Markus Wilding
HELSINKI Finnish developments on the Manhattan Project have turned out to be false. Finnish defense officials stated today that it "is a serious setback in developing these weapons" and that Finnish scientists have been working feverishly on trying to find the correct launch payload, among other things. Minister of the Army General Teemu Äijälä said to FINN in a phone conversation that the error in research boiled down to a wrong calculation. This multiplication error, General Äijälä said, would have, instead of launching the weapon, detonated it on the launching platform. Finland yesterday rolled out it's new Social Security program, which provides benefits for the elderly, disabled, and war veterans. Citizens and military soldiers have begun logging themselves into the system by registering their name and basic personal information, followed by being given a card with their private social security number. Chairwoman Sari Paatelainen said in a press conference today that "this program will ensure all citizens of the Peoples' Republic of Finland will never be without help". The Finnish Revolutionary Navy will finally be receiving two corvettes and a battleship, to protect Finnish shipping lanes and to defend Finnish waters from hostile foreign powers. Markus Wilding
Following the election of Kaiju Sillanpää to position of Party Boss, Finland will be taking a new course in world politics. "I am committed to reconciling past disputes and grievances with not only Sweden, but Europe as a whole." Kaiju said today. With the Militarist and Intellectual parties gaining majority, however, Party Boss Sillanpää will no doubt have serious opposition in expanding Socialist influences in Finnish society, but will gain serious support for expanding the military from the Suomen militaristinen puolue.
