Those of you familiar with my occasional postings here might be wondering why I'm not flying the flag for the good ole' LSF. As someone who has always saw the idea of Leftist Unity as something of an abstract before recent events, I've come to realize that the real meaning behind this concept is the strength of our collective community, regardless of the AA we label ourselves with, and the folks we more closely associate with, by relation to said AA. As I've stated before in response to the 'lolcommiesneed2merge' stuff, sometimes we need a little space in order to get along better, much like good friends who try to live under the same roof sometimes discover that it's necessary to put a little distance between them, in order to strengthen their friendship. This should not be seen as a sign of fracturing relations - rather, it is a necessary step that has been taken, in order to avoid such a fracturing.

Without further ado, I would like to announce that the Socialist Workers Front has recently held elections for its elected officers, as well as a new Constitution, which has been ratified by the General Congress:

CONSTITUTION OF THE SOCIALIST WORKERS FRONT

Chapter I. Founding Statement
Art. 1. The Front is united in its belief in equality, freedom from all forms of exploitation and oppression, the necessity of democracy, tolerance and the protection of human rights.

Chapter II. The General Congress
Art. 2. All members of the Socialist Workers Front serve equally on the General Congress. All members receive one vote.

Art. 3.The General Congress is the supreme authority within the Socialist Workers Front. Any power not otherwise specified within this constitution is reserved to the General Congress.

Art. 4. Amendments to this constitution require a 75%+1 vote. Expulsion of members, silencing members (see Chapter III, Art. 5, sec. ii), recalling members of government (see Chapter IV, Art. 17), and matters related to the War Committee (see Chapter IV, Art. 18) require a 67%+1 vote. All other decisions require a 50%+1 vote.
sec. i. All votes must run for a minimum of 48 hours.
sec. ii. All members have the right to a secret ballot.

Chapter III. The Rights of Members
Art. 5. All members have the right to free speech within and without the Socialist Workers Front.
sec. i. The right to free speech within the Socialist Workers Front can never be restricted.
sec. ii. If the General Congress finds it necessary to restrict a member's right to free speech outside of the Socialist Workers Front, it must be for a set time period no greater than 90 days. This vote must pass with a 67%+1 majority.

Art. 6. All members have a right to view all areas of the Socialist Workers Front. No part of the forums may be kept secret from any member.

Art. 7. All members have a right to discuss any topic at any time. Therefore:
sec. i. No topic shall ever be deleted.
sec. ii. Only topics posted by government officials that are statistical, educational, or otherwise strictly informative in content may be locked immediately following publication.

Chapter IV. The Central Committee
Art. 8. The Central Committee is the government of the Socialist Workers Front and consists of the following members: two Co-Chairpersons, the Commissar of the Interior, the Commissar of Industry, the Commissar of Foreign Affairs, and the Marshal of the Socialist Workers Front.

Art. 9. As all members of the Central Committee are equal to each other, no member may interfere in the affairs of another member. The Central Committee is encouraged to work together as one body for the good of the Socialist Workers Front, but should unresolvable differences arise between its members only the General Congress has the authority to intervene and give orders to effect a resolution.

Art. 10. Members of the Central Committee are elected by the General Congress every two months. Any member of the General Congress is eligible to hold a position on the Central Committee. A position on the Central Committee may only be filled by one member at a time, and a single member may hold only one position in government at a time.

Art. 11. One week prior to the start of elections members may put themselves forward for election.

Art. 12. In order to win election to a position on the Central Committee, a member must receive 50%+1 of the votes cast by the General Congress. In the event that no one receives a 50%+1 vote, a run-off is held between the two candidates who received the most votes. Elections, like all other votes, must run for a minimum period of 48 hours.

Art. 13. In the event of the resignation or removal of a member of the Central Committee, they are to be replaced in the following manner:
sec. i. If the member has served less than half of their term, the General Congress will elect a replacement as outlined in Article 12.
sec. ii. If the member has served half of their term or more, the Central Committee will elect a willing replacement by majority vote.

Art. 14. If for any reason a position in the Central Committee is vacant, the Co-Chairpersons are responsible for fulfilling the duties of that position.

Art. 15. Members of the Central Committee may appoint and dismiss any subordinates as they deem appropriate. These subordinates are considered members of the government of the Socialist Workers Front, and may receive moderator powers as deemed appropriate by the Central Committee, but they are not considered members of the Central Committee.

Art. 16. Any decisions or actions undertaken by the government are subject to veto by the General Congress through a 50%+1 majority vote.

Art. 17. All members of government are subject to recall by the General Congress at any time. A vote of 67%+1 is required to recall a member of government. A member who has been recalled may not stand for a position on the Central Committee in the next election.

Art. 18. All members of the Central Committee are members of the War Committee when it is formed.
sec. i. The War Committee may be convened at any time by a 67%+1 vote of the General Congress.
sec. ii. The War Committee is automatically convened any time the Socialist Workers Front is at war and any time a request to activate a previously signed "mandatory" war treaty is made to the Socialist Workers Front.
sec. iii. If the Socialist Workers Front is not at war, the General Congress must vote to maintain the War Committee every month, with a 67%+1 vote. Otherwise the War Committee is automatically dissolved after one week.
sec. iv. When convened, the War Committee assumes command of the Socialist Workers Front and governs by consensus. When consensus cannot be reached, a majority vote of the War Committee is required to override dissenting members.
sec. v. The General Congress may override any decision or action of the War Committee with a 67%+1 vote.

Chapter V. The Positions of the Central Committee
Art. 19. Co-Chairpersons
sec. i. The two Co-Chairpersons are responsible for making sure the government is run efficiently and according to the will of the General Congress.
sec. ii. While the Co-Chairpersons are responsible for making sure the other members of the government are performing their duties, they have no special authority over them, and are equal with the other members of the Central Committee.
sec. iii. With the Commissar of the Interior, the Co-Chairpersons are responsible for masking new members and diplomats, creating embassies, and generally keeping the forums tidy.
sec. iv. As per Chapter IV, Art. 7, the Co-Chairpersons are responsible for fulfilling the duties of any vacant position on the Central Committee

Art. 20. Commissar of the Interior.
sec. i. The Commissar of the Interior is responsible for running the recruitment efforts of the Socialist Workers Front.
sec. ii. All statistics keeping and tracking is the responsibility of the Commissar of the Interior.

Another communist alliance? Why don't you all merge into INT and get done with it, getting tired of every communist having his own alliance.
I second this notion. :smug:

Oh dear lord no. The SWF is where people go when they are so disagreeable that even the LSF can't tolerate them!

But seriously, congratulations to the SWF in general and to former comrades Swedes, Defender, and Fad specifically.

Unless I'm reading the OP wrong, this isn't a DoE but rather a simple announcement of new elections. The "Pluralism" part is just rhetoric. Speaking of which, the CNLeft wouldn't be it's usual entertaining self without the innumerable factions it boasts on a regular basis so maybe you guys should keep that up.

It is, in fact, a DoE, masked in a personal observation. I wouldn't call it rhetoric when the CNLeft has one of the most fluid and unified memberships on Bob.

Socialism is fail, so why make an alliance based on it?

oh well, good luck anyways. :awesome:

There's this phrase that I love to use, but for the life of me I simply cannot remember it.

Gah, it's on the tip of my tongue! This is going to bother me all day. Maybe it involved some form of oral manipulation? No, that's not it. I vaguely recall something about a demand to for some attention to the left part of my body?

UGH! I know it will come to me eventually.

There are far too many reasons why we won't merge with INT. Nothing negative mind you, but every alliance in the left has its own kind of "culture" INT is too serious sometimes, LSF is run by anarchists lol jk, SWF is back and proud, and us at the UCR just plain like our alliance. I don't know how people view us but from what we've seen we are well respected.
