[private message to the Federation of Arctic Nations.]

To: Federation of Arctic Nations (PRESIDENT VARIN)
From: Harley Koroko (foreign adviser), The President Dominic Johnson and the senate of The Republic of Newfoundland
Subj: Requesting diplomatic communication.
Date: 10/20/2011

As you have helped the socialist party during our first and latest general elections, it seems most natural that you and your people are the ones that we want to visit this day. As such, we would also like to send a diplomat to your capital, as well as our president, to see the workings of your nation, and to look around and such, and of course, to talk.
As the President finished typing the message, he looked at his friend, his foreign adviser, Harley Kokoro.

Harley: "Mr President, who knows what good this can accomplish. Or, maybe evils. We won't know unless we find out"

President Dominic: "I know Harley, just that I hope that we can get the best out of it, now I just to find the flight schedules, for when they're needed."

As you said your President and military cabinet are Athens at the moment, the most we can do is wait until they return to Spitsbergen. When they return, please message us, as we would love to make a visit. (Also, is there a designated airport for when the time comes?)

Well, if you would like to do so when the time comes, sure. Feel free to visit us, we'll send a taxi to the ST. John Airport the moment you say you may be less than a hour away from us. From there, I (President Dominic) will be with you in the taxi to go to our capitol building. Should your government want to visit here anyway, we will hope you will have a good time here
"Im sure we will, we have many things to discuss, and your nation seems very charming. We are very glad to call Newfoundland our friends." Varin smiles. "We hope to establish better ties with you on this day in many ways. Your nation is well respected in our nation. We also thank you for noticing our economic attempts to prosper. The only thing we're majorly worried about is the massive amount of debt we are accumulating."

"My friend, how can we not notice your economic position. As for massive debts, please, come inside. I'll show you to my office down here. Several of my ministers will also join us in there. We shall figure out how to work with this, in the hopes that we both will prosper. I hope we can establish better ties as-well."

Dominic responds smiling "Seems your people like this place. So when did you decide to immigrate to Svalbard? If I were to move out, I'd be in Chicago. Tho, then I wouldn't get the chance to meat you. Funny, how fate will do this from time to time."

"My mother did in her early years with her family. I have no idea why though. So, would you be interested in combining currencies? The Finance department has coined a new idea out. We've printed approximately $100,000,000.00 of the 'Arctic Dollar' and we think it would be a great joint currency. Maybe even our allies in the Democratic Republic of Ontario would be interested in using the currency. With 3 nations using the same currency, it would ensure stability of the currency shall one nation fall."

"Well, combining our currencies could be useful from time to time, like when a purchase is needed, and one currency happens to be worth more. Sure, I guess my Financial minister would be alright with that. As for the Democratic Republic of Ontario, I believe we should ask them if they'd like this idea."

"To be honest, I do like the Arc. It's a unique currency, to a unique nation. We could use your dollar when we need, and you can use ours when you need it. Doing such I think can help us both out, like making easier low-interest loans, I'd also imagine that trade would be easier. Now, if I may ask you, Would you like a stake in our Hibernia oil reserves project? We are at the point were our factories are nearly working 24.7 to make what we need, and if you could set up some factories (I wouldn't mind helping setting up some.) that would help us finish our project quicker. I mostly ask this because I see the strong winds coming again, and I fear that we may have to move our deadline back a few years just to get our of the storms' and harm's way. It would mostly also help us put the needed components safely on our platforms, so that they may be protected. If you want, we can even let you take control of a couple plat-forms, and allow some of your people to work on ours."

"That sounds good! It sounds like a very profitable industry." President Varin smiles. "We will need some kind of treaty between us to insure joint protection and friendship though."

Dominic responds smiling. "Glad you would enjoy this then. As for a treaty for joint protection and such, I believe a trade and economic treaty of the such is in the order. I'll call Harley Kokoro, she'll fix something up I hope." He takes out his cell, and calls her, telling her to come as early as she can. A few minuets later, she enters through the doors.

Harley Kokoro: "So, this is the Arctic Federation officials. Shall be a honer to meat you, and is a honer to be with you. I managed to draft a short treaty, that would also allow for what Dominic and you asked. As-well as, of course, the general things you find in some other treaties and such. I sorta felt that what I put in was necessary. Tell me, what do you think of this?"

Dominic: "Wonderful, I'm glade that we will be friends for years to come" At this the sky starts to grow darker again, with the wind starting to pick up. "Looks like a storm is coming. If you want, I can pay for your flight back to your country. Only the universe knows how long till the planes will be grounded. He gives Espen Vinter a check for a thousand dollars. "Might not be much, but it'll pay for your flights back home, and maybe a dinner somewhere. As for me, I have to see my family soon, they'll get angry at me again if I stay here for too long."
