With lack of a true policy to enact in regards to Ireland most inquiries sent to the Hellenic state would not receive a reply. However the Atlantic Fleet originally in position to block England spread out to cover all of the Brittish Isles. While the ships made sure they would not violate any territorial waters a sphere was established around the Isles. Carriers fueled their fighters, UCAVs patrolled the line and every ship even in the neighborhood of the Isles would be tracked.
We would remind the Athenian Federation that the Empire already has the 3rd Fleet, totaling nine ships, stationed at IMB: Ireland at Gare Loch in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. They have no plans on leaving. Any attempt to force them out would be looked upon as an act of war.

Official Imperial Statement

The Empire sees this scramble for Ireland particularly distasteful. While the USI seemed to have the most legitimate claim, they have shown themselves to be unwilling to listen to the will of the people. Why the Nordic Empire is there escapes even the most distant logic. The people of Ireland have risen up with their own voices and said they want to govern themselves, and the only nation listening is England? A mixed up, semi-fascist state is the only government in the world listening to the will of the people? What is our planet coming to?

The Empire does not recognize the claim of the Nordic Empire over Northern Ireland, nor the USI over southern Ireland. We support the Irish people in their right to self-governance. We hope the rest of the world comes to their collective senses and does the same.

Northern Ireland

With the end of successful negotiations, the Imperial Military began to secure Northern Ireland. The nine hundred troops in Galway, Ireland began to move towards the North, along with their assortment of equipment. They would leave behind runway construction materials such as cement as a good will gesture towards the United States of The Islands. Before the other transports could drop troops in Galway, they were diverted to Belfast International near Antrim, George Best Belfast City in East Belfast, and City of Derry in County Londonderry. At those assorted airports, the transports would land and unload their assortment of troops, tanks, and various other support weapons. With access to three airports and with a constant flow of transports, some thirty thousand troops and one thousand armored vehicles (tanks and infantry fighting vehicles) were to be landed in Northern Ireland within the next three days.

Along with the ground forces being assembled in the North, two squadrons of the Lu-65 Air Superiority Fighters and three squadrons of the Lu-67 Multi-Role Fighter were to be stationed in the North. An extensive air defense network, consisting of OTH-B and other assorted systems, would also be set up to protect the skies as well. Mobile Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile Systems would also be dispatched to Northern Ireland to protect the coastal areas.

We are glad to see that we are not the only ones that can see the madness in this situation. Hopefully other will realize the foolishness of both claims from the USI and Dalmatia.

"We would like to remind the Empire of Pravus Ingruo that we did not state we would expel all foreign forces, as is clear from us leaving the Cochin forces in the field unharmed. Your forces are free to leave whenever they feel the need and will not be removed. However for now we will not let other forces in."

---

Orders were issued for a division of soldiers to transport to Ireland, transport and intent was cleared with Dalmatian and USI authorities before beginning. Around 50,000 forces in France were taken to the maximum military readiness in addition to the 75,000 soldiers already in England from the previous war. For now the 50,000 would remain in France awaiting the order to deploy if the conflict heated up. At large the Athenian Federation was taken to Alert Condition Delta which indicated a serious threat to the Athenian Federation or her allies. With the potential of nuclear exchanges preparations were made to take citizens and government to the fallout shelter system.

Cork

"And we are now live in Cork where the mayor has been speaking to military officials for nearly two hours. We- oh wait the doors are opening.. Hang on let's try to get closer." all of the reporters crowded around the USI general and the mayor of Cork, "After carefully talking to the general here, and after careful consideration with the city council, we have been declared to be the southern headquarters for voting in Ireland." Many members of the press clapped as the general continued for the mayor, "This means that when elections are held, Dublin and Cork will receive all of the ballets and count them. This also means that Cork will know before anyone who the elected officials of Ireland before anyone else! With Cork being the second biggest city in the United States, I can't even imagine all the wonderful things that will happen in this city and what more it will grow and how much stronger it will become." The press and the crowd cheered as they all clapped.

The people of Dublin gathered and watched as their mayor met with Commander Edison of the US forces in Ireland. He looked exhausted. The crowd clapped and cheered for several minutes until everyone quieted down. "It is with great pleasure that I present Commander Edison of Dublin with the key of the city, for defending us in our hour of need. This time will not be forgotten." Commander Edison took the chain of keys, which was symbolic of course, and saluted the crowd of onlookers.
Similar things were going on all across the country and as the night turned, fireworks flew over the city of Dublin, bursting in the air with the beautiful colors of green white and orange. As the night fell, the Army Corps of Engineers made their way across the west, repairing runways so that commuter flights could begin again. The stock market roared up a massive 2,500 points. New Dublin and Douglas were alive with lights and fireworks at night. Congress declared the day, Ireland Day. Martial law in New Dublin was ended mostly because there no longer was a threat and the people of New Dublin all in the streets.

Susan sat as she watched the sun set. David came up to her and handed her a cup of Joe. The small luxurious home on the tiny island which could barely hold it turned darker as the sun set. It had been a while since David had visited his home here, it definitely wouldn't be the last. Susan dropped the cup he handed her when she saw David on one nee, "Susan O'Neil of Dublin Ireland, will you marry me?" jehad finally asked the bloody question. It was about time. Susan stuttered as the rim of the sun touched the bouncing waves of the ocean, "Y-y-yy.. Yes." David embraced her in a hug and they both kissed for what seemed the longest time. David didn't mind that molten coffee had burned his feet. The proud blond and attractive red head kissed am mingled until making it to their bedroom, they didn't get much sleep.

Feeding The Armies
Feeding The People

Nearly one hundred tons of food would be delivered to Dublin as some soldiers rushed to get their Army Food Packs that only needed water to be activated. However most of the USI soldiers were fed, this food, and much more aid would be sent though-out Ireland's major cities to be spread to smaller communities that may be in need of food in case local food chains would have been shut down bought out by scared civilians. As the soldiers of their neighbors made it to the North, several helicopters approached the border and dropped a few tons worth of food for Northern Ireland's citizens and the army that was now their to protect it. Several more shipments of food would be made to Dublin in case it was needed although roads were quickly being opened again the rail systems were having their schedules redone so that they could begin operating as well.
The Irish flag proudly flew over many buildings and all of the cities, the military and politicians decided to leave it. Maybe the country would adopt the flag?

Restoring Utilities

Out with the old

Some neglect over the years have left many water lines broken, especially in Dublin and Cork. Power lines also needed an updating however the largest ones would have to come first. With a few billion dollars the large wooden power lines could be replaced with stronger metal ones that would last much longer.

For the main water system, the Army Corps along with 100 Dublin plumbers have begun work to hopefully improve the efficiency of Dublin's water system and sewage by 200%. The army corps and power companies would handle to power lines as large cranes were barged in from New Dublin. Cranes that had been building sky scrapers in New Dublin were now helping the power grid for "old" Dublin. Few power stations were effected by the event however wind turbines were being imported from the Island to be placed in a few places in Ireland to help provide rural areas with power. Officials alerted our friends in the North of some of the utilities that were being repaired and recommended that they did the same at least with the large wooden power lines so that the electrical infrastructure of the country could last much much longer.

In with the new

Members of the Independent party also petitioned to repair many rural roads for farmers and those who were less fortunate so that they could have safer, better roads to drive on. Nearly 200 miles of road would begin being worked on as even members of the small villages came out to help in any way they could, something that astonished some of the city-dwellers who were assigned to work in the middle of no where for someone.

Cajun Federation Official Statement

"The Cajun Federation applauds the Continental Empire of Dalmatia and the United States of the Islands solving this crisis peacefully with no bloodshed, while there remains the issue of England's claims to Ireland, one conflict has been averted. That being said, the Cajun Federation is dispatching a twelve-ship aid convoy from Havana to provide foodstuffs, medical aid, construction materials, heavy construction equipment, and fuel supplies. We feel that with the possibility of another conflict flaring with other claims to the Irish nation, we feel that the population being able to stockpile this vital aid is paramount to their ability to withstand further trauma.

These ships will adhere to any measures of search and manifest checks prior to making port in Cork, Ireland, but we assure all involved parties that this convoy contains only aid for civilian use only. The Cajun Federation is also dispatching the hospital ship CFNS Mercy with the Joint Support Ship Mississippi, which will maintain a position outside of territorial waters, and will be available for any care for trauma and injured patients, should any hospitals lose utilities services during this time of transition. Additionally, the Federation would also like to dispatch a small contingent of unarmed heavy construction engineers from the 225th Engineer Brigade of the Louisiana National Guard, but will hold off from sending them until they are specifically allowed to be sent. We stand by the Irish people in their time of need, and hope to see no bloodshed come of any further claims to Ireland."

It is the position of the Holy American Empire not to have a position on the Irish crisis. The New and Old Worlds should not intervene in ways other than humanitarian when a governing body does not exist outside of their hemisphere. As such we applaud the efforts of the Cajun Federation in supplying aid to those in need. Ports in the Caribbean are open for the convenience of any ships requiring berths.

The United States of The Islands
Ireland
Cork
White Bay

The United States now compromised of Ireland, the Western Isles, an Antarctic region, and the Island itself - between Great Britain and Ireland. The Island was the most unique out of the bunch although the rest were equally amazing in their own ways. The Island had a distinct culture that was like a dominant gene, it would be hard to eradicate and anyone who entered it, would probably become a part of it. The coming of the Western Isles changed that and now the joining of Ireland into the Union would also affect that. Yes the Island would keep it's culture, but now the government had more voice from Ireland - with the biggest cities being there they would have more say in the United States government.

People of the Island had strange customs, so the government had those strange customs to. A simple nod was a sign of respect. The first kiss was considered something almost sacred. And whenever a foreign power came for special reasons, the United States would honor them with an odd, mysterious, yet outstanding introduction into their country.

As the ships from the Cajun Federation came into White Bay they would see the white-blue lining of thousands Marines armed with standing still as trees. They stretched across the ruff shore and short cliffs along the bay, each standing perfectly still as the ships passed into port. There must have been thousands of men there. Not a voice could be heard, it was almost more scary then it was impressive. As the ships passed they took out their swords and raised them seventy-five degrees over the ships. The thousands of men represented that they stood guard on the cliffs and beaches of Ireland and would protect their guests with their very lives. While many of these men had been put in their uniforms and used to give this introduction, many many many more times the number were at work in Cork, Dublin, and across the entire country. After the presentation would be over, they would get back into duty uniform and begin working again.

The men were on the right and the left, both sides of the bay. They met together at the peer and stood just as still as they did on the cliffs. When the ships docked at port one of the men turned and clapped one of his heels on the other. One by one, all of the other men turned and did the same, following him back into Cork. The pure dedication and energy it would take to show no emotion and walk one after the other back to their barracks in Cork. Some went through dirt, sandy beaches, and the white foam of former waves that rested on top of them. A team of strong, muscular marines came out in perfect sets of lines and all stood, waiting to be given the orders to help unload. Standing to the right of them was President O'Reilly in informal clothing. He had on a white button up shirt and a brown leather aviator jacket. He had a belt and brown pair of working shoes that matched his jacket. If the Lady Protector could help load cargo that would help his country then he could at least help unload it. The air was cool. Fall wasn't to far away. He would probably keep the jacket on the entire day.
Two armed Marines stood to the right and left of David as he anxiously waited to see the first Cajun come out of one of the ships. He/she would be the first North American he ever physically met in person.

"Kurland does not recognize this Partition of Ireland, considering that there is a provisional Irish government vying for independence and both the USI and CED have neglected to respond to any diplomatic cables from this government. If the Irish wish for self-governance, then they should be allowed it. We officially support Irish independence from any foreign occupation."

The naval blockade around the Isles would relax their policies, where initially civilian traffic would be inspected and all non-European vessels would be left out the policy was relaxed to allow all civilian traffic access without inspection. Military vessels of the Kingdom of Cochin would now also be allowed to pass through without issues. A message was sent to the Kingdom informing them of this change.

The Bill Has Passed

The bill has passed. The Irish-tri-color is now the official flag of the United States. The short lived flag from before will still be considered historical.
At midnight, the previous flag was lowered from the Orange House and the Capital and the Irish-tri-color was raised above all government buildings to show Ireland's joining of the Union and the new majority they would hold in government. Hundreds of young people eagerly waited outside the Orange House to watch Vice President McNeil raise the Irish flag himself. The vote in congress wasn't to bad, but was uncomfortably close with 75% for and 25% either against or null voting. The members of congress that were to have elections held for them soon would make their way to Douglas where the capital building is having a makeover to accommodate the new seats that the new representatives will hold.

With the National Guard, Marines, and Army Corps building up the infrastructure and utilities of Ireland - hopefully Ireland won't suffer some of the "Cold Problems" that the Island gets in the winter - that being food shortages and dipping temperatures in rural areas with no heating.

A picture of President O'Reilly in Dublin earlier yesterday, giving a speech to a small crowd

President O'Reilly himself is in Ireland, unloading humanitarian aid in Cork from the Cajun Federation. Rumors have risen that relations between the United States and the Cajun Federation have risen to new heights. As of now, the two nations in the New World with the most approval of the Islands people is Pravus Ingruo for saving us from Nuclear Inhalation and The Holy American Empire. The Cajun Federation may pass them very soon with this aid for the citizens of the USI.

## Private to USI and Dalmatia ##

The Country formerly known as the United Kingdom and whose government has yet to be clearly established is continuing to rattle sabres despite its own political turmoil and to undermine your rightful claims to Ireland. I am thinking of acting to do something about it. Would you both be willing to support an effort to liberate the people of England from a government that nearly appointed a fascist regime? It'd be a surefire way of burring the hatchets you were waving at each other earlier in productive fashion.

If I do this, I will want the support of the European community, if it is an effort that is not supported I do not want to waste lives upon it.

With Ireland now having the full reach of the USI military all over it, for the exception of Northern Ireland which belonged to our Dalmatian friends, food and supplies could be spread through the country much easier. And since the few days the rails were closed, they were now back open. Bringing soldiers, citizens, food, and water across the entire nation.

Then please get on with the elections, leave the Irish matter alone. Two stable powers now have it. There is no need to rock the boat and the USI in particular has a more than valid claim to rule. I can't say the same for Dalmatia, but as long as they do not abuse the people and represent them fairly in their government I don't see the source of your complaint about the current arrangement.

Also, we should really talk about setting up some form of relations outside of simply writing letters. We're neighbors, our people are highly intertwined. An embassy sector is being built up in Angers. As soon as your next round of elections are complete, we'll recognize your new government as legitimate and have a building waiting for your diplomats. Until then, we don't really have a grasp about your policy outside of your actions, and of late we have not seen them as being constructive.

The President will need to consult with Congress and and the Kingdom of Cochin. Our Dalmatian friends may need to do the same however we do not want any more war in the British Isles. We are still securing Ireland and trying to build-up it's infrastructure. We understand the English are angry at our claims however they have only out-spoken themselves. If they start to aid any terrorists in Ireland then I can almost assure you that The Kingdom of Cochin, The Athenian Federation, Dalmatia, and The United States of The Islands will not stand for it.

I appreciate your prompt response. I think I am coming into agreement with you. I want to see what comes of England after its next round of elections before I take any further action, but until then I think we will remain in a heightened state of alert. I was wondering, Mr. McNeil, if you or President David might have the time to Visit Angers? I would like to discuss at length with you the potential for future relations. You have seen that I have a vested interest in the safety and welfare of your people whom I see as relatives of my own and in many cases, their families might very well be intertwined given our proximity. That said, I think it appropriate we act upon the sentiment and discuss how to do so.
