Throughout his election campaign Prime Minister Putin’s promised to redirect the country’s foreign policy away from what he labeled “disloyal regimes” and instead focus on more fruitful relationships. As luck would have it, during the election, Austria and Athens both had approached the former government to open diplomatic channels. He would start here.

Early in the afternoon the Prime Minister’s distinctive plane approached Athenian airspace and requested permission to land. A short time later the plane would be on the ground where Vladimir Putin’s would commence his first trip abroad since being reelected.

ooc: For Cent's eyes only, unless anyone else wants to have steamy relations with Slavorussia.

The plane was received with all the honor and preparations possible, upon entering Athenian airspace 6 F-99 would establish positions near the jet as a security escort after which it would land at an airbase specifically dedicated for the occasion. Much like the way leaders were received in the West honor guards and soldiers would be ready here. At the end of the line of honor guards Empress Ariadne would be waiting.

"Welcome to the Athenian Federation Prime Minister, it is an honor receiving you" She said.

The Prime Minister left his plane and inspected the honor guard as he approached the Empress with his entourage. He buttoned his jacket and adjusted his tie as he walked for the photographers on hand. A set of dark sunglasses hid his piercing eyes from sight and a cold smile cracked as he marched off the tarmac.

"Spasibo" he said stopping several feet away from the Empress. "I am honored to meet you Your Majesty."

"The honor is fully mine prime minister, it is not often that a Russian leader visits us and when one does. Well you will see in the car at the crowds that have come." Ariadne said as she began turning around towards a car.

"Please follow me, quarters and a conference room in the palace have been prepared"

Vladimir cracked a smile as he walked toward the car. He used his legendary charm and smile to disarm even his most hostile opponents, to hide a cold, calculating nature. "I am humbled by the warmth of you and of your people, ma’am. I am excited to see how the rest of the day unfolds."

The 2 leaders would be escorted to an armed convoy at which point they would step into a limousine.

Once inside the convoy would start driving at a relatively high speed to the palace which was located just outside of the actual city. Along the way the huge buildings featuring classical designs could be seen, while not easily expected from a city the size and importance there also were several large parks along the way. After driving for about half an hour the convoy went through the gates of the Imperial Palace. As soon as the convoy stopped in front of the main entrance well away from any press Imperial Guard would open the door of the limousine. Because it was still very much unsure what would come out of this meeting the choice had been made to go for a more informal setting, the Prime Minister and Empress were escorted to the Apollo room. There would be a few couches with paintings of historical figures on the walls and some statues dpicting Greek gods. Perhaps most importantly there was plenty of personnel and enough drinks of all kinds in storage.

"Please sit Prime Minister" She said before she ordered one of the staff to make her a glass of water. "Do you want anything to drink too?"

“I’ll just have water please” he replied. “I’m sure you’re as curious as I am to see where this discussion goes. I hope that during the course of our conversation I will be able to determine the feasibility of close diplomatic relations with the Athenian Federation. As you are no doubt aware Prime Minister Medvedev’s attempts at foreign policy ended in a series of failures.

As Russia’s new Prime Minister I want my goals to be clear, and to have worthwhile relations with other countries. I want us to avoid a repeat of failures like the ECO or Zurich and the disastrous alliances Slavorussia held with Ireland and especially England. I hope you feel the same.”

One of the aides would quickly give the Prime Minister a glass of water after which most of them left the room to give the 2 leaders the opportunity to talk freely, only a s single guard and handfull of aides would remain.

"I fully agree, see the issue with all these Pan-European blocs is that they try to create something which simply isn't there. There is no European unity, there are European states friendly toward each other and regional forces such as the Mediterranean and Baltic. I can say even though our moves might not have suggested the same but Athens has always felt a deep respect for the Slavorussian people. But yes I fully agree, my own policy has been aimed toward securing relations with those countries we could trust to help us in our time of need"

“Good, it sounds like you and I are on the same page. However after going through the situation that Britain subjected us to I believe we should start out slow, rather than making a mistake. I’d like to see economic and military cooperation between Athens and Slavorussia, but first we should discuss or strategic goals. For instance British imperialism and aggression from the United States of the Island and the United Kingdom are serious issues we’re attempting to address in Moscow.”

"I completely agree, too often have treaties been rushed. In addition to the keypoints you raised I would also like to discuss one of our own strategic goals. As you may know our parliament has recently requested a hardline response to nationalism in the traditional sense and fascism. I would like to ask what Slavorussia's position is on these matters. I do share your concerns on both the USI and the UK. On the former I feel they are overplaying their hands and making unreasonable demands that may well mean an end to this European peace we enjoy most of the time. The British Imperialism needs to be stopped, I am not sure if this new government will change anything from the old ways but I really do think the UK at the least can't be allowed to expand. I would also advocate them relinquishing control over Arctic land to a more local power."

“We are generally against fascism in all its forms. Our goals simply do not link up with the fascist ideals. Fascists have been and will always be the enemies of Russia. We have been had to suspend out treaty with Germany until the fascists are overthrown and the democratically elected government can be restored. My government would support any action you chose to enact toward European fascists and offer any material help you may need.”

OOC: Sorry Justi completely missed you posted :(

IC:

"I appreciate that point of view very much and to be honest it does not surprise me at all. If anything your own country has suffered the most under fascists throughout human history"

"Now are there any specific concerns in regards to Athens I may be able to address?"
