Davy Jones Aphasia is an unusual, yet scientifically accepted, language disorder that compels people to talk like (and sometimes act) as pirates. Brain altering chemical bombs, Dragon cult’s dreamers, Pastafarians’ holy day, cosmic radiation, mind altering fungus, and climate change have all been speculated causes of Davy Jones Aphasia - Generalissimo would have blamed Kaiser Martens - but there has yet to be a consensus in the world’s medical communities. September 19, 2010 (Generalissimo Scale real time) was the last great Davy Jones Aphasia outbreak with most nations succumbing. . . . . . eventually causing an absolute breakdown in international communications. Doctor Hugo, Procinctia’s predominant investigator of unusual phenomenon, decided another international conference was in order. If there something was really going to happen on September Nineteenth might be better if the scientific community was a little more proactive this time. Doctor Hugo, like many Procinctians, liked genre savvy theatrics intentionally hosted the event six day before the possibly impending crisis. Six days was enough time to be dramatic, but not enough to decisively do anything about it. Last year, pardon Procinctian year, our world was overtaken by am unexplained condition. Millions were unable to converse beyond primitive pirate speech followed by a massive breakdown in international communications. That global has been identified as an affliction now known as Davy Jones' Aphasia. September Nineteenth is International Talk Like a Pirate Day, a day synonymous with this condition, is upon us. Every significant outbreak of Davy Jones' Aphasia has taken place approximate to this time. Some have said another outbreak was inevitable soon. . . The data wasn’t nearly conclusive enough. They have been practicing speaking in a snobby upper-class English accent that will hopefully cancel out the effects of Davy Jones' Aphasia. For them, anyway. It might actually be possible to fight off of any compulsion to talk like a pirate with sufficient mental preparation. Why a snobby upper-class English accent? Would other alternative speech patterns be sufficient? Is encouraging populations to rehearse alternative exaggerated fake accents viable? What happens to those who communicate as pirates beforehand when afflicted with Davy Jones' Aphasia? Would they talk normally instead?” Momentarily agape with uncertainly the wild-haired scientist considered this question but instead of an answer produced yet another question, “Where are we going to find people who already talk like pirates? The United Federation of the East seems to be trying to take over the island, or something. This minor oversight sets back our schedule, slightly. Today were going to brainstorm and come up with a dramatic last-minute plan to save the world from tomorrow’s possibly imminent Davy Jones' Aphasia outbreak. Right now we only have forty-ish minutes until September Nineteenth. That’s forty-ish minutes to devise an implement whatever come up with, starting. . . now.
