Our nations my not have had much contact in the past, however, we hope that during this meeting we can together reach a new age of prosperity. JEDCJT
"A representative will be dispatched to Canada to attend the meeting." - Salvador Nava, Foreign Minister PRIVATE A medium-rank diplomatic official, before embarking upon the journey to Canada, received his debriefing from his superior in the Diplomatic Services of COMPNOR, detailing out his duties and expectations. With this completed, the official boarded a unmarked jetliner; it flew off a base somewhere near Ursalia City, heading in the direction of Canada. Aggressivenutmeg
OOC: Skipping to the meeting "Welcome everyone, to St. Pierre. I'm Nathan Campbell, the Co-ordinator of Foreign Affairs." Nathan said as he shook the deligates hands. "Now, if you are all ready we shall begin." He took his seat, facing the other deligates, at a round table. "Now, this meeting was called, to disscus the formation of a Pan-Continental MDoAP block, or at the least, to sow the seeds for such an agreement in the future. We also hope for free trade and intelligence sharing between our nations, as well as joint administration of any protectorates in North America Continent." JEDCJT
"Holy Ursalia would be open to discussion about a pan-continential defense bloc, as well free trade and intelligence-sharing. It, however, would not be as open to the notion of joint-administration of protectorates in North America. The Empire will administer its protectorate(s) by itself. However, we do believe that joint-administration should occur only with the sole consent of the protector(s)." Michael McBride
OOC: Skipping to the meeting "Welcome everyone, to St. Pierre.
Under-Secretary Cameron had to stifle a laugh before responding. "No on the first proposal. We're sorry, but most of you are simply too new or we don't trust you to sign a pan-continental MDoAP. Free trade, no. Free trade only helps those nations with lower or no minimum wage while hurting those nations with a standard of living to uphold. Intelligence sharing, perhaps. Joint administration of protectorates?" At this, Cameron did laugh out loud. "That new nations think they can better govern protectorates than nations who have been here for generations is truly laughable."
Dinoz94
"Yes, the Free State is all ears to this agreement. After all, cooperation between the various North American states is essential to aid in dealing with national threats. Not all of us are large states like Ursalia or Pravus Ingruo, with our nation being an example of such."
Sargun II
"Pan-continental MDoAPs have only ever worked out in Africa, and that was dozens of years ago," the representative stated. "Free trade is for nations that don't have the ability to take care of themselves - it would only undermine our higher standards that we have placed on ourselves. Intelligence sharing is preferable, because the ability of a nation to defend itself is rasied if we share relevant information and relevant information only. Protectorate administration is also a big no-no."
Aggressivenutmeg
"It seems to be a definate no to joint protectorates. Well, if Nova Scotia and Ursalia are willing, we will pursue the other facets of the agreement, and invite other American nations to join."
