least on our side alone. Germany at least will use tactical nuclear weapons when we press conventional superiority." Wei said. "We have them by the balls, they $%&@ed up this war Jia. We've forced them out of Asia. A new Greater Nordlandic Reich is a dead dream. There neighbors all want to be our allies. Germany collapses on its own after this."

Jia growled, "But look Wei, look at the savagery they've done, and now they are escalating. They would be a thorn in Tianxia's side. Just like Cochin was."

"No... no they won't. We'll have a strategic depth we never would have had with Cochin." Wei said.

Jia rubbed his chin frustrated as he continued to look at the map, hoping for a moment of revelation on which was the best path to proceed forward.

As Theresia walked in the room, Wei let out a sigh of relief, perhaps it was the first time he ever had done so when Theresia entered a room.

Jia turned to Theresia, "Are you serious, after what he did?" Jia said to his wife, startled that she would agree with Wei. He paused as if stewing for a moment in his own anger, then taking a deep breath. He had to be careful not to let his own emotions get the best of him, but... "Our line seems to have stabilize at the edge of Crimea. Wei you're authorized to go meet with them. But... we do no more than withdraw from the Crimea. Germany has lost its mandate of heaven to govern the Caucuses or Kazakhstan... may the gods forgive us for leaving the rest to those butchers... for now at least." he said angrily.

Looking back at Theresia, he was still clearly unhappy, "We have been at war a long time..." he said.

The Grand Vizier nodded, leaving the Imperial Family and heading out to the message transmitting area. He sat down sending a cable to the Tianxia Ambassador in Athens to be sent immediately to the German Embassy in Athens.
From: The Desk of Wei Hai
To: The Desk of President Stahl
Subject: Meeting to Discuss and Armistice

Body:

Dear Mr. President:

With great difficulty, I have been able to procure a offer of an Armistice from our side towards yours, as well as an immediate cease fire on the front. I request a meeting in the Crimea along the front. Be advised, should we not have an armistice there is a significant chance of a massive escalation.

Regards,

Grand Vizier Wei Hai
It was hardly a respectful message, but respect in this war had been forfeited long ago, when the Germans resorted to the destruction of Caucasia.

Along the Front the elements of the 2nd Imperial had managed to link up with the 9th Airborne, and were now able to deploy a sufficient concentration of stand off and anti-armor weapons to hold onto the Eastern end of the Crimea. But it was at cost. As Chakri's unit had just reached the edge of the 9th PLAs defensive line, he had heard a screeching sound. A 60 mm mortar shell landed 2 meters from him. The advanced armor of the Imperial Knights had proven its metal. Slamming Earth and Shrapnel had slammed into him, as the shockwave force him back.

When the blast dust cleared, the Imperial Knight had lived, but his armor on the side had been torn to shreds, along with his left arm and leg. Additionally his left side rib cage was broken.

Being moved back to a field hospital, doctors were able to stabilize him, but he was now in a coma and requiring significant reconstructive surgery. Additionally his left arm's bicep and tricep had been torn apart. The fate of the man's military career was now up in the air.

Reich Chancellery

"And that is the message that I received this evening", Stahl and he looked around the room

Visari smirked, "After bringing death and destruction and placing the death of millions on their hands, they now want peace? These are how these scoundrels think. They do not think like us Europeans. We live looking towards the future. They live for today. Praying to false idols and gods that exist only in fairy tales. We must press on the advantage."

Stahl nodded, "Reichskanzler, while I do agree with everything you have said, our military has been exausted. Yes, we have reserves restructuring divisions and so forth. But we must end this on a high note. We have scored a strategic victory in the Crimea. We must end it here."

"I agree with the Reichspresident. We end it here. The military can continue to fight but at what cost? We have scored a strategic victory. We use it to our advantage", Chief of the Command of the Armed Forces Xecr Nist interjected.

"So be it. We end it here, as a victory against communism and the mongol hordes. Stahl, negotiate the specifics."

OOC: Negotiations done in CN RP IC

IC:

The meeting between Stahl and Wei was done in a single tent that had been setup along a tense line of control. Despite the cool sea breezes of the Black Sea, it felt sweltering. Soldiers from both sides who had been fighting each other not just at gun point, but at knife point hours earlier, now had to stand as honor guards for the two premiers.

As the two men entered the tend from opposite sides of the line of control, Wei went over to shake Stahl's hand. "Herr Stahl, I am guessing we are going to be dispensing with the pleasantries and keeping this meeting frank and brief." Wei said.

Returning the hand shake, the diminutive but cunning looking Jorhan Stahl sad down, "Yes, this baseless war has caused the death of millions. I suggest we end it for the benefit of both our countries." he said a slight arrogance still in his face.

Sitting down himself, Wei sighed, "Indeed, I am glad we see reason. We propose that our forces withdraw from the Crimea and that there is an indefinite cease fire. The areas we occupy on the Crimea and the current German holdings remain part of Greater Germany, the other areas conquered by the Horde be ceded to the Horde. Additionally the areas along the Black Sea on the Crimea within 50 kilometers of Caucasia and vice versa be established as a demilitarized zone. With reasonably light border forces holding their positions there."

Stahl nodded, "That is acceptable. Also, as a sign of good will on our part. We will transfer POWs back your nation as soon as possible. We request the same be done for our men and women under your control."

Wei smiled, this was on thing he did not mind doing, "Of course. We believe that the rules of war are quite clear on this. Additionally we will return all personal effects captured from killed in action. So is that everything for now then?"

"Yes, that is all. I do wish we could have met under better circumstances. Unfortunately, that is not the case. But who knows what the future holds." Stahl replied.

Wei nodded hesitantly, "Yes.... I agree. We'll see how the Imperator feels in the future, I imagine the Reichkanzler feels similarly."

Stahl shrugged, "The Reichskanzler has his moments. His opinions might change in the future."

Rising from his chair, Wei shook the man's hand once more, "Very well ... we shall meet again I have no doubt. Good day."

Returning the hand shake, Stahl nodded, "Good day."

With that, the German-Mongolian Conflict came to an end, for now. Within the coming days, the Federation forces would withdraw to their side of the DMV. With the 350, 000 troops kept to garrison and keep the peace. Germany had been beaten back, but at what cost?

A massive refugee crisis was now strung out across the West, and some tribes were looking to capitalize on the chaos for their own benefit. A new era was beginning for the Horde.
