[b]Classified[/b] With the possibility of a rising power in France claiming to be of The House of Plantagenet, the King and Parliament decided the South Coasts defences would require much more firepower. Ontop of the existing complex fortifications along the coastline, many more would be constructed, aswell as a large battery of naval artillery built into the cliffs of Dover and surrounding area. Every beach along the south coast from Cornwall to Medway was made into a minefield ranging from anti personel to anti tank mines and was completly shut off to the public. The territorial waters along the south coast beaches were also covered by naval mines such as CAPTOR mines, magnetic mines and contact mines. Major military Ports such as Portsmouth, Southampton and Plymouth would be left un-mined for the passage of british military shipping. EEZ territory would not be mined nor would the Dover/Calais straight. Mobile starstreak anti air defences were deployed in higher intensity along the coastline as were MIM-104F patriot batteries for longe range aircraft interception. Further fortications would included complex earthworks that would over time be reinforced with rebar concrete, artillery batteries, ten large 100MJ Railguns spread out along the coast, further inland than other artillery and in specially constructed facilities to house them. The Royal Coldstream Guards and the Duke of Lancasters corps, a force of 100,000 men were re-deployed to the south coast to man the defences. The two corps would be strung out in Regiment size along the assigned areas of highst vuneribility. Moreover, Parliament gave the greenlight for a project that the MoD had been pushing for, for years now. A complete new road system for Military Traffic only to avoid deleys using civilian roadways. Trainlines would be laid across the nation for military traffic aswell for speedy deployments. The RAF presence in the south of England was raised from two squadrons of fighters and one squadron of strike aircraft to three figter squadrons, two strike aircraft squadrons and three multirole squadrons. In around a week, the Ark Royal Battlegroup would arrive back in British waters to patrol the North Sea whilst two Astute class submarines were redeployed from the Asian theatre of operations to Patrol the English Channel and the Bay of Biscay. GB-3 Widowmakers have also recieved massive commednations from pilots in the Asian theatre. Plans have been made to withdraw the GB-1 Sparrows and the RAF's heavy bombers in favour of highly specialised variants of the Bulldog and the Widowmaker. The upgrades will include intergration of the HELLAD system onto the GB-2 and GB-3's, introduction of the Pratt & Whitney F200 jet engine, a larger internal weapons bay and more space for externally held weapons aswell as the introduction of specially designed stealthy external fuel tanks for longer range missions. Advances in stealth technology will make the Bulldog and the Widowmaker a contender for one of the stealthiest 5.5 generation aircraft in Europe. The entire body on both jets will act as a RADAR system for its active phased array radar. It provides 360 degree lock on coverage. They will be equipped with forward infrared electronic-optical sensors which would allow for 90 degrees of forward long range detection on the infrared spectrum giving it the ability to engage targets even with stealth on multiple bandwidths and get the first shot. Zoot Zoot Posted July 3, 2011 Author Report Share Posted July 3, 2011 The secondary dedicated military road and rail network was well underway as contractors and REME Regiments toiled over Britains countrysides to finish it as soon as possible, but it was still years from completion. The Ark Royal Battlegroup had sailed into the English Channel and through the Dover straights into the North Sea after a pitstop in Portsmouth to disembark its marines. The Illustrious battlegroup, now reinforced with the mothballed ships that replaced those lost in Korea was to remain on station in the North Atlantic and the Swann Battlegroup moved into the Arctic Ocean around Franz Josef Land for an extreme weather shakedown exercise. The GB-7 is intended to be a light-weight supplement to existing 5.5 generation fighters and certainly not as a replacement. It will have a carrier variant for naval operations with Carriers in the Royal Navy. The Redcoat will likely have directed energy weapons—high-powered microwaves and lasers for defense against incoming missiles or as offensive weapons themselves. Munitions would likely be of the “dial an effect” type, able to cause anything from impairment to destruction of an air or ground target. Materials and microelectronics technologies would combine to make the aircraft a large integrated sensor, possibly eliminating the need for a nose radar as it is known today. It would be equipped for making cyber attacks as well as achieving kinetic effects, but would still have to be cost-effective to make, service, and modify. The vast amounts of data will be available to the pilot, who may or may not be on board the aircraft. The pilot will see wide-ranging, intuitive views of “the extended world” around the aircraft, he noted. The aircraft will collect its own data and seamlessly fuse it with off-board sensors, including those on other aircraft. The difference from fifth generation will be the level of detail and certainty—the long-sought automatic target recognition. Embedded sensors and microelectronics will also make possible sensor arrays in “locations that previously weren’t available because of either heat or the curvature of the surface,” providing more powerful and comprehensive views of the battlefield, although the aircraft probably won’t be autonomous, it will be able to “learn” and advise the pilot as to what actions to take—specifically, whether a target should be incapacitated temporarily, damaged, or destroyed. The GB-7 will have a much more lightweight and hold more space for weapon systems due to the elimination of wiring system.
