According to exit polls by the Electoral Commission, most immigrants of the Germanic Union (who were granted citizenship immediately upon immigration to the Republic of Transvaal according to the Citizenship Act which grants automatic citizenship to all members of the White/Aryan/Caucasian ethnic class) supported the National Party. Most Transvaler-German citizens appreciated the strong commitment to nationalist/conservative values and a strong, active goverernment that pledged to continue the alliance with the Germanic Union.

Political observers expect a German interest party but currently the National Party has a strong Germanic outreach program. A Martencist platform is supported by a large segment of the population but it is unknown whether a purely Martencist platform would hold up in direct elections.

Frederik Vorster, an upstart Afrikaner politician belonging to the National Party has been appointed Prime Minister by Staatspresident van Haesten in the wake of the National Party's overwhelming victory in the 2011 election.

Contested by Annetjie van Matteus and other National Party heavyweights, the Nationalist leadership contest was long, drawn out and brutal by most leadership election standards. Frederik Vorster, a former aide to Marthinus Hofmeyr was considered a long-shot candidate before surviving multiple rounds of voting. In the end, most analysts consider him a compromise candidate. Coming from a strong Afrikaner background to appeal to the Afrikaner base of the party, his Cape Town residency and fluency in English made him able to compete for Anglo-Transvaler votes. Furthermore, his previous proposal to transfer millions of rands to the Tahoe Nationalist Movement made his support among the Tahoan electoral bloc secure.

After the neo-fascist and former Prime Minister, Annetjie van Matteus, was defeated in the third round of voting, the race was anybodies to win. Frederik Vorster surprised many pundits by coming out on top, though his endorsement by numerous organizations in the fourth and final round of voting all but ensures his political ability to push the National Party platform, so long as he sticks to his electoral promise to promote all white interests, including strong appeals to all four primary White electoral blocs: the Afrikaners, Anglos, Tahoans and Germans.

The government of Arctica formally congratulates Frederik Vorster on his accession to the post of Prime Minister, but among the public, questions have arisen as to whether the new government can maintain, or even wishes to maintain the relationship that the countries enjoyed under the tenure of Staatspresident Botha.

"It is my great hope to spread Transvaal's diplomatic relationships around the world. Naturally, we desire to have peaceful, mutually-respectful and cooperative relations with the governments of all nations. A major priority of the Government will be to further diplomatic relations with the world, while still maintaining the South Africa first ideals that I campaigned upon. I believe my election is a reset in foreign affairs. Maintaining friendly relationships and mending broken ones. We will move forward together."

Prime Minister Frederik Vorster
