[General Guidelines for CyberNations Roleplaying] *The first claim made by your nation must be within your in-game sphere of influence (SoI) unless you are claiming a protectorate. If you are claiming a protectorate it is up to the owner of the protectorate to give as much land as he decides. Any claims outside of your sphere after your first claim must be roleplayed out and accepted by the general community. *Take your in-game working citizen count (not total population/supporters) and multiply it by 0.80. This number is your maximum in-game soldier count. Multiply this number by 10.0 and this number will be your maximum CNRP soldier count. Tanks are directly equal to what your maximum is in-game. For example: If I have 10,000 citizens in-game, then I have 80,000 soldiers in RP. *Artillery, APCs, IFVs, etc. require common sense. If you have none, ask someone who has it. *You may use whatever citizen count you wish for your CNRP nation - but within reason. *Your in-game tech (technology) level is directly used in CNRP. See below for technology guidelines. *Your in-game navy is directly used in CNRP. Meaning, whatever you have IG = whatever you have in RP. The sole exception applies to submarines. The current submarine multiplier rule when converting from IG to IC fleets is as follows: 0-4,000 Infra, 0-500 tech: No multiplier 4,001-5,000 Infra, 501-1,000 tech: x2 5,001-6,000 Infra, 1,001-2,000 tech: x3 6,001-7,500 Infra, 2,001-3,500: x4 7,501-Infinity Infra, 3,501-Infinity: x5 If you're in different brackets for tech and infra, go with the lower one. *Nations with less than 500 tech must utilize half-squadrons of planes, which be be less than or equal to six planes per squadron. Planes are equal to maximum number capable of having in-game. *Nations with more than 500 tech may utilize full squadrons, which would be greater than six but capped at a maximum of twelve planes per squadron. Such 12-plane squadrons are equal to maximum number capable of having in-game. *The amount of nukes (warheads) you have is equal to your in game level of warheads. Everyone with standard nukes has fission bombs (max 500kt). Weapons research complexes give you hydrogen bombs (With an absolute maximum yield of 20 Mtons), and neutron weapons. This decision was reached by consulting with the GMs and at their urging. *Also, large Fuel air explosive bombs, chemical weapons, large EMP weapons, and biological weapons are capped at 50 and equal to the number of CMs you have in game. *You cannot arm your citizens and have them fight a war. It does not matter if you give them full time military training and automatic weapon, the maximum number of armed people you can field in a war is determined by your soldier count. These rules only apply if two combatants (or more) do not agree to change them. If I declare war on Uberstein and we both agree that he can use nuclear weapons on me then as long as we are the only two in the war he is allowed to use nuclear weapons. Game Moderator definition, rulings, etc *Go to this thread: Click me - This is a must for certain things. Just read through it occasionally for changes. Game Moderator "wipe" effects There are two kinds of wipe effects. *Type one, total impossibility. IE Death star. Total RP wiped. These kind of god mods are easy to spot, and will be called quickly, so little RP to go back and redo. *Type two, feature impossibility. IE Fighter jet with a laser. These are sometimes unnoticed, and when found / called, Rp should be paused, while they are argued out in a separate thread. If the feature is found to be impossible, then the Rp continues as if all actions had occurred minus that feature. IE, you still used your fighters, but since they didn't have lasers, they got annihilated. Communication *Whenever you say something that is not "in character", use the 'OOC:' tag before the statement. For example, if Uberstein decides to hold a gladiator tournament, we may insult the action in-game but then add "OOC: haha, nice" to show that we (in real life, not in game) like the idea. *If something is to be a private message, put "PRIVATE MESSAGE TO <nation name here>" before the message. While the rest of the community will be able to see the message, only the person you send it to will be able to respond or use that information. There are also other options, like *CLASSIFIED* or whatever else you feel like you need to put. Remember, if it isn't clearly labeled or RP'd as private it may be used against you. Treaties *Any treaty (MDP, ODP, economic, NAP, etc.) can be made in CNRP with another nation. For instance, if you sign a Mutual Defense Pact (MDP) with Uberstein, whenever you are attacked in CNRP, Uberstein will activate the MDP and attack whoever attacked you. Treaties can be broken. *Economic treaties are treaties where you trade with another nation (Be it food, technology, medicine), and both nations are to be treated as if they have the same level of whatever they're trading. This is usually called tech trading, see the tech trading rules below. Rerolling * A term meaning that you are RPing an entity that is not the one you first RP'd with. Quote [Technology] 2 tech = 1956 5 tech = 1964 15 tech = 1974 50 tech = 1984 100 tech = 1990 200 tech = 1996 500 tech = 2005 1000 tech = 2011 1500 tech = 2014 2000 tech = 2017 3000 tech = 2020 4000 tech = 2023 5000 tech = 2025 6000 tech = 2026 7000 tech = 2028 8000 tech = 2029 9000 tech = 2030 10000 tech = 2031 11000 tech = 2032 12000 tech = 2033 13000 tech = 2033 14000 tech = 2034 Logarithm Calculator <- click You have a minimum of 50 tech at all times. This is to ensure that tech sellers will not be at a disadvantage. Tech is capped at the current year, +20. This means, the maximum year is 2032 as of 2012 ie around 11,000 technology. From 2012 onwards, you can begin roleplaying technology that does not exist yet, but is within the rules of what can and cannot exist in CNRP. Lasers are allowed within limits, walkers are allowed, no space-based weapons, no mechs [Alá Gundam. Walkers that are feasible, such as IRL designs, are possible, but likely perform worse than standard vehicles.]) The Tech Efficiency formula has been abolished. RP is all. Roleplay well, and you will do well. Design statistics will matter less as there is an efficiency formula for your armies, showing how relatively effective they are. Technological Trade. Roleplayed entities can give/sell equipment to other entities, such a trade shall not be regulated. However, a nation with much lower tech will be required to receive support for maintenance from more advanced nations.

Edited June 20, 2012 by Mara Lithaen

Mara Lithaen
The Northern Imperium grew from the long-established "noble" families of Alaska - the oil barons, the land lords, the mineral owners and businessfolk. For more than half a century, a conglomeration of city-states reigned after the fall of the old United States, under the control of those same noble families. Technology backslid, leaving swords and primitive guns as the main weaponry of the Imperium, automatic weapons and heavier weapons being prized as rare valuables. Roughly a century ago, in the year 2050, Maxwell Lithaen took up the mantle of Emperor. Three years into his reign, a massive economic downturn devastated the country, leaving many commoners and even nobles penniless. Try though he might, Maxwell could not right the economy, and a revolution tore through the country like wildfire. The rebels were a smaller group than the loyalists, but they gathered in sufficient strength to break through the walls and gates of the Imperial Palace, storming through the halls and eventually killing the entirety of the loyal Lords and their troops. Maxwell went down fighting, chainsword battered out of his hand, ancient .45 spitting fire and fury with each pull of the trigger, a number of Alignment troops laying dead before him. It looked for a time as if the Imperium might vanish and become the Alaskan Alignment, but loyalists kept up a stubborn opposition to the Alignment. Sixteen years after Maxwell's capture and death, Alignment forces encountered a flame-haired girl, who possessed both her father's command presence and her mother's swift intellect - in addition to a black and steely silver chainsword that had not been seen since the Battle of the Palace. Her name, as it was soon rejoiced by the Loyalists and feared by the Alignment, was none other than Zaera Lithaen, spirited away from the palace in the middle of the fighting as a baby, her personal armsman carrying her to the Loyalist stronghold of Nome. Her mother, the Queen Nina Lithaen, died covering her child's escape, buying Michael, Zaera's armsman time to get Zaera away. For two years, a bitter, bloody, raging war erupted and raged across Alaska, a hundred major battles testing the will, mettle (and metal) of both sides, before Zaera launched a lightning armored offensive in a massive throw of the dice, withdrawing most of the Loyalists' aging M1A1 tanks into a single armored spear that drove straight through to the heart of the Imperium, Illarion. It almost failed on a number of occasions, and by the time she reached Illarion, her force was a shambles. She personally, however, left the safety of her tank and advanced with members of the First Guards directly into the Palace. Songs are sung throughout the drinking-halls and taverns of the Imperium even to this day of the fury the Guardsmen unleashed on their foes, but all pale in comparison to those sung of Zaera the Undaunted and her father's sword, Ragnarok. Her .45 dropped many an Alignment soldier, even as Guardsmen mowed down any that dared oppose them, and once they entered the halls of the Palace, Ragnarok came into its own, even in the era of firearms. Halls were short, and turns abrupt. Most Alignment soldiers could not raise their weapons in time, and were torn apart by the screaming teeth of Ragnarok. Zaera beheaded the False Emperor, Justin Reilly, who had attempted to rule the Imperium for eighteen years... and finally assumed the mantle of Empress, pulling the nation up by its' bootstraps with the use of astute policy and business decisions, as well as military might; and because of her father's capture, it was determined that no Imperial ruler would ever again be held against their will, and each successive generation was implanted with a self-activated plastic-explosive packed, surgical-plastic-shelled frag grenade, directly under their hearts, that could only be activated through the code words "Lima Lima Tango India" - Long Live the Imperium. Through her came the Emperor James the First, and while he was not particularly inspired as a leader, he was aware of the fact and generally left those qualified for their jobs to do them. Through him, came Emperor William, who died young from a heart attack, though not so early that he bequeathed no heir to the Empire, and through him our current Empress, Mara Lithaen the First. She was imprisoned by the Lunar Republic for killing a Procinctian rebel - truthfully, one of her own subjects - on Lunar soil. She is succeeded by Princess-Ascendant Jade Whitelighter-Lithaen, until her daughter Kayleigh Lithaen rises to the throne. Each is commanded by its' own High General, all unified under the command of the (current) Lady of the Army, Jane Whitelighter. Each section is subdivided into divisions, armies, battalions, etc. There are, at the moment, 38 divisions in the Army. Note that since the Mk-118 is a one-shot weapon, these projectiles are preloaded into the launcher tubes. HEDP 502 (High Explosive Dual Purpose) For use against bunkers, buildings, enemy personnel in the open and light armor. The projectile can be set to detonate on impact or with a slight delayed detonation. The heavier nose cap allows the HEDP projectile to penetrate light walls or windows and then explode, or "skipped" off the ground for an air-burst. For use against light armor, there is a smaller cone HEAT warhead with 150 mm (5.9 inches) of penetration against RHA. HP (High Penetration) Extra high penetration ability (up to 500 mm (19.7 inches) to 600 mm (23.6 inches) of RHA.) AST (Anti Structure Tandem-warheads) Designed for urban warfare where a projectile heavier than the HEDP AT4 is needed. Two warheads, first one a HEAT with a shallow cone resulting in less penetration but a wider hole, and a second follow through high-blast warhead. It has two settings: one for destroying bunkers and one for mouse holing a building wall for combat entry. HEAT (High Explosive Anti-Tank) The M-118 HEAT can penetrate up to 420 mm (16.5 inches) of RHA with beyond-armour effect. AT8 (Bunker Busting) A version of the M-118 where the standard HEAT projectile is replaced with the bunker busting warhead developed for the SMAW. AT12 (130mm Frontal Engagement Version) In the early 1990s, there were tests of a tandem charge 130-mm version (Bofors AT 12) that would be able to penetrate the front armor of any modern main battle tank. Made of multiple hard plates of Dragon Skin body armor, overlaid with a thin carapace of shock-absorbing plastic composite, the BASALT system has proven able to stop most modern rifle bullets 7.62 caliber and under, and reliably slow many heavy bullets to reduce damage and increase glancing-blow probability by causing the bullets to skip off the angled armor plates much like those of a vehicle. The helmet is equipped with a full respirator and rebreather system, sealed against all known NBC threats. The helmet's communications systems allow every member of a unit to be linked into a multi-tiered battle-net which allows extremely rapid exchange of data and orders, even to the point of allowing a general in the Octagon to see through the helmet-cam of a private on a distant battlefield to observe something. The helmet is also equipped with GPS and INS, allowing the user to always know their position relative to the rest of the planet. The joints are reinforced with a kevlar and steel-wire mesh, capable of stopping light handgun rounds and defeating most shrapnel entirely. The Mark II variant has been equipped with a light exoskeleton, with on-board power capacity for 72 hours of sustained heavy use, and increases the wearer's strength by carrying a maximum load of four hundred pounds. Following reports from soldiers in the field, the suit has also been equipped with cooling systems, using small tubes placed throughout the suit to ferry cool water about the body of the wearer, including the head and neck, to reduce the possibility of overheat. The helmet's visor has also been equipped with heating and cooling systems, preventing fog buildup in on the visor. The Mark III variant has been augmented with Hardwire reinforcement technologies across the flat plates of the armor. Essentially rebar for ceramic armor, the Hardwire reinforcement increases the resiliency of ceramic armor, while keeping the weight down (as compared to simply adding steel or ceramic layers). In that event, the honoring of the standing commitment takes precedence over this document, though both signatories should attempt to restrict the damage of their involvement as much as is prudent. 2. Both parties shall relax their international tariffs with the other, to foster the growth of trade and business interests from both nations, improving relations and strengthening ties between the two. Mara Lithaen
"Non timebo mala." ALMS-Only Military Equipment: CAS-151 Ares The ARES has quite the unique shape compared to other aircraft. It incorporates canards which enable safer flight at low altitude. The canards serve as the pitch control and are designed so that the canard surface reaches critical angle of attack sooner than the main wings, protecting the aircraft from stall while full roll control is retained. The canards have a wingspan of 19.2 feet (5.85 m) and are swept 7 degrees forward so they can be placed behind the cockpit. The main wing has a span of 35 feet (10.7 m) and a reference area of 191 sq. ft. (17.7 m2), not including the strakes. It is swept aft 16 degrees at the leading edge. The strakes are swept 49 degrees at the leading edge. These strakes, combined with a wet wing center-section area, form the bulk of the 2,200 lb (1000 kg, approximately 333 U.S. gallons) fuel capacity. The wing has conventional ailerons on the outboard trailing edge, and spoil-flaps (similar to the dive-brake flap) on the inboard trailing edges. The ailerons are actuated by push-rods, and the spoil-flaps are hydraulically operated. Directional stability is provided by twin boom-mounted fins, each of 18 sq ft (1.7 m2). area. Each has a cable-actuated rudder at its trailing edge. The rudder actuation system also drives the full-time mechanical nosewheel steering for ground operations. The engine inlet is another major unique feature of ARES. Since gun gas ingestion posed significant problems in other aircraft development programs (like A-10), the configuration of ARES was designed to avoid this problem: the engine inlet is entirely contained on the left side of the aircraft, and the gun is installed on the right side. The inlet has a circular cross section, and is straight into the fan face. The engine is mounted slightly transversely in the fuselage, with an 8-degree misalignment from the aircraft's longitudinal axis. The engine exhaust is turned back to the longitudinal axis by a curved composite tailpipe. A composite tailpipe was to help get the gun recoil reaction closer to the aircraft lateral center of gravity (CG) location, the gun is sub-merged as deeply as practical into the right side of the fuselage. Also, the fuselage is not centered about the aircraft centerline, but is offset to the left by three inches. This results in the firing barrel of the gun being only about 18 inches from the lateral CG. This minimizes the yaw movement caused by the recoil of the gun. The aircraft fuselage is almost completely made of fiberglass composite material installed over the foam core. The technique of making of composite aircraft fuselages has been perfected by Scaled Composites in previous aircraft. Performance Maximum speed: 464 kt (763 km/h) Range: 1200 nm (2200 km) Wing loading: 34 lb/sq. ft (166 kg/m2) Thrust/weight: 0.43 (at maximum weight) Armament 25 mm GAU-12/U Gatling cannon AAMs: AIM-9 Sidewinder air-to-ground weapons include: HYDRA/SHS and HYDRA/TBII rocket pods, as well as Hellfire-III ALAT/MHE air-launched anti-tank missiles.
