Our military forces have reported sighting of Sri Lanka's soldiers, equipments and vehicles on our soil and conducting hostile actions against us in support of the dangerous radical communist rebels. Their cargo aircraft that dropped off their unwelcome stuff were identified as belonging to Sri Lanka. Currently their forces are on a rampage in Michigan or Wisconsin and our nearby forces have been unable to halt them.

There had also been reports of Sri Lanka's aircraft flying toward our airspace or have already entered our airspace, and they are obviously not peaceful. Sri Lanka is well aware of the consequences of dropping their military forces on us uninvited with violent intentions, or so we hoped.

Midwest Republic is now at war with Sri Lanka.

------------------------------------------------------
A few minutes later, an international broadcast from President Natas:

"Vice President George is not at his best mental shape currently. He just lost two of his top generals and was unable to accept that fact that his forces are doomed to be defeated. It doesn't help the fact that there's no one available to stop his delusional actions from destroying what remains of his little super-ultra-capitalist la la land. Oh, try not to level our country."

OoC: As per the bolded parts of the quote above, for the 1st two, I thoroughly enjoy the vagueness :awesome:

Second, whose airspace are they going through to get to you, as you are kinda in the middle of the continent if I am not mistaken.

IC: While no official statement was released from PRA government, many citizens polled in a recent survey about the war were shocked at the conflict.

OOC: I'm assuming Lyth sent stealth aircraft. My anti-air radars barely picked them up. Just enough to know that there's something heading towards them and it's certainly not a civilian or rebel aircraft, but they don't know what it is or where it is coming from.

Jia was extremely giddy when he heard the news. !@#$ was boring recently. Popcorn would be made.

A dispatch was made:
The UFE is neutral in its current conflict, but it will destroy !@#$%*^.
We wish it to be known that the Eastern French convict known popularly by the nickname 'Sir Lanka' remains in high security containment in Marne and that any attempt by the Midwest Republic to attack him in his prison will result in a flower being sent to the Republic and a note thanking them for saving us the time and money of executing Sir Lanka ourselves.

Finland inquires as to whether this 'Sir Lanka' could in fact be a Mrs. Lanka, for we have in the registers of our Punjabi population a 78 year old widow, Mrs. Lanka who was married to a certain Sir Henry Lanka who passed away 16 years ago.
Finland will honor any arrest warrant or extradition request that the Midwest Republic may make on this Mrs. Lanka if significant proof is found.

The Kingdom of Rhodes would silently post a travel-ban to the Midwest Republic as well as banning any financial ties to the nation so long as they allowed such idiocies to be aired across the world.

"We would like to note that Sri Lanka has no forces on American soil.
However, it might be possible that Vanguard Industries was paid to intervene on behalf of the rebels. Vanguard is a weapons supplier of Sri Lanka as well as a mercenary company, even having an aircraft carrier at their disposal.
It thus is very possible that the loyalist forces of the Midwest Republic are facing mercenary forces which are using the same or similar weapons as Sri Lanka's forces.

We have no military assets anywhere near the American continents, and will continue this policy. Sri Lanka is only interested in keeping the peace of the Indian Ocean.
What Vanguard Industries does, or is commissioned to do, is not of our concern."

OOC: Seriously people, just because of a little typo you have to !@#$ around like that?

Pursuant to our Mutual Defense Pact with Sri Lanka, Selenarctos recognizes a state of war with the Midwest Republic. We hope that this misunderstanding can be resolved without a clash of arms, but will support Sri Lanka with the full extent of our military force if necessary.

"No need to panic. Even before our little civil war started, the Midwest Republic has a mediocre air force that is incapable of flying outside of the continent without being forced to fly back for refuel, lacks medium or long range missiles and doesn't have a naval force. It's highly unlikely that the loyalists can build up such inventory during the war, or can spare even one soldier for the invasion of another country when they're tied up trying to beat us down."

"Vanguard Industries is a PMC based in Sri Lanka. It went through all legal hurdles needed to be recognised as non-affiliated with the Sri Lankan government, purchasing an aircraft carrier as well as all their other equipment.
The number of forces they have is regulated by the government, but what Vanguard does with these troops is outside our jurisdiction.
Now, despite your uninformed declaration of war, we will not be pursuing any sort of action against the 'loyalist' Midwest Republic government.
We also request Selenarctos to stand down. Only when a MR navy comes within 500 kilometers of Sri Lanka will we ask for a heightened state of alert. The same applies to our good ally, the Kingdom of Cochin."
- President Rajapaksa

"Vanguard has been contracted to defend TriOptimum and Xanatos Enterprises assets in the Midwest Republic.
Midwest forces opened fire upon our troops without any sort of warning. We retaliated, and due to loyalist aggression, consider these forces to have a negative impact on TO and XE assets. We thus are obligated to remove this threat.
If you want to blame someone, talk to the men who ordered the attack on the airport our troops were landing at."

"Airport? You landed your aircraft on an enemy military base, no surprise that your forces got caught in the crossfire! Did you really think our soldiers would be stupid enough to figure; "Those unknown suspicious armed and armored guys with some tanks and armored vehicles hanging around the rebels that we're about to crush are totally not going to be a problem. Hey? Why not blow our surprise away and risk receiving fire from the rebels so we can check if those new armed guys are non-violent or not?"? Why didn't you contact us before deciding to deploy your forces? Too impatient with us?

Attacking innocent civilians and businesses is not our style. Now if the two businesses that you were hired by did assist the rebels, then there's a problem. If not, they will be left alone like all other businesses and civilians."

Taken by surprise by this conflict in the Midwest Republic Katrina fired her whole intelligance agency members before ordering that only qualified citizens apply. Hopefully this would be avoided in the future.

In the meantime the majority of the Missouri armed forces were mobilised to the Midwest Republic/ Missouri border. Five thousand soldiers with transports were ordered to sit tight whilst new orders were planned. With only very little firepower in the form of infantry heavy weapons and towed anti-tank and artillery pieces it was hoped they would'nt have to be used.

"But did you attempt contact us before waltzing over Midwest Republic? Did you attempt to contact us to know where to fly over instead of rolling the hard six and flying over a random area? No? Guess so."

"You had no aerial superiority at that time."

-President Natas

"People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. You only had a puny fistful of jet planes up in the air because you burnt up almost of your aircraft fuel and rendered most of your winged-aircraft into the world's most expensive collection of metal paperweights. I'm pretty sure by now you have no more fuel for your aircraft by now. What are you going to do? Roll them toward my tanks?"

-President George

---------------------------------
"I'll do that when your makeshift HQ is under siege, just for you."
