**Classified, but observable**

The troops would be placed on high alert for any attacks. Patrols were increased, and the base itself moved to DEFCON 3. They remained in constant communication with the homeland.

OOC: Being intentionally vague as to who they are in contact with so as to not give away the ending of the Superman thread.

The Cadian and Venaland Guards corps spread out rapidly in Wales moving from city to city and re-establishing law and order. All former Irish soldiers were stripped of their military gear and let free with all civilian possessions they owned. Cardiff, Swansea, Tenby, Brecon, Cardigan, Aberystwyth, Barmouth, Holyhead and Llandudno were soon under British control, the Irish flags removed and burned and Union Flags alongside Welsh Flags raised. The people of Wales seems very under nourished and their conditions were dire. Thousands of contractors flooded Wales behind the Army with humanitarian convoys filled with food and water. Engineers worked into restoring gas, electricity and clean running water.

Coming up the rear of the Cadian and Venaland units, the Duke of Lancasters Corps advanced through the smaller towns and villages of Wales, establishing martial law until such a time order was fully restored. The Duke of Lancasters also sized many Irish bases and re-activated their radar networks and anti air defences to keep full coverage of the airspace. RAF GB-1 Sparrows along with other aircraft maintained air superiority over Wales, Scotland and Ireland.

In Scotland, a regiment of paratroopers had been dropped over Glasgow and had already secured the city, the people of Scotland were slightly better off than the people of Wales, but not by far. The Guards Corps had almost finished a ground advance into Scotland, with major cities being claimed hourly by liberating, British Army units. Scottish flags however, were not removed and burned, Union Flags were hoisted alongside the St Andrews cross. Army air battalions gained ground swiftly and secured the rest of the more remote settlements. The Mercian Corps followed up behind the Guards and began establishing martial law until a later date and a local Government was established. The Mercians also seized Scottish radar establishments nationwide and brought them online, along with the Scottish anti air defence network.

Generals thought a resistance would spring up, but it didnt. The peoples of Wales and Scotland were cheering in the streets and singing their respective anthems, showing British soldiers with what gifts they could spare. The British forces in the regions established temporary healthcare centers, food distribution and humanitarian centers, aswell as several massive refugee camps along the Anglo-Welsh border. The nuclear attacks commited by Ireland in the war had been cleaned up on the English side of the border, but hundreds of miles of Welsh countryside was ruined and even the city of Cardiff, a city the Irish has almost destroyed with nuclear weapons in a bid to halt the Coalition, had simply been left abandoned by the Irish authorities.

In Ireland, 15,000 paratroopers had been dropped throughout the night over Belfast and Dublin and had seized control of the cities. With the help of German paratroopers, order was soon established with very little resistance springing up in the smaller towns and settlements towards the south of Ireland. With airports and ports secure in Belfast and Dublin, a further 45,000 troops and their equipment were flown and shipped into Ireland. Irish flags in Ireland were not removed or burned, but Union Jacks were hoisted alongside them across the country as regiments of soldiers powered across the emerald isle. Resistance got increasingly heavy in Cork City, but precision air strikes from the RAF destroyed the Irish rebels armoured vehicles, leaving them naked. Casualties did mount however due to the increasing number of carbombs and IED's lying in wait as the troops pacified the population. It became evident that the Irish rebels wouldnt win against the Paratroopers, Royal Marines, or the Special Forces of England that were activly hunting down rebels using anti insurgency tactics and continued denial of resources to enemy forces. Martial law was established nationwide and plans were made for a further 40,000 soldiers to land in Ireland from the Svalbard and FJL garrisons.

The King issued a decree to the former regions of the UK and in short it said;

"By order of King Alfred Windsor, all soldiers of the former United Kingdom are hereby pardoned from the crimes of their King, if you disarm and turn your weapons over, you will be permitted to, without obstruction, return home to your families. Your will receive a full state pension. To all citizens of Scotland, Wales and Ireland, consider yourselves citizens of the Commonwealth."

The King also issued another decree, but through international channels.

"The former territories of the Kingdom of Ireland are hereby annexed into the Commonwealth of England and Maine in order to prevent a hostile regime from rising up and using nuclear weapons against English cities. The British Isles are now secure and stable and we no longer need to fear that war will engulf these Islands.

I must make it clear, an attack against these territories is an attack on sovereign British soil and will be responded too in kind."

A final message was sent to the American Garrison.

The base commander read over the note and quickly penned back a reply.
Your Majesty,

The decision to leave or stay is not one that can be made by me. Only the homeland, and whomever wins in this current conflict, with be authorized to make such a decision. I will tell you that the Empire signed a 100-year lease for this base, and that both the former Emperor Harland and current Emperor Atkinson-Asgeirsson have no plans to remove our forces from land that is, technically, our sovereign territory.

Signed,
General Zachary Cox
Commander of Imperial Military Base: Ireland

To General Zachary Cox,

Unfortunately the legal document for the base is now void with the collapse of the UK. We are willing to pay in full, whatever is required. An example would be we are willing to pay in annual payments, the money is would cost to operate the base for one hundred years. If you would be so kind as to forward these messages to Emperor Atkinson-Asgeirsson please?

Signed
Sincerley
Your Majesty,

Unfortunately for your situation, this was not a lease based on a legal document. This was an exchange of land, sovereign territory, for each nation as a show of trust and respect. What I and my men stand on is not Irish territory, or Scottish territory, or English territory. It is Imperial territory, and has been for quite some time. This base is as much our sovereign territory as any embassy, or the homeland itself. I will not negotiate with you, sir. Should you wish to negotiate, you will need to contact whomever wins this conflict. They will make any decisions. But until we hear from them, me and my men will not be moving one inch off our sovereign territory.

Signed,
General Zachary Cox
Commander of Imperial Military Base: Ireland
