(OOC: I was bored of regular old titles so I used a Family Guy quote for the lulz, so sue me. Closed to JED and I)

IC:

The recent events in the Republic's only treaty partner was worrying. After much discussion with the Office of the Chancellor Charles was given an order to summon the Novarian ambassador for a long overdue explanation.

"Honored Ambassador,

Your presence is requested at the Office of the Executive Ambassador to discuss recent troubling developments within the Noverian nation. Failure to attend may cause the loss of diplomatic credentials.

Regards,

Agaitha O'Malley
Ambassadorial Services"
Nadilso Amorim, Noverian Ambassador, raised an eyebrow as he read over the message from the Texan Government. He proceeded to pen a message in reply to Mrs O'Malley:
"Esteemed Agaitha O'Malley,

I will meet with you shortly at the Office of the Executive Ambassador.

With regards,
Nadilso Amorim,
Noverian Ambassador"
It was short, brief, and to the point. But Amorim really didnt know what else to say, and he was intrigued about what the Texans wished to discuss with him. Surely, it had something to do with the Republic of Noveria, as they stated.

Standing up, he passed the note to an aide, ordering him to pass it on to the Ambassadorial Services. Putting on an overcoat and a hat, Amorim chuckled and shook his head as he removed his overcoat and hat, settling for a light coat instead. It was quite hot in Texas at this time, and he had to get used to this, given that he had spent all his life in the typically cold Ursalia-now-Noveria.

Amorim, a descendant of the late Vinilandese Foreign Minister Celso Amorim, got on a limousine and was transported to the meeting place. Once he arrived, he greeted the Executive Ambassador, "Hello, good to meet you. I believe I was called down to discuss about something?" He inquired with a friendly smile.

Charles Fountaine, Texas' Executive Ambassador was shocked at the speed of which the Noverian arrived. Ambassadorial Services barely got the Noverian note passed to his office before his aides announced their arrival. He signaled for the Texas Rangers to escort the Noverians up as he unleashed a flurry of orders to his staff. Within minutes properly labeled manilla photos containing reports from not only his office but other government agencies were brought into his office. Moments later he turned around after hearing his door open to the greeting from the Noverian ambassador, "Hello, good to meet you. I believe I was called down to discuss about something?"

Walking from behind his desk Charles extended his hand and shook the Noverians while at the same time eying the ambassador's clothing, "Thank you for coming so quickly ambassador. My name is Charles Fountaine, I am the Executive Ambassador for the Republic of Texas. Would you like something to drink? It's over a hundred degrees outside and you're wearing a jackey, surely you must be parched." Charles motioned for the Noverian to take a seat in front of his antique mahogany desk.

Amorim smiled as he took his seat in front of Fountaine's desk. "Yes, I would like a glass of water, please. Thank you, sir. And, yes, I am quite parched a bit. The weather here is something I have yet to get used to here in Texas. But nevertheless, your country is beautiful and I am honored to serve here as Ambassador." Amorim chuckled mentally to himself. He had to stop flattering people.

Charles poured a glass of water for Amorim and slid it across the desk saying as he did, "No doubt you're wondering why I've called you in here today. There was been many recent developments within your nation and some of the reports being broadcast from your nation are most irregular. I've requested your presence so you can explain to the Republic about these recent events."

Amorim nodded as he sipped his glass of water. Truth be told, he didn't really know exactly what had been happening inside the nation. He had been in faraway Texas when he'd received the news of the formation of the Republic of Noveria. This, truthfully, baffled and confused him, and it didn't help that he had been contacted by Salvador Nava himself, telling him to remain at his post. But if anything else, he could've suspected that some coup had happened there or something like that.

At least, that's what he got the feeling in his guts.

"Well, as you already know, the Holy Empire of Ursalia had been replaced by a Republic, of which had apparently taken steps toward consolidating democracy inside the country. From what I've been told, one of the government ministries, the Ministry of State Security, attempted to seize control of the country, and the Imperator disappeared, but the Grand Vizier thwarted the plot. Then the Grand Vizier proclaimed the formation of a new Republic, and it went on from there."

He paused to take another sip once again. "I'm not going to lie, I'm in the dark about this as much as you are. I have this feeling that there's more to that, but then, I don't know what it is. But it seems that the trend toward democracy had been apparently strengthened over there. I mean, they recently legalized the formation of political parties, established a new Constitution, and the like."

"Then you must share my frustration of being in the dark. Parliament has been most concerned with continuing a economic treaty with a nation that seems to be going through massive instability. Without further information, I'm not sure the Chancellor can continue to support our mutual treaty."

Amorim raised his eyebrows. "Oh. Well, from what I hear, the Republic of Noveria is stabilizing itself, and it has even indicated its commitments to the Confederation of Arctic Nations and to our treaty. You know, if the rumors I've been hearing around the Embassy is correct, while the country was undergoing instability, the corporations had supposedly continued to export resources such as oil and the like to neighboring nations, such as yours."

Amorim paused for a moment.

"Much remains yet to be known, yes, but I'm fairly confident that the republic would become stable in the long-run. From...all this that had happened, it does take some time to get situated, especially after what had so recently transpired. So, let me assure you on that premise that the Republic of Noveria would strive to maintain economic relations with the Republic of Texas."

"Although I must admit, I'm intrigued about this apparent increase of corporate involvement in the new government. Under the reign of the Holy Empire, I didn't hear much about them on the news. Now I'm seeing, and hearing, about them left to right." Amorim frowned a bit. "Strange."

"I'm afraid that Texas hasn't received any Noverian natural resources due to our ability to maintain ourselves based on domestic reserves and the Chancellor's transition to alternative energies. Like your nation, Texas now exports most of her oil resources to foreign nations. I think it would be best if I request for one of your new government ministers to come to the Republic and brief us on the changes. While you have eased my personal worries - you've also brought up a troubling issue, that of corporate involvement in your nation's politics. Corporations tend not to play nice with others so too much involvement in your government will worry Texas businesses. Which will have a negative impact on the economy here and something that must be avoided."

"Perhaps that should be the basis of further discussions? I will let the Foreign Affairs Directorate know of this, and arrange for a meeting between Director Nava himself, or a high-ranking government official, and you." Amorim set the empty glass down. "So...will that be all? Or do we have more to discuss?"

Amorim smiled and shook his head. "No, I'm good, but thank you." He stood up, straightening his jacket as he did so. "I will keep in contact with you regarding the next meeting. With that, it was a honor to meet with you, sir." He shook hands with Charles with a warm smile before he left.
