Dear leaders of Planet Bob,

Most of you have probably seen the two threads regarding The Resistance.

The International would like to inform all of you that, since The Resistance never officially disbanded, we still hold a treaty with The Resistance and will not allow anyone to raid any of their members.

I'm getting old, and I'm always willing to admit that I forget many things, but I don't [i]recall[/i] an official disbandment. It is true that the Resistance has been dying a slow death, and most key members have gone on to other alliances, but I'm not aware of an official notice of their demise.

Like I said before, if there was a disbandment notice then I completely missed it -- but until you produce such evidence, I'm going to stand by my assertion that the alliance has a contiguous history and the treaty still exists.

The mouthpiece of Justitia does not dictate the foreign policy of the International.

Take it easy, Francis, at no point did I try to "dictate your foreign policy." What I said was that International says that Resistance didn't disband, but Resistance says they did disband.

It's not a matter of what you think I am trying to dictate, I simply pointed out that you two are clearly not on the same page about what happened, and that I think it's kind of odd/funny. I guess you can pin it on the "official" caveat. Either way, I think it's a little odd--but totally your judgement call--to say that an alliance that disbanded and now has some new guy running it out of the blue still has a treaty with you because no one ever posted a disbandment thread.

First, i would like to take this chance to thank The International for showing their true metal and not believing into this propaganda that we disbanded or dissolved.

second, i also like to clear the situation, Did we disband? No! did most core members leave? yes.

third, answer this question for me, why is their members who date almost 2 years in this alliance if we disbanded?

fourth, i did not expect any body to care for this, the fact that The International is sticking up for its treaty amuses me...

Also, my main issue with this really just has to do with the primary question at hand: why would you WANT to be allied to these guys? I don't know the primary poster personally, but he sure doesn't seem that intelligent from his posts.

For one thing, it's not a matter of WANT. We ARE allied to The Resistance. The treaty was never cancelled. Right now, we don't really know what we're treatied to, but we intend to find out. And if we think they have potential, we will attempt to help the new leadership find its place on Planet Bob.

Also, judging alliances by their most vocal OWF posters generally doesn't work. I mean, for a while FinnishCommie was our most vocal OWF poster

I must admit I am surprised tR still possess a measure of existence, hell I am sure all the ex-LEO alliances and their govts can remember the trouble we had trying to talk to tR at the time! their irc channel was full of anyone but tR members for months on end. I wish you the best, but perhaps at this point you should consider finding a new home. Everyone who was active in TR is long gone. You clearly loved the alliance, but for all intents and purposes it no longer exists.
