It was also home to the largest Slavic population in the Far East. It was here that the Federation would meet with leaders from across the historic Russian Empire to discuss the rebirth of a common cultural, economic, and even military community. Jia had ordered that outside the city an Imperial Cabin (read small palace in non chinese terms) would be built along the shores of the Pacific which would be the site of the summit. Security had been tightened for the summit. Military forces enforced a strict naval and air blockade for the leaders of the various nations to arrive. Following a string of poor foreign policy choices by his successor the new Premier promised to make it a priority of his to increase Slavorussia's reputation worldwide and to reshuffle foreign policy. He promised a shift away from corrupt western nations that sought to use and abuse Slavorussia and move toward more fruitful relationships with countries that were generally honest about their true intentions. Crown Prince Yuri was accompanied by Dr. Antonin Boskovic (leader of the Slavic Unity Party (SUP)) and a member of the Vaulian Diplomatic Corps who would serve as both a diplomat and a translator. She hoped that a summit such as this would secure leagues of allies for Austria's future, especially with tensions rising throughout the world and Austria's desperate need for foreign outreach after the Civil War. The nations invited, the Russian regions were the perfect theater to turn and with any luck, would increase Austria's prestige in addition to wealth, throughout the world. Each of the quarters had been equipped with conference rooms with secure communications and cars made available to the delegations for their stay. After being given a chance to freshen up, the guests would be invited around 6 pm for a cook out. Taking advantage of being in part of the UFE that was outside cultural China, Jia had been happy to take advantage of the allowance for much more casual cuisine. Several king salmon caught fresh that day had been smoked and had been prepared with regional grilled vegetables and full bar alongside a cask conditioned barley wine had been brought out from the Imperial collection. As the guests had all filtered in, Jia raised his mug, "My friends, on behalf of the United Federation of the East, Austria, as well as Empress Theresia and myself, welcome to our home and to our fair city." he said. "I have gathered you here to discuss restoring what once was. Our nations are very different but together we represent sizable chunks of the old Russian Empire and the former R.U.S.S.I.A.N. bloc. While the Federation originated in China and Vietnam, since liberating the Far East, we have done our best to restore both the native and ethnically Russian population's cultural heritage. It is our belief that our nation's can work together to restore what once was, and forge a regional bloc of cooperation on a military, economic, and political level, as well as decrease barriers to cultural interaction and transmission." Although wary about the numerous European nations at the meeting, the presence of many friendly Asian nations like the UFE and Vaule gave the Marscurian leadership hope for the summit. Our luck with the corrupt western powers has only paid off in pounds of blood and tears. However, we should be cautious and avoid chasing ghosts of the past because that road leads to failure.
