His Highness Kerala Varma, the King of Cochin would arrive at Beijing in his King's Guards Fleet Airbus 380 escorted by the new Jadayu Mark. 4s of King's Guards Squadron. With cooperation from Beijing Police, the reinforced limousine within the King's Fleet A380 accompanied by the King's Guard Chaver guards would drive down to Zhongnanhai.

On meeting with the August Imperator of United Federation of the East, Kerala Varma would speak, "Hello Mister Jia. I am truly honored at being extended this invitation. I hope that your nation is well? I want to personally thank you for all the assistance you gave to our embassy personnel during the riots of Beijing and also the assistance your nation gave us during the evacuation of our Embassy in Tokyo."

Sitting in his private study, Jia was reviewing notes for the meeting. Jia had found it still rather surreal to have this moment with his old rival. Still he had the King somewhat to thank, by checking Chinese growth to the West, China had developed into a powerful maritime nation expanding to the South and East, becoming a much more powerful maritime trading state like those historical ones in Western Europe and America rather than a traditional Eurasian empire. This had lead to an unprecedented rise in the standard of living for most ordinary Chinese. Further, the Cochinese had proven themselves as good allies in the previous several kinetic actions the UFE had been involved in. There really was little reason now not to formalize the relationship further.

An aide got the eye of the August Imperator coming in from the corner of his private study. "He's here?" Jia asked. The aide nodded.

Jia made his way to the conference room shortly before the King walked in. As the King offered him greetings Jia returned them, "It was our pleasure. We would also like to thank you for your assistance in defeating Maine. It is truly terrible that such a tragedy had to occur anywhere in the world. Please sit." he said motioning for the king to take a seat.

Sitting down himself on the other side of the table an aide brought in some tea for both of them. "Of course I did not ask you to make the trip to exchange thanks. The United Federation of the East feels that the relationship between us and the Kingdom of Cochin has improved considerably in recent years. As we share one of the largest borders in the world, as well as are the largest two nations population wise, we would like to discuss improving our diplomatic arrangements. Specifically we would like to discuss normalizing the borders and upgrading our defense arrangement to a mutual defense pact.

In my vision of the borders both of us have built considerable military fortification and while I do not think this needs to be disassembled, perhaps both sides could reduce the total conventional forces on the border and opening up more border land to commercial and trade for developing economic ties."

"Normalizing of relations between our nations would indeed be a welcome step. The degree of trust and mutual operability our nations have achieved since the declaration on Tibet and Xinjiang has indeed being remarkable. As nations with fundamental similarities which has emerged in the clarity of recent peace, we would indeed be worthy allies. As enforcers of regional stability and as stakeholders of global peace, an alliance between our two nations would indeed bring greater peace and stability to our volatile world.

Indeed it is a shame that people who share such cultural traits and traditions as our border regions are restricted in mutual trade and contacts due to hostilities and difference of opinions between the governments. We are interested in signing a Mutual Defense Pacts along with a reduced conventional military build up and greater trade and commercial contacts. Besides with the normalizing of relations with United Federation of the East, the Kingdom faces more hostile forces to our West, " His Highness Kerala Varma replied.

In regards to issues to your west. I keep in regular contact with both the Rebel Army, Novak, and Greater Nordic Empire of Dalmatia. I sincerely doubt any of them really has any true hostile intentions towards the Kingdom. Especially with an update of this treaty, it would be difficult for either to do so without coming into conflict with their obligations to the UFE. Such an action would require informing the Sovereign Initiative Security Council which I sit on, and I would strenuously object to such an action without a serious cause, which I do not foresee any evidence of your nation intending to provide."

His Highness Kerala Varma, The King of Cochin read through the draft treaty document and nodded his agreement to the wording of the document. Then he replied, "Rebel Army is one of the peaceful and languid nations on the planet. We have hardly any conflicts with them. We hold a Non Aggression Pact with Novak and hence have no differences with them either. The Greater Nordic Empire of Dalmatia has historically been unfriendly towards the Kingdom. Despite an interlude of friendliness during the time of Caucasia it has been a relationship fraught with coldness and mistrust. While we are sure that we can count on the good offices of United Federation of the East in times of any conflict, we must take our own steps at ensuring the safety and security of our people. The Nordic supremacist ideologies of GNED is also something we find highly distasteful and we do worry about our Kazakh brethren who live in GNED and the threats of ethnic and cultural subnegation they face everyday. But then again why darken the atmosphere of this joyous occasion by talking of them! Imperator Jia I sign this treaty on behalf of the Kingdom of Cochin," and signed the document.

"Indeed, but know that we'd be happy at any time to work with both your nation and the GNED to lower those concerns. That said I'm sure there won't be much that comes of it right now." Jia said fixing his signature to the document.
Signed: Jia, August Imperator of the United Federation of the East
"May Asia know peace in our time." he said raising his cup of tea as an informal toast.
