The Order of Light

Peter had been watching the Andorran's theatrics with some interest. Despite his best efforts the Andorran was doing a poor job at concealing his true intentions so Peter wasnt too surprised when Bridgette turned on him and that odd lizard creature. The speed and ferocity with which Bridgette turned on them was too much however. He slammed his palm down on the table and burst out a deep, booming laugh.

Bahahaha, ohh this is all too rich milady. Why leave? Why not just kill these two now and continue with our discussion. He paused for a moment, thinking. A hint of a smile began to creep across the corners of his mouth. I think a dead Duke would be an excellent way to show these powerbrokers you speak of that there is a new force in the world, think of the message it would send.

He stood and slowly walked around the table to where the guards were holding Paul and the lizard. His hand drifted to the hilt of the sabre he wore on his hip, his eyes locked on the Andorran Duke.

Brian could tell something was troubling Jesse's mind, "Something is troubling you, and it's not just because we couldn't save Paul."

"He is worth a lot more to them alive than dead. If she really wanted to kill him she already would have done so. Besides he was right, it's not like he had much of a career left after the Empress took over. He knew there was a big chance of not coming back alive and nothing I could say would have stopped him. As for Geoffrey, he is either very evil or just plain stupid. I mean even if she told him about this mission why would he risk himself going as well without even telling us. Something is going on and I intend to find out what it is. If Geoffrey is committing treason here then he needs to be punished for it."

(OOC: This next part was also planned by both me and Sarah)

Renard was monitoring them from Paris and could see some people heading towards their position. It was Bridgette's guards, she had sent her little army there after them. "Guys you might want to take some defensive positions while waiting for the Sikorsky SH-3 Sea King to get there. It should be there within a few minutes so just hold out for a few more minutes."

They got into defensible positions in a ditch right in front of the LZ. They would hold out until the helicopter came. Once the guards came into range they would open fire.

Meanwhile Paul just stared at Peter angrily, "Don't worry, you will get what is coming to you soon enough." He looks at everyone else in the room. "You all will get what is coming to you." He then looks back at Peter, "Everyone has their time, and yours is coming very soon."

Bridgette turned to Peter as he walked forward, eying the Andorran Duke with his sword. "Well Herr Duncan, you are more than welcome to stay here. In fact if you would want to take the time, before we board the jet I can even show you around the annex of the castle." She said returning the sly smile he seemed to favor. "As to you threatening my guest, I will have none of it, while Herr Rousseau and his Lizard Friend are obviously problems that need taken care of, I have a better way of getting what I want rather than spilling blood. So I suggest you take your eyes off my prize and either humor me downstairs or if no one else has any objections, we can depart to take our meeting to the clouds. Objections?"

Before leading the entourage out of the study, Bridgette took Paul's hand and held it near her mouth. "But you my sweet, we will have a lot of time to get to know each other. You and your little friends. If anything, that is why I want to wait around for a bit, so that I can transport them with us."

---

As for the battle occurring outside of Bridgette's compound, while Delta Squad had managed to get a few snowmobiles, they seemed to greatly underestimate the willpower and strategic mindset of the mad woman's private army. There was in truth few places to create a 'defensible' in the Swedish fields where a helicopter could also land. In addition, the helicopter probably wouldn't have much time as there was a good chance that Swedish authorities were on their way as well, if the helicopter could even get through and that would make things very bad for the members of Delta Squad. Nevertheless, Bridgette's forces found them in a field and while they could defend the approach through the small cluster of woods they had been chased through; it was easy enough to surround the Landing Zone and move in from there.

The fire would come from all sides as the guards created a circle and slowly began to strangle Delta Squad's position. If the helicopter got there, even if the helicopter did get there, a foolish frontal assault as they had done was not going to prevent casualties. They were withdrawing and Bridgette made sure that she would have prisoners.

Kevin watched the interchange between this Paul character, the lizard creature and the wonderful Bridgette with a child like smile of glee. The bickering, the arguing the sense of tension in the air it was almost enough to make him want to reach out and wring somebody's neck with his own hands. It was probally good that he didn't after all he was such a weakling that he could hardly beat a teenager, a fat one at that, in an arm wrestling contest, he had tried. Instead he just stood back and watched and listened.

As the sound of weapon fire continued to filter in from outside he turned his thoughts onto Viola, she was his bodyguard and a very good one at that. Though he was quite happy he had left her back at his mansion. She was quite the loose cannon and if she had been here she probally would have launched herself at Paul or the lizard and strangled them to death. Still when they worked as well as she did, and looked even better, you looked past such things.

His thoughts were broken as Bridgette mentioned that the meeting should take to the air now that this special forces team had ruined this one. "Our esteemed leader has a good point, getting us in the air should make it easier to avoid anymore interruptions". Turning he looked across to where the man Paul stood and thought he recognised the man and when they mentioned Paul of Andorra he smiled in quite a nasty way.

"Oh of Andorra you say. I believe I know of this team they have outside or at least some of them" replied Kevin taking a few steps forward. "I must say Paul I am impressed that you didn't react to myself when I mentioned Black Death. I think they are still finding dead bodies from our little chemical attack if I am correct" laughing at his own words Kevin continued talking.

"I suggest you and your team do as the lovely Mrs Bridgette asks, because if you don't I can always arrange some sort of repeat performance. We still have some assets in the area". Turning to face Bridgette he pulled out a mobile phone and held it in one hand, fingers ready over the keys. "All it would take is one call my dear and I can have a suitable... incident occur in Andorra. That is if you would like that?" he said with a questioning look.

"Can the dick waving end here?" Franz blurted out. He turned to Kevin, "Look, I'm sure you all think you're in the big leagues and have some fantastic sorry excuses for mercenaries. But..." he said. "You don't."

He looked at Nergal smirking arrogantly. "How many electronic signal intelligence posts would pick up that mobile phone signal?"

Franz's gaze returned to Bridgette. His preference was that she not create too much of an incident, even if Jia did not move, there was no guarantee that the Ice !@#$%* wouldn't if the terrorism level in Europe got too high. Then her organization and possibly her, would go underground.

"I think it would be wise to leave. With all the people coming here, its likely this area is under some surveillance, now an automatic weapons fire fight?" he asked rhetorically. "We'd be safer in the air."

Kevin couldn't help it and his booming laughter filled the room before he managed to grip his sides and get himself under control. Taking a few deep breaths Kevin steadied himself before speaking. "You are of course quite right, my "mercenaries" are nothing more than those who are shunned from the world or are out looking for some excitement. However, do not under estimate them they can still be useful in a fight". Flipping the phone shut, he quickly put it back in his suit's pocket.

"Hmm my apologies I will keep myself under control. Usually I have my bodyguard here to keep me from saying something stupid but I left her behind. I'll be quiet and follow your leads" replied Kevin truthfully and respectfully with a slight nod of his head.

He chuckled softly, it sounded like Saenger had something much more sinister planned, and he didnt mind the sound of that. I would be delighted to see some more of what you're hiding around this castle milady, assuming you will be the one giving the tour. This is your show after all, so I will defer to your best judgement of course.

He turned to walk back to the table, but as he did so he whispered just loud enough for Paul to hear, watch your back Andorran, she may not want you dead but I do.

"If I may, Bridgette? I may be of some assistance in such a capacity, I have the ability to authorize flight plans to anywhere in the country, or out of the nation altogether, directly with the Swedish Air Force, without question. Noise...noise...noise...noise. Of with the gun fire from outside, the screaming and yelling of the guards in the rooms throughout the castle and the seemingly never ending bickering that these idiots behind her were capable of, Bridgette could barely hear herself think. One moment they wanted to stay, the next moment they wanted to fly. Patriotism...the glory of the American Empire...The Chinese and the Greeks. In the middle of the room she could feel herself slipping out of her mind and something began to build deep down inside.

"No..." She stopped and held her stomach for a moment. She could feel energy spreading to her arms, to her thighs, filling her chest, and running down her legs.

I would be delighted to see some more of what you're hiding around this castle milady, assuming you will be the one giving the tour. This is your show after all, so I will defer to your best judgement of course.

Suddenly Bridgette turned around and moving past Paul and the Lizard, grabbed Kevin and Peter's necks hoisting them up in the air. "You're damn well right this is my show and you will not question me again or I will kill you right now." Her face turned over towards the other men in the room and her eyes flashed light polished sapphire. "Not another word about your pasts. I don't give a $%&@ about your pasts. You could have all been rotting in the abyss before you came here and it makes no difference to me. Your talk of glory is hollow and I suggest you all realize that you are here and you aren't leaving." Her voice was huskier and her arms bulged slightly as she threw Peter and Kevin into Franz and Theo. "Welcome to Hell."

As she turned back to one of the guards, smoothing her hair, she smiled at Paul. "Load the Duke and the Lizard into the storage cell on the plane. I believe we have cages there from my past experiments with the Polar Bears."

"We do, Miss Saenger. Are you...okay?" Said the guard.

"I will be if you stop asking stupid questions. Then, escort my guests to the master cabin. Serve them dinner and I will be up shortly. Understand, or do I need to write it out for you?"

"Not at all Fraulein." The guards immediately filled out and fifteen minutes later, the guests had been escorted down to the plane while Paul and the Lizard were locked up on the storage compartment below, in their respected cages. Bridgette would deal with them later. It was a decently sized jet, one that could take off from a custom-made runway in the bleak Swedish countryside.

Meanwhile, Bridgette waited back in her study for the report of Delta Squad's attack and reaching into her desk she pulled out a small yellow syringe and pushed it into her arm. "That was too close." She sighed with relief. "You can't slip like that...God damn you Ming. You've turned me into a goddamn monster." Her hands tightened on the syringe and it broke causing shards of glass to fall to the floor. "But...it felt...so...damn...good."

There she is. Franz thought to himself as he watched her react. He readied himself for if she lost it completely and he had to intervene. Not that it would have mattered much. Twenty of the best trained men without equipment would be torn to pieces by her. His eyes observed as she made her move. Would she kill them? Would she go blue?

Suddenly the shape of a man hurled towards him as he caught Peter. He was surprised by the force, tumbling over in his chair. She was definitely putting some energy into it. Franz wondered how much Rhee held back during prep work for the mission... or if she was just that much better. Saengar... his thought interrupted by a second body coming at him. Rolling on the floor, he barely evaded getting hit a second time. Damn.

He sighed knowing the incident was passing... but. Holy !@#$ I'm about to get onto a air plane with that lady. he thought to himself. A knot formed in his stomach. He'd have to be very careful on this mission.

Theo, already being on his feet, was stunned when Bridgette picked up the two men by their necks, in her hands, his eyes seeming to widen as this woman, whose appearance was slender at first. Theo ducked around the body thrown at him, his reflexes in full swing now, he had taken his hand off his ceremonial sabre. He had stayed silent when the two men who had taunted the agent who had his cover blown foolishly it seemed, and by the sounds of the receding gunfire, his friends had either been chased off or killed. Bridgette had asserted charge of the meeting again by the force of a wrath that had sent a chill down Theo's spine. His heart was beating fast, as he watched Bridgette effortlessly lobbed the terrorist, Kevin, across the room at him.

Good Lord, thought Theo, as his fight or flight mechanisms started to kick in, what have I gotten myself into. He looked over at the other man who had had the unpleasant surprise of getting one of the two men lobbed across the room at them, Franz.

Theo silently kept his composure, and stiffened his stance, knowing that he could not walk away now, even if he wanted to. As he walked without incident to the plane that Bridgette had ordered the entourage loaded aboard, he let his mind process the past hour or two over in his head. As his thoughts ran over in his head, the disdain he had been shown despite pledging his support was sending second thoughts coursing through his consciousness. It was quite obvious that Bridgette was in charge of the show, he accepted that from the beginning, however her open contempt for the goals of those now gathering around her had planted a new train of thought in Theo's mind. They were all expendable, at some point or another. He was well aware, being the soldier that he was, that some forms of employment had sources of risk about them. Yes, he had been willing to lay down his life to see that his country, the country he loved saw a better future, and his involvement in this plot revolved around that notion.

He stayed bitterly quiet, slowly eating a little of the food served to them, which was not at all bad, he just didn't have the appetite for it. After pushing away the food he couldn't continue to eat, his mind would continue to work overtime, as his eyes slowly closed, his body telling him to sleep, he might need the rest later, but he had not rested before surveying the country below them for a few minutes... the country he loved so dear...

Salvatore shared the thoughts of both Theo and Franz, the brute force and response by Bridgette had stunned him for a moment until he could regain his normal posture, while he didn't have doubts on his pledge of loyalty yet he did realize this was one woman he had to be careful with. For one second he even had regrets over going unarmed. The group of idiots didn't exactly fill him with confidence either, using a cellphone to call a terror attack in the Athenian sphere, were they trying to get a witchhunt started?

He would follow the group to another room where he found himself walking next to Theo.

"Greetings, I don't think we've been introduced yet. Salvatore Farnese." He said extending a hand.

Just before Paul and Geoffrey were to be sent to the cargo area of the plane, "And as I said before. All your times of death will be coming very soon. The thing is that they already knew who you are and that you are here, Jesse and the rest of them do not know everything about you guys but they know enough, enough to have anyone here who is not already on the run to be put in prison for life, or just executed on the spot. But of course it is the Empress's decision on what to do with that info. I knew what I was risking when I came here and although they couldn't capture you guys this time does not mean they will stop trying. No matter where you go and where you try to hide, all your days are numbered, and it is only a matter of time before they come for all of you. This is just the beginning."

Meanwhile at the LZ the armored helicopter did arrive but they were under heavy fire. As they ran for where the helicopter was Ben was hit in the thigh, "Aww crap."

Jesse was not going to leave a man behind, "We're going to get you out of here."

Ben pushed him away. He did not want them to die trying to save him, "No. Pulling me will only slow you guys down and get you killed. This is your only chance of escape and you need to take it. You need to finish the mission and take out Bridgette, you also need to track down and take out all the others that were there. Bridgette, Peter, Kevin, all those bad people that were in there must be killed or captured. Go now Jesse, I know what I am doing."

Jesse, Brian, Nathan, and Anthony got onto the copter and it took off heading south. It would later refuel in Northern Germany and then head streight for Paris.

During the journey just after they left Swedish airspace Jesse and Brian got into another conversation. Brian spoke first, "Jesse, I don't know if they killed him or captured him but right now that does not matter because he was right. We need to capture or kill them to stop what they are planning. We all knew a day like this would come, a day where we would fight not only for the ones we love and care about but for the free people of the world. If we allow these tyrants to take over the whole world as we know it will be plunged into chaos and we cannot let that happen. We all knew the risks when we first formed this team back in Noveria (OOC: What is now New Portugal). Paul knew the risks when he volunteered to go in at the party, he knew there was a very large chance they he would get captured or killed and that didn't stop him, and it didn't stop us from going in to help as well. Ben basically sacrificed himself so that we may live and continue the mission, and we will finish it. Even if it kills us in the process."

Jesse was sad but that speech did seem to lift his spirits as well, "You are right, and we cannot let their sacrifices go in vain. We will take out Bridgette and the other evil people that were there one by one until we can avenge them."

Nathan wasn't sure, "But Jesse we don't even know if they are dead. Ben was hit but it wasn't too bad. He was probably captured as well."

"Then when we are able to we will rescue them but until then we will continue our mission to take out Bridgette and those working with her. The first thing we need to do is get back to the Palace of Versailles and tell the Empress what we saw. Renard how much audio and video data do you have?"

Renard was in the ops center in Paris used by France's version of the CIA, "We have enough to basically condemn everyone that was in that room, but it is the Empress's ultimate decision on what to do with it. You guys just need to get back here so you can fill out your reports on what you guys personally experienced there."

Brian still did not like paperwork, "No matter what we do we still have to do all the paperwork at the end of it."

Jesse added, "And it won't be the last. We might have lost this battle but it is only the beginning, and I will see it through to the end."

"Fraulein?"

Bridgette turned from the window as two guards appeared at the entrance of her study appeared with Ben, handcuffed, under their command. She smiled, barring her white teeth as she walked over to the captured member of Delta Squad and ran her hands down his chin. "Is this one of the men who assaulted the compound?"

"It is, Fraulein, the rest were able to escape in a helicopter escort."

"So you let them get away?" She shook her head. "I expected better out of your men Pyjor, but I understand, things are at times out of our control. I'm glad you at least got me this succulent little prize." Her eyes met with Ben's, "We're going to have so much fun, you and I. In fact, we're going to become best friends." Then moving away, she put on her peacoat and walked out of the study. "Strip him and throw him in a second storage hold, away from the others. Then tell Dr. Y, I want him prepped for injection when we land in the Pacific. Jinho can have a partner."

---

The plane took off a few moments later after all the cargo had been loaded. In the main cabin, Bridgette threw open the doors to find her guests still eating dinner, many of the talkative men who had been so boisterous in the parlor now had barely touched their food. She was almost giddy, a little slip now and then could really remind people where their new loyalties lay. "Well gentlemen, now that I see we've all lost our energy from before. Maybe we can get down to business." She stretched her arms out and took a seat at the head of the table in the cabin. "Personally, I feel amazing, so much energy. So lets get down to business."

After a plate of food and a glass of wine was brought to her, she seemed to relax much more. "What is going to happen, gentlemen, is a series of rebellions will be ignited across the world, in both small states and larger territories. While there is always the potential to cause a world war, which wouldn't be a terrible move. It won't change much. We are here to remind leaders, leaders who are outside of our influence, that they are our targets. We will fear them into order and in so many words, bring the strongest of countries to their knees. To do this of course, it requires some shake up. Especially in the great alliances of the world. The Eurasian Alliance for one along with the Indian Ocean Entente. A mixture of internal troubles and external problems will be enough to bring the world to friction and then we can crank up the heat a bit. Those leaders who would sacrifice their own people and this world, they will be our first objective. Since their people are of no consequence to them, they are of no consequence to us."

She looked around the table and nodded. "I am thankful though, we have such a dynamic group. So lets start at the beginning. Nergal, I believe that there might be some nationalistic problems in South America with the Germans and the Asians moving into colonize. Perhaps setting up a meeting with the Greenlanders or other American nationalists might not be a bad idea. Any inside terrorism you can afford to create would be magnificent as well. I know something about the two idiots that travel from Germany, to Sri Lanka, to South America, they're obsessed with opulence. Bring their buildings down and I will work on something to make their Space Colonies a thing of the past.

Herr Duncan, you and Herr Tenzov can work partially together for this. The Federation of the East has become rather secure of late, but there are factions deep within the borders that at least Herr Tenzov can get access too, meanwhile, Duncan, I know the Nova Portuguese probably have an eye on Alaska, see if you can start up a nationalist rebellion in Alaska that would bring our two power players to bear with each other. Procentia might even be of some help. They're a rather small pest with a loud bark.

Herr Farnese and Herr Von Strimoff, your individual histories could present an interesting opportunity to keep Europe on edge. It is a shame that Athens and Greater Germany have an alliance of convenience. Communists and Fascists living so close to each other and without any tension? Funny how when the Martens Dynasty was in power Europe seemed about to explode, but when my nephew gains power, things seem to relax. With the rising tension and war seeming so close, a cataclysm will definitely make them listen to the changing winds.

Kingswell, you will be dealing with the Indian Ocean Entente, the Kingdom of Cochin and the People of Aeon deal with few problems and a question of their security, especially if the attacks originate from either themselves against each other or from the Eurasian Alliance. Tension, my friends, if you can create tension, they will listen to the person who can stop it and end the fear."

Then turning to Theo, Bridgette simply smiled knowing she had missed him. But she never spoke, only continuing to eat and descend into idle conversation. She had her own ideas planned for the Swede.

After taking a sip from his glass Salvatore nodded in confirmation. "This is a great plan miss Saenger however I must ask, right now I do have the financial resources to build a small army however arming them against the machine that is the Athenian internal and external security network will be significantly harder without the proper equipment. Recents years have shown you to be an incredibly resourceful woman with access to some very specific equipment and weapons. Would I be able to obtain access to these resources?" He asked while he put down his glass.

"I believe, Salvatore, that I can arrange some equipment for something to strike in Italy. I know there have been Italian Rebellions in the past, though they have not been well funded. If you can perhaps make this rebellion vocal enough to get world support, we might be able to create a dynamic. Depending on who would like to see Athens weakened at that moment, perhaps Cochin, perhaps Guyana, even Germany, would welcome an Italian Rebellion and I will see if we can't funding to come from across the globe. However, I have other more...Avant-Garde ways of keeping your rebellion in swing. When we reach the Pacific, I'll show you what tools I can offer. I think you'll find them to be rather agreeable."

Franz nodded, he would need to find resources in order to gain the trust of Saengar. At the same time he would also need to be careful about the situation regarding UFE-German Alliance. This would be a delicate assignment. If they were heading towards the Pacific though, he'd have a chance to check in. The Federation's signal dominance there was overwhelming and there were plenty of stations to covertly check in and receive instructions. Possibly even get a message to Berlin... although.

Taking a sip of his wine he paused, "I will see what I can do Chancellor Saengar." he said.

"Colonel Theo Torstenson, a pleasure, Herr Farnese," nodded Theo, as he picked away at his supper, pausing for a moment to shake his hand.

---

Theo had probably gotten about fifteen minutes of shuteye before Bridgette made her appearance in the main cabin of the plane, sitting down to have dinner with the other members of the entourage. Although he had his reservations, having been one of the few to shy away from the dinner table after eating as much as he could, he returned to his place at the dinner table. He was not out of this scheme yet, although his feelings were much more guarded, he took another glass of wine as he intently listened to Bridgette's speech. The entire plan seemed to make sense create tensions amongst the global powers, internal strife could bring even the strongest of states to its knees.

As she handed out the tasks to the various members of the entourage, spread around the table, Theo looked down at his glass of wine, swirling its contents around in circles as he looked at it, before taking another sip. As Bridgette finished doling out the assignment to Kingswell, Theo looked up expectantly at the ex-Chancellor, expecting his own assignment, only catching a smile from her, which he returned politely. When she turned to speak with another member of the entourage, Theo just stared for a moment at her, his face blushing slightly, before looking down at the glass of wine in his hand for a moment, taking another sip from the flute, finishing off the alcohol. The racing thoughts, which he had been able to lull into complacency with his quick nap, especially after his contemplations following their evacuation from the castle, began to slowly whirl again. There could be a number of reasons why she hadn't given him an assignment, and his mind was going over every scenario, he was paid to not only guard the Queen, he was paid to think.

There was a reason behind her exclusion of him in her plans, and he was certain he'd know soon enough why she had divvied out assignments the way she did, or in this case, where an assignment was not handed out. She seemed to be calmer, and had remained her assertive self, and appeared to be much more calm then when things had reached a climax at the castle. He put his curious mind at ease, and relaxed his demeanor as best he could, also participating more in the small talk. His mind able to rest on the notion that his curiosity would be satiated by the alluring, yet dangerous, ex-chancellor sometime in the near future.

"As you wish, ma'am." Nergal's resources were wide considering the massive swathes of devastated territory he could draw men and material from. There were countless pieces of a mighty industrial war machine that only needed to be picked up. Hundreds of thousands of ex-Imperials still followed his banner, and they would answer his call regardless of the circumstance. Massive stores of gems and lumber served to provide a financial basis from which to support any endeavors on behalf of the order of light. Teams of his engineers had even managed to raise a single carrier from the graveyard outside Imperial Center; the CAS Altar of Duty was ready for operations.

"I am available for supporting any revolutions, you know." He bared his teeth in a not-quite smile. "The opportunity for bloodshed in the name of change pleases me greatly."

After Bridgette's show of strength and force of will Kevin had changed. Gone was any sign of boisterous and immature behaviour instead he withdrew into himself becoming quiet and distant. Sitting down for dinner he nursed his right shoulder which had been badly bruised in the impact from Bridgette's throw, every now and then he would reach up and brush his suit as if trying to soothe the pain. He had been stupid so very stupid and he knew that if he wanted to be taken seriousally he would have to change his whole attitude.

If Viola had been here she would have thanked Bridgette for giving Kevin the quick dose of reality he needed to start acting like a real man, before killing her for attacking him. Luckily she was not.

Kevin hardly touched his food, taking only small but constant bites giving himself just enough energy to keep himself going. When Bridgette entered the room he carefully watched her with guarded eyes, fighting the urge to recoil from her sight. Her attitude had clearly calmed down since the earlier incident at the castle and as she began to speak to everybody he allowed himself to calm down.

He listened to Bridgette as she handed out everyone's assignment and then when his turn came up he raised his head and looked her straight in the eyes to show her that he was paying a close proffessional attention to her commands. He said nothing as she explained to him that his theater of operations was to be the Indian Ocean more specifically the nations of Cochin and Aeon.

"So she wants these nations to question their security and to have the tension raised?" he thought turning the words over and over again in his mind. "The easiest way would be to have my men carry out a number of bombings and that would.... no that would not accomplish what she wants. Hmm but what if one of these nations was to be attacked by the other?" With a smile Kevin looked up and waited for Bridgette to finish her current conversation before getting her attention.

"My Lady Bridgette I shall have all my resources made ready for use and I will endevour to have a plan of action ready as soon as possible. I would also like to apologise for my earlier behaviour. I was acting foolishly and I promise it will not happen again" he said apologetically.

Paul was in the cargo hold in a cage nearby the one where Geoffrey(or whoever the chimera guy is) was. He was angry, after what this guy said back in the party he couldn't tell if this was really Geoffrey, or even someone sent by the cult, but at this point he did not care, "Why, why were you there. At this point I don't care if you are Geoffrey or not. Why where you there? If you are not Geoffrey than who the $%&@ are you and who do you work for. They can't hear us down here so it won't matter what you say?"

Once Jesse and Delta got back to Paris he went to the French CIA headquarters(OOC: No I do not know what we are supposed to call them yet) where he found Renard, "Do you know what she is planning yet."

Renard, "Not quite."

Jesse, "Do you have any ideas?"

Renard, "Besides taking over the world and getting revenge on the UFE and Athens for reasons I do not know yet, NO."

Jesse, "Did you actually do much while we were on our way back."

Renard, "Besides looking over the info on who was there, not really."

Jesse got a pissed look on his face and Renard then had a scared look, "Please don't shoot me."

That is when Brian had to step in, "Don't worry about him. He is still pissed and needs some alone time. I guess we all do. Do you know where the Empress is?"

Renard answered, "Probably at the palace. I'm sure you will be able to find her easily if you ask around."

Brian asked another question, "Did you try to tell her what was going on. That they plan to attack Athens and the UFE."

Renard, "Hadn't quite gotten to that yet either." Now Brian had an angry face. "Hey I've heard of people of interrupt world leaders while they are busy and bad things happen to them. I do not want that happen to me. If you want to talk to her you are going to have to speak with someone higher up the command tree first. Or just go to her and hope she is in a good mood."

They then went back to the palace to talk to the Empress.

"And what targets should we try for Bridgette," Tenzov asked, "we have a lot to do and little time to pull it off. The window to use the icemen is quickly coming to a close. The Amur Police are ramping up their land activity, and as far as Marscurians go, these few are a bit sharper than the rest."

OOC: This next post was done in an IRC chat between me and Sarah. It is the meeting between Jesse and Empress Therese.

They get to the palace and go in to talk to the Empress.

Jesse yells, "Does anyone here know where the Empress is? We have some important thingsto discuss and I am sure she is expecting us."

Brian, "She is probably in the throne room. Also known as the Salon of Apollo."

Jesse, "Good job Brian. You did your history homework."

After being told to be quiet in Versailles, Jesse is taken by a few Imperial Guards to the Empress' private quarters. Upon his entrance, Therese looks up from her paperwork staring at him with her glossy eyes."Can I help you?"

Jesse, "We come with new info, and sorrows, and I think Nathan got a new scar. Anyways we have enough video and audio evidence to suggest that Bridgette may be planning to attack the UFE and Athens." He then added, "SOON."

Empress Therese answered, "Bridgette Saenger? The Ex-Chancellor of Austria?"

"Yes. She had a little party at a castle she bought in Sweden with a lot of bad people." Jesse was trying to hold back tears but let one slip. "Lets just say our infiltration did not work well. And we also have video proof that someone close to you and Paul betrayed him into that trap."

"Well, that is tragic, Jesse." She said and took his shoulders. "Bu-...Paul and someone betrayed me?"

"Brian do you have the video disk?"

He answered, "Yes sir."

"Put it into the DVD player and show her what we mean."

The video then came up and showed what Paul was seeing and hearing during the event "This is from Paul's point of view. If you didn't guess by now the other guy she captured with him seems to be Geoffrey. The former King of Angevin."

Therese frowned and shook her head. "Are you saying that Geoffrey, is in league with the Ex-Chancellor?"

Jesse answered, "Terrorist is what I call her right now. When he talked it didn't seem to be him to me but I got to ask, Do you know where Geoffrey is right now?"

"No, to be quite honest, I haven't seen him. But, treason? That seems rather odd."

"That is what I am thinking. When he was talking it just didn't seem to be him. Like something was controlling him. Right now I don't know what though."

"Well you can't be sure of that. Needless to say, I will be conducting an investigation into this possible treason. I appreciate you getting the information to me."

"My grandfather would probably know what was going on. He is usually the expert when it comes to wierd things like this. Too bad he is dead now."

"It's not weird, it's either Geoffrey is a traitor or he isn't. There's nothing supernatural here. There is no room for the supernatural when it comes to politics. My own problems aside."

"I understand. What do you want us to do next?"

"It's hard to say, with the investigation that will have to happen in France. I would rather you stay put for now. We can discuss further options later. I will let the Chinese and Athenian ambassadors know about the potential threat."

"OK. Maybe we can help with the investigation by talking to some people. Paul has been his friend since they were kids so I can't see why he would betray him like this. But there has to be more to it. I don't intend on interrogating Christine unless that is the last possible option but there has to be a lot more people that can tell us about his past with Paul if neither of them are here to tell us themselves."

"Very well, see what you can find and then report back to me."

"You got it." He turned and began to leave the room, "Come on Brian, It looks like we are heading to Angers. Much of his staff and other friends still work at the Chateau over there so it is a good place to begin our investigation."

"You got it Jesse."

"My suggestion, Herr Tenzov, would be something cautious. I would like to remind all of you that we are playing ball with some of the strongest nations on the planet. Their iron grip over the Earth will not be pried away easily. Success will be limited, but that has to do with how dedicated you gentlemen are to the completion of our plan. The key here is to turn nations against each other, whether it be ally or enemy. Most of the world is fairly content with the status of the world today, we are here to remind them that they are cowards. As to your tackling of the Federation, removing Marscurian Siberia from the vassalage of the Chinese would be a rather strong statement. With hopeful problems in Alaska with New Portugal, it might at the very least, shake up the Federation to the happenings around the world. My biggest suggestion is be vocal about your movements, there are opportunists everywhere, it is important that they get wind of our cause."

By this time the plane had traveled the distance across the Eurasian Continent and was narrowing in on its destination, a small remote island within the nation of Avalon. Since the proverbial collapse of Greater Pacifica, the far islands of French Polynesia and others away from Oceania and Asia provided the perfect area for piracy and individual opportunism. As far as Bridgette was concerned, she occupied a very small corner of the Pacific, quiet, causing little to no noise in which regional authorities might be tipped off. The jet was cleared to land and a tropical paradise, of blue water and quaint straw huts awaited Bridgette's guests as they were filtered off the plane.

"At this point gentlemen," Bridgette said standing on the gangway. "You are free to relax as long as you would like. When you are prepared to leave to your locations, let my pilots know and they will personally fly you to whatever destination is available. If you need to speak with me personally, I will be in the mansion at the top of the hill. Otherwise, enjoy your stay and be kind to the natives of the island. They are after all, my employees."

Meanwhile, Paul, Ben, and the Lizard were all taken off the plane, still in their cages and transported down into the basement complex of the island mansion. There, the bright paradise faded into a world of chrome and nightmarish machinery, with great vats of blue ooze and other devious machinations hanging along the walls and across the floors. Placed in separate holding tanks, constantly surrounded by Bridgette's guards, there would be no escape here. They could only wait for their individual fates when the mad scientist arrived.

While it may have been winter in Sweden, they had just flown clear across the equator, and once Theo had stepped out of the climate-conditioned aircraft, he felt his body seem to overheat almost automatically, he had been clothed himself earlier that day for sub-zero temperatures. By the time he had made his way to a small straw hut, he had discarded his heavy winter-issue military tunic, and rolled up the sleeves of his white formal undershirt. He had carried his greatcoat with him to the hut, and he hung it up and dressed it carefully. He may have just gone absent without leave from his duties as an officer in Her Majesty's Livegardet, but formal routines died very hard. About halfway to the hut, he had opted to carry the heavy ceremonial winterized boots under his shoulder, going barefoot as he walked.

After claiming one of the huts and stowing what meager gear he had brought with him away, he would step out onto the beach next to the hut, observing the brightness and the alluring hues of the almost crystal clear waters of the South Pacific. Places like these you only saw in travel magazines in Sweden, he had never been to the Pacific, only getting as far south as the Mediterranean in Southern France. The humidity that made the air dense and heavy, and his body suffered profusely in the heat, having been just getting used to the cold temperatures of Sweden's winter. Renegade officer or not, he still wore the ceremonial sword on its belt around his waist, as he rolled up the cuffs of his pants, and let his toes dip in the warm water that felt so unfamiliar to him. No water was this warm in Sweden, even on the coasts in the summer.

Within a few hours of the plane landing, his earlier curiosity had returned in full force after taking another quick nap, and letting his mind wander to the circumstances regarding Bridgette's clearly directed silence towards him. He bartered with a native for an extra pair of locally made sandals, which he found to be surprisingly comfortable, having to dole out a few Swedish Kronor for the barter was well worth it. After procuring the sandals, his appearance seemingly made him look like something out of Robinson Crusoe; a much more disheveled appearance without his full uniform, the legs of his pants rolled up just shy of his knees, and yet his ceremonial sword still clinking in its scabbard at his side, he would slowly make his way to the mansion that Bridgette had pointed out. His curiosity had overwhelmed the feelings of reservation he had, and he was acting upon it, as he knocked on the mansions' front entrance, and requested to see the ex-Chancellor in person. As he waited for a response, there was but a small sense of foreboding in the back of his mind; hopefully curiosity did not kill the cat...

"Mikhail will never abandon Jia," Tenzov said, "time only brings them closer. However, we can certainly sever physical links. The UFE lacks any true land connection to Marscurian Siberia, being completely separated by the Amur River. Only three bridges span the river, and UFE troops have been using them to make incursions through Marscurian Siberia and into Vaule. We sever these links, and we cut off the UFE's ability to project power. After this, we can talk about going deeper."
