Stay classy, DK.

See, I rooted for you when you were in the first GUN and when you did Star Fleet. I was a bit hesitant when you did Blackstone because of the timing (it was pretty quickly after Starfleet) and the name, but since I respected you from that other world where I met you, I rooted for you. However, when you quickly left Blackstone, I really started to question whether you were really as good of a leader as I'd thought. Then you dropped out of Blackstone, did UNSC, seemed to run it pretty well for awhile, causing me to be more confident in your leadership ability. But once again, you left an alliance that you created. You went one further this time, changing your name at the same time founding a new alliance right away. When people are in a lot of alliances in a short time, other people start to wonder whether that person is really a good person to depend on because they're starting to look really flaky. The same is true for people that use a lot of names. People change names to get away from their pasts and when someone has used many names, it can make even the most objective observer start to wonder what they're running away from. You may break the pattern this time and stay with GUN for more than a couple months and stay there after the new alliance glow wears off and the true reality of the work that running an alliance sets in. Which is why I think that it is probably a good thing that you're not involved with this incarnation of Star Fleet. You may prove me wrong yet. And I really hope you do because you really are too good to be as unreliable as you seem.

The Commodores are look forward to serving. Lionel has some command potential, though you may need to get him off the ceiling at some point.
Commodore Norrington will be on call as well.
Article 6: Non-Command Ranks
The other ranks are (in order of highest to lowest) Captain, Commander, Lt. Commander, Lieutenant, Ensign, and Cadet. Captains are the highest rank that can be achieved without elected or appointed. Captains are the only non-command officers that can participate in classified discussions and government votes.

Captain Kirk is always in command...always.

Good luck to you, Starfleet. :)

I imagine that Archer, Picard, Sisko, and Janeway would agree with this statement.

Hey Duncan King just so you know I refered to your alliance creation guide quite a bit( I even printed a copy of it off while writing the Charter).

So I just want to thank you for making that guide.

I'm glad someone read it.

Overall, I love the them but I think that your government format may be way too complicated. Personally, I'd use the command structure on one of the ships with the ranks going Captain, Commander, Lt., Ensign. Having as many ranks as you do and as few members as you have makes your alliance look emptier than it is because you don't have enough people to fill all ranks.

First, my apologies to Starfleet for a slight derail.

It's fine, DK. I understand where you're coming from. I'd see it the same way. Just for the record, I didn't found Blackstone or lead it. I was a member and I rose in the ranks. UNSC to GUN wasn't entirely a new alliance, either. Yes and No. We're the same guys but we changed our theme and got new forums.

I do appreciate your confidence in the past, and that's why I admit I was shocked to see your post but again, I get where you're coming from so no hard feelings. Truth is, I have been through a lot of ups and downs, [ooc]in-game and personally[/ooc], that affected my actions as a leader and the things I've done. I do have a track record that isn't what I would've wanted it to be. I owe apologies to a lot of people I've offended or wronged, and I don't blame any of them for being pissed with me.

[ooc]Lastly, I'd mention that my name changes are never something I've hidden behind. In fact, I've publicly stated each time who I was before. Each time, however, was because I'd get ready to leave the game and delete, only to return shortly thereafter and for whatever reasons that I can't explain, just decided to go with a new name.[/ooc] Well, recognizing all of this, I hope I can stay true to myself this time around and even more so to the remaining few who have held on and kept faith in me.

And on the subject of Star Fleet, I am not so regrettably once again in the situation of being in an alliance that I enjoy so I won't be beaming up this time either. If that ever changes, you might see me at your air lock. I'd be happy to help out if you needed advice but you really are in great hands with GATO

Please excuse my and Mason's old guy cane fencing match in your DoE. From our argument, you can take away that the fact that we've both been around a looooong time, that changing alliances frequently makes you look flaky, and that running an alliance is hard. But it's also very rewarding and I hope you guys do well. Not being the next big thing is okay and don't let other people's definitions of success define you. There are small alliances with strong communities and large alliances with weak ones. As long as you're happy, you're doing okay.

Article 1: Small Wars
Under no circumstance shall an officer start or provoke a war with another nation. However tech raiding is allowed, strict guidelines must be followed. Should a raid go wrong that officer will not receive Starfleet assistance. In order to become a raider the officer must apply for Admiral or Vice Admiral approval and be of rank Lt. Commander.
The first duty of every Starfleet officer is to the truth: scientific truth or historical truth or personal truth! It is the guiding principle on which Starfleet is based! If you can't find it within yourself to stand up and tell the truth, you don't deserve to wear that uniform.

He just kept talking in one long incredibly unbroken sentence moving from topic to topic so that no-one had a chance to interrupt; it was really quite hypnotic.

Good luck to you guys. A Klingon Empire theme would have been cooler IMO but whatever.
The Klingon Empire alliance has already been done, It was a Maroon alliance that disbanded about a year and a half ago. as well as another Star Trek alliance "The Federation" which still exists.
