"I apologize for the actions of my kin in the past, I can only wonder why my beautiful country is trying to be kept from what seem to be wonderful people like yourself Madame. I thank you for your time and I can only wish you the best of luck in your endeavors. If you ever need assistance in anything, the USI will be at your doorstep ready to act."

When Susan was leaving the building she typed a blue plus into her phone and sent it to David, signalling that the Director approved the humanitarian aid and that the C-130s could drop their loads of food. With that, Europe was another step closer to being stable.

A tasking order arrives at the desk of the 333rd Air Group Commander's desk warning him of an impending series of foreign flights from C-130 Transports flying USI Colors. Discrete observation will be kept on the planes for the duration of their relief efforts, and nothing more.

Legion 1st through 5th Divisions begin the process of returning to Port Sudan. The 6th Division will remain behind along with a Cadre force to begin building the Austrian Legion Division. Members of the Legion Special Operations Group Austria along with other volunteers are immediately given orders to report to a small training facility outside of Port Sudan known to Legion Officer Candidates as the Crucible.

Traditionally the wash out rate is around 62 percent given the hardships faced by the Officer Candidates of the Legion. The newly arriving group of Austrians are given two weeks to prepare for the course and to get use to the harsh Sudanese climate. Failure to pass the Crucible is an automatic return to previous duty with no repercussions to those who do not pass.

Officer training is supposed to be brutal, at least for the Legion it is.

The mass pullout of Legion manpower shows the arrival of Lt. General Mbembe and several Legion Engineering Support Regiments. These regiment sized formations are capable of clearing rubble, repairing damaged buildings, laying new roads, and most importantly defusing Unexploded Ordinance.

Dellion is given the task of merging the Legion and Austrian Military Command structures by accepting the Austrian Minister of Defense position. He's a bit apprehensive about the entire thing, but feels he has plenty to offer. His first order of business is to secure the Austrian Port of Koper for Legion use and fortification. Never again will Legion be forced to come to the continent under hostile fire, well hopefully not, but one never knows.

From: Dellion
Regarding: Minister of Defense Duties

The Legion Council has requested that I take you up on your offer to become the Austrian Minister of Defense. They've further requested that you join the Council and should you accept this appointment they'll contact you directly.

A brief update on Legion Activities to date:

1) The 1st through 5th Divisions are being returned to Port Sudan and other Legion Duty Stations.
- This is about 30 percent complete. The majority of our heavy equipment is being left for Austrian use with a Divisions worth of heavy armor and other vehicles being placed in storage for Legion use should it be required.

2) Lt. General Mbembe of the Legion Corp of Engineers is bringing in three Legion Engineering Regiments to assist with the rebuilding effort.

3) It is my suggestion that an international accounting firm be hired to oversee the distribution of funds to rebuild Austria. It is my belief that while most people can be trusted to be responsible, there is that certain element of society that bears oversight.

Further, it is my suggestion that joint Legion, Austrian, and UFE oversight group be put together to coordinate our efforts. Any additional forces from other nations will be put under the control of this group and given areas of responsibility.

Auditors from this group, more so the international accounting firm or what not, will then go in and make sure the money being provided is well spent.

4) The Austrian Legion Division is being formed up as we speak. Several hundred Officer Candidate are being flown to Port Sudan for their indoctrination training.

5) The Austrian 1st Army Group is still in no condition to fight a battle of maneuver. I'm going to sign the orders to begin rebuilding it from ground up.

This includes:

1) Specialist training for technical roles. I believe the easiest way to conduct this will be to create a school designed to weed out the incompetents and then send the survivors onto a specialist training course in the UFE.

2) NCO Training, the Legion will handle this in a special NCO training course designed to move the Austrian Military away from the German model of the moronification of the Non-commissioned Officer Corp.

3) Officer re-training for the promoting of Austrian Officers to higher posts given the paucity of higher ranking Austrian officers. For the most part the Austrian Officer Schools are thought to be intact well enough to handle this challenge.

4) Cross training of the troops. While the officers, specialists, and NCOs are busy being banged into shape the lower ranking troops will be cross trained with one to two new military occupational specialties.

It is suggested that training groups from both the Legion and the UFE be organized to assist in this exercise. The reasoning for this is creating a reserve of skills within the Austrian Army. By giving soldiers the option for additional training, whether they use that training or not, ensures that in times of need that trained men are available through their secondary skill sets.

This is something that was quite common in the Austrian Military prior to the war, but the recent losses of men required the rapid training of Austrian soldiers with the briefest of training.

5) It is suggested that low ranking Austrian soldiers be pushed through a six week modified training program that is a finisher school of sorts to put the polish on them as soldiers. Men who can't march, can't salute properly, and who don't understand the basics of soldiering are a liability.

During times of war they fight like lions, but during times of peace they are a menace.

It is highly suggested this retraining not be undertaken all at once.

Start with the officers and work work our way down.

-Your Obedient Servant,
Dellion
