AironthFlamewing
A diplomatic chopper from the City-State of Torun has taken off and made its way towards the closed airspace of the United States of the Islands. A radioed message was sent from the copter asking for permission to land. OOC: skip ahead please
PresidentDavid
The Irish Sea Three F-15s zoomed over the small diplomatic helicopter going nearly the speed of sound. "Overlord this is Celt One, there is an unarmed chopper entering our airspace, we would have gone hot but there are no visible weapons. Permission to engage?" Overlord took a sip of coffee, looking at the large screen of the British Isles with hundreds of plains in the air, "Negative Celt One, stand down. They are diplomats from Torun I believe. If you could make sure they make it to Douglas safely it would be much appreciated, over." Celt Two and Three took their fingers off the trigger and followed the lead of Celt One. "Diplomatic Chopper this is Celt One, we will be escorting you to Douglas, please stay on your current trajectory and we'll be there soon." Douglas Once the helicopter was within half of a kilometer three heavily armed Coast Guard helicopters brought them into landing near the capital. Seven National Guardsmen armed with M-16s greeted the diplomats and brought them to a limousine which brought them the Orange House. Upon arriving at the Orange House two F-15s flew by at almost supersonic speeds. National Guardsmen were everywhere and the city was alive and in order. Tight security measures were put in place to make sure that no other attacks could happen from the inside. The diplomats were brought into the Orange House and to a meeting room. Vice President Robert came in first but President David quickly followed in after, "Good afternoon friends. I was told you are from Torun?" David was holding a tray of coffee and handed the diplomats each a cup, "It might still be hot. So what can I do for you guys?"

It was not permitted to land for fuelling. It would also not be permitted to return across British Airspace.
PresidentDavid
The President, who had been anticipating the return of his lover, dialed the secure number into the phone for the leader of the UK. Once answering, "I am sorry to trouble you at this time but some diplomats were sent from Torun to the United States by chopper. I would appreciate if you turned them over to me - they are flying under the white flag of peace and are on diplomatic terms to the United States. I would hope this wouldn't put you in any type of inconvenience." Edited April 25, 2011 by PresidentDavid

They are not permitted to Land in England for fuel, nor will they be allowed to cross British airspace on their return journey. Pass that on" He then hung up. AironthFlamewing
The chopper was steadily running out of fuel after the last refuel in German held France. The occupants all, diplomats and pilots alike ditched the copter into the Irish Sea hoping as their copter crashed that they would be picked up soon. PresidentDavid
David looked at the phone and yelled out to the Vice President, "Robert, when I write my book remind me to mention why we are not a monarchy." David speed-dialed OverLord, "OverLord here." The President then spoke, "OverLord this is President O'Reilly. Get the coastguard over there." AironthFlamewing
OOC: well this was rather circuitous... IC: The diplomats lead by Orlik Wojtyla bowed before the brave President of the United States of the Islands. "Sir, when I thought your nation lost, I laid a red rose upon the altar of St. Stanislaus in Torun. Today, I present that rose to you preserved in this oaken box as a keepsake of friendship between our nations. You ask us what we want from your nation, We ask for a mutual defense agreement. Too long has your nation been bullied by foreign powers who attempted to claim your lives through nuclear holocaust or other aggressions. We in Torun have felt these shockwaves trembling throughout Europe. We see your nation as a true beacon of hope, honor and strength for the future, and we want to do whatever it is we can in order to protect that ideal. PresidentDavid
OOC: Eh I like it. You're going to get a free aircraft out of it. IC: David patted the poor man on the back, "Aye, I am very sorry for this major inconvenience. I guess the British are a little jumpy right now." David looked over to his assistant Lewis, "Get two of my suits and one of Susan's dresses!" After the president and diplomats had came back David was holding the rose, "You say I am a beacon of hope... It is an honor to hear that, a true honor. Mr. President I can assure you for now on you can come and go to the USI without being scared of crashing, I cam promise you that." David handed each of them a cup of coffee, "Look guys, it's getting dark - you can all spend the night. I think this house is big enough for the heads of state of two micro-nations." David kept the rose close to his heart as he continued to speak, "If you are all feeling okay, let's take a seat to talk. Dinner will be ready shortly." AironthFlamewing
Wojtyla looked over and up towards the "Orange House" his mouth agape and a loud guffaw escaping his lips. "David, my boy... this little house shall do us quite well, By Jove, this place is bigger than my Summer home in Torunian Wawel Castle." Wojtyla took off motioning his diplomats to follow then up the path towards the President of the USI who had a few steps on him and was close to the door to Orange House. PresidentDavid
David laughed and patted Wojtyla's back. "Welcome partner. Welcome to the USI, Land of The Free and Home of The Brave." Once inside they all talked over dinner, David and Robert sitting next to each other at the head of the table, "So what would you like to discuss first everyone? We have all night." AironthFlamewing
Wojtyla took command once again and said simply, first I would like to propose our first diplomatic trade, What do you say... My finest bottle of Torunian Vodka I have with me, for your finest bottle of Red Wine... Is this a fair deal?
PresidentDavid
President David laughed, "Deal." Robert was enjoying the alcohol while David was trying a little more to control himself. David would have normally gotten angry at Robert but he had given up alcohol for Lent plus they were almost destroyed today. The first course came out, a lush salad. "So what brings you to The USI friend? I would love for us to talk on diplomatic terms and make some type of friendship." AironthFlamewing
Wojtyla beamed and shook his head... "Ah, to business then. We come in peace and we come to honor your people... My Government in Torun has seen the great things your nation has done on the world stage and you as I told you earlier are a beacon of hope and honor to the World. Simply, we offer a high level military defence treaty because we know the dangers of the world, and we want to protect the USI as best we can because you are not only the world's beacon, but the beacon of Torun. As long as your people stand unflinching, there is hope remaining in the world."
PresidentDavid
David gave a light smile while he chewed his stake, "Well Mr. President, I thank you for your kind words but now hear this. The United States may not be the most powerful nation but we are definitely one of the loudest. With that being said we only exist because of the alliances we have with other nations. That being said, we exist because we have friends - not because we have protectors. Look at the Kingdom of Cochin. They are here for their own interests but we are not their puppet - I do not do the whole puppet game and I hope any leader after me that does is shot. I would love for the United States and Torun to be allies, however you need to remember that you give us requests, you do not give us orders. I apologize if that seemed crude but I like other stronger nations to understand that when we become friends." Robert happily ate a spoonful of mashed potatoes while David continued, "As far as being a beacon of hope, I am honored you see that and could only hope that my own people see the USI as that. Tell me Mr. President, don't you think it is sad how so many nations sing treaties in dark rooms and let the papers print what happened?" Blue haired Áine walked into the room in a casual shirt and skirt, quickly scampering barefoot over to David. David laughed softly and nervously, "This is my daughter Áine, she's from Ireland..." Áine blushed because she knew she wasn't supposed to be seen by foreigners but she did of course have many rights that trumped David's. She whispered something into his hear and his eyes lit up, "She is? Tell me about how it went later. If I am not finished by the time of the arrival bring her to her chambers and tell her I will talk to her afterwords." Áine nodded and gave a slight bow to the diplomats, "Afternoon" thus leaving the room as she entered it. David then continued, "Anyway, I don't think the signing of a treaty should be something done in a dark room - unless made with a long time enemy that you do not want peace with. Would you gentlemen be up to having something public, maybe on the Orange House front lawn?" David sat back a little, "I think we have about $75,000 we could spend on it in that leftover fund for... repairing the rail road to New Dublin? I bet I can get it approved by congress in an hour. They are in session over something about statehood for the Western Isles. I like the idea though David. What do the rest of you think?" AironthFlamewing
Wojtyla chewed his delicious steak and sipped on his vodka. "My friend, never would my people dream of doing any harm towards yours. We only wish the best of peace exist between our nations. What is it that the Good Book says? Do unto others as you will have them do unto you? and also Love one another as I have loved you. That love is what my nation seeks to share with yours. No hostility, no anger, no bloodshed, just honor and peace; As to where we hold the ceremony for the treaty, Hold it on the front lawn with the people crowded amongst us. Openness and honesty my good friend are key in government, if we lack the public's approval then we are governors of nothing."
PresidentDavid
"Then that settles it, we do it tomorrow." The final course, a small bowl of ice cream, was given to everyone. After eating some of it, David enjoyed the rest of his coffee.
AironthFlamewing
Wojtyla dove into his icecream with fervour and smiled happily like a child at Christmas. OOC: your move mate you make next big post
PresidentDavid
The Next Day The Front Lawn Hundreds of reporters were crowded, all trying to get a chair, while David and Robert were talking together about the treaty. The full $75,000 budget had been spent down to the last penny. Everything was beautiful and nearly perfect. Cameras were up, a few celebrities were there, it would be the first official broadcast from the United States to the entire planet. OOC: You can write up the treaty partner

PresidentDavid
For The United States Signed, David Anthony O'Reilly The crowds yelled and cheered as the two men shook hands. Back In Douglas David patted his new friend in the back, "I know you may be wondering how you will get back to Torun." David's assistant removed the blindfold from Wojtyla's head and in front of them was a small commuter aircraft with Torun markings on it. "This craft will conveniently get you back to Torun - it's yours. Before you say no, think if it this way. You gave me the rose, I give you the plane - it means that much to me." David patted the other president on the back, "God's speed friend."
