CFB Ingloolik, 0532 Hours

"As you can see from the map, the 3rd battalion, Nunavut Regiment along with 1st Battalion and the Reconnaissance Company of the Labrador Regiment will make a stand at the green line, we expect the enemy to reach it within the day. The objective is to get them helicopter gunship and artillary support ASAP. Our direction of advance is indicated by the green arrow. The Red rings indicate estimated enemy paratrooper drop zones, and the red lines indicate the advance of enemy forces into the commonwealth. Gentlmen, we must halt the enemy advance here, the troops the vikings are transporting across Hudson Bay are expected to be here within 36 hours. Good luck." General Nathan Shepherd said to the officers gatherd in the briefing room. They shuffled out to get their battalions and companies in order, it was going to be a busy day.

***SEMI-PRIVATE*** (you know about the virus, but the meeting part is private)
St. John’s Newfoundland

The Virus had already begun to spread. Hospitals were full of people all with the same symptoms. With its rapid spread the Althing had ordered the quarantine of St. John’s, but hundreds of Thousands would still die. Anthony McGraw sat listening intently at the meeting of committees.
“The truth is we don’t know what it is, it seems to have similarities to the Ebola virus, but we don’t know. Any one of us could be infected, hence the quarantine. Casualty projections are 450,000 plus…” The co-ordinator of health, was saying.
“Do we know how this got here? Was it terrorism or biological warfare?” one of the committee members said.
“No we don’t know that yet, but I’m willing to believe that it was Blue Heaven. I propose we escalate the war, begin strategic bombing of their cities and a counter attack with Task Force Arrowhead, as well as black ops with JTF2.” McGraw said, looking around for approval.

Operation Brave Ocelot
3,000 feet above Hudson Bay

Master Corporal Michael Argall sat next to his CO near the rear door of the C-130. It was the Canadian Airborne Regiments first ever combat jump. They would parachute into the tundra around the town of Baker Lake, where they would set up defences around the Airfield and town, and await the rest of Task Force Arrowhead. The Regiment had left from CFB Wabush some 3 hours ago, they flew across Hudson Bay, where a squadron of AC-77As had moved in with GBU-27 Paveway IIIs to hit the RADAR and anti-air emplacements, opening the way for the C-130s.

OOC
Just to give you an idea, the virus is trasferred through fluid transmission, airborne in some cases ( like close quarters, hospitals and the like) and by touch.
Smallpox leaves scabs and pustules and nasty stuff over the skin which makes handling them very difficult. Moreover the agent in the airport would of affected arrivals and departures, so any internal flights have the possibility of carrying infected aswell.

Quick timeline.
0-12 hours, incubation period
13-26 hours, fever, diaherra, vommiting and rash.
26-36 hours, coma, heavy internal bleeding
36-48 hours, death

Also with a 90% mortality rating, around 10% are immune or will recover :)

Hope this information helps RPing it out.

OFFICAL ANNOUNCEMT FROM THE COMMONWEALTH OF CANADA

Recently, a mysterious illness has swept thrugh the city of St. John's. We recently located its source. It is a biological weapon released in St. John's International Airport and a metro station. As a resault, we urge all nations to cancel flights from the Commonwealth of Canada, and quarrentine anyone who arrived before 6th April and a list of syptoms will be provided(ooc: see zoots post) to all concerned governments. In responce to this dispicable attack, which could only have come from Blue Heaven, we are now implamenting a policy of 'Total War'.

***CLASSIFIED***

Althing has approved the move to total war. A project to create advanced stealth bombers has begun(ooc: after inspection of wikipedia, it seems the B-2 was invented in the 80s), expected to be ready within 2 months. Also Black Operations with JTF2 have been authorised to begin.

-----------------------

Mere minutes after the announcment, 5 AC-77A multirole stealth fighters took off from CFB Goose Bay, they each carried 8 Mark 77 Napalm bombs, their target was the Blue Heaven capitol. Orders were to inflict maximum damage to the industrial and government buildings, and aslittle damage to the civilian areas as possible.

Response to the Canadian accusation:

Roger Smith came on the screen.

"These attacks are nothing but false. We invite any and all investigation teams to come in. We will be more than happy to show that we have no records of any covert operations missions. How could we have gotten that deep into the Commonwealth when there is still fighting on the border? We don't even have a chemical weapons program! If we sent spies in by air or sea, they'd have been picked up as enemy radar would have detected them as they were entering the Commonwealth. And even if a spy did get that deep into the Commonwealth, how on earth would they have been able to release a virus with heightened up security?

Nothing here adds up at all."

Official Statement from the Commonwealth of England and Maine

We condemn this cowardly use of biological weaponry in your war against the Commonwealth of Canada. Of course you are going to blank faced lie about such an accusation Ms Smith. As for being picked up on radar, Blue Heaven is one to talk. This entire war was started because you failed to detect an enemy warplane on your radar, who is to say you did not return the favour.

For the usage of biological weaponry against a civilian center, The Commonwealth enact the following against Blue Heaven.
-Full economic sanctions.
-An arms embargo.
-If any Blue Heaven ships are detected by British warships, they will be boarded and held in England or Maine until your wars end.
-All Blue Heaven citizens, if any, in Maine or England will be detained until your wars end.
-Continued usage of such horrific weapons will result in further action taken by the Commonwealth of England and Maine.

RESPONCE TO THE BLUE HEAVEN RESPONCE:

"Who else would attack us in such a manner, and there are may ways to avoid RADAR systems, how do we know you simpily didn't fly bellow RADAR range, and insert an agent that way? WE WILL step up our campagin and we will bring those who ordered this disgusting attack to justice, for all the innocent people who have died."

Midwest Republic is at DEFCON 1, enacting martial laws and quarantines. We have confirmed several cases of infected individuals bleeding out in Chicago and possibly more infected. We do not have a centralized medical research department to coordinate the disease identification, control and treatment. We will need medical assistance if the disease become out of control.

Operation Brave Ocelot
3,000 feet above Blue Heave, 0126 Hours

A red light glared in the dark cabin. “OKAY GET READY!” the CO called to the men in the C-130, shouting above the roar of the engines. “STAND UP! HOOK UP! GEAR CHEACK!” the men doubled checked the gear of the man in from of the, making sure everything was secure.

“14 okay! 13 okay! 12 okay! 11 okay! 10 okay! 9 okay! 8 okay! 7, okay! 6 okay! 5 okay! 4 okay! 3 okay! 2 okay! 1 okay!” Came the call down the Hercules, the crew opened the side doors, and looked out over the dark landscape.
“30 seconds till drop!” they called, as the Argall looked around the nervous faces of them. The light flicked green, “OKAY GO, GO, GO!” they called as the men shuffled out the door, as they jumped the static line opened their chute, they fell to the ground within minutes. Argall was the first out the door. The cute opened with a jolt pulling him up. He looked over to the lights of the town; no doubt they would have heard the cargo planes flying overhead. Argall hit the ground with a thud. He knew what he had to do. Get his jump gear off and stowed, rally with his squad and proceed to the airport.

Argall readied his C7A2 rifle, put on a pair of NVGs and surveyed the area. After the platoon rallied on the CO, they proceeded to the airport; ‘Alpha’ company would clear the airport of civilians and prepare the terminal for use as an F.O.B., while ‘Bravo’ and ‘Charlie’ company would scout the area. It was up to 2nd and 3rd Battalions to secure the town. The most trouble they were expecting was from some disgruntled local civilians, as the whole Blue Heaven army was reported to be part of the invasion. “Okay men, we need to keep watch on the area around the airport. So I want slit trenches with overlapping fields of fire, and sandbags. In the morning well work on something a little more permanent. We expect the lead elements of the Labrador Regiment to be here within 26 hours.”

Operation Canuck Storm
CFB Ingloolik, 0723 Hours

With the Armoured Regiments, the Canadian Dragoons and the Newfoundland Regiment now deployed by the Vikings, OPERATION CANUCK STORM could begin. The three regiments would move down the highways to link up with the Labrador, the Aviation, the Artillary and the Nunavut Regiments at the "Green Line". With the Blue Heaven forces never attacking the line, it was persumed th advance had stopped and it had been decided to take the fight to the enemy. An armoured push to the Blue Heaven border and then deeper into enemy territory to link up with Task Force Arrowhead, whose paratroopers had already landed behind enemy lines.

The Vikings land as well, and they decide to cautiously position themselves behind the "green line", behind the Canadian Formations. They are seen with a most disparate assortment of deadly material and vehicles, like the ancient hordes, most use no standard whatsoever. But all of them look fierce, much fierce than most of those civilized soldiers out there. They send forth some armored vehicles and technicals to serve as recon vehicles, and they communicate to the Canadian forces.

OOC: Sorry I have not posted in a while I have been busy

IC:

As soon as the planes were seen, 15 F-22 Raptors attacked the enemy planes.

On the ground, the 3rd Infantry fell back and would wait for the enemy to come into the city of Oden, which was 10 miles from the airfield that the enemy had recently took. They would barricade Oden and wait for the enemy to come. In the meanwhile, the 10th Airborne would parachute themselves into Oden to back up their allies. They dug trenches that could withstand artillery attacks and set up mines about 5 miles from their location. The 1st and 2nd Infantry Divisions, however, would continue their push into the Commonwealth. They would quickly take any available strategic towns and continue on, leaving about 200 soldiers to occupy the town and gather up any weapons the civilians might have. Also the soldiers barricaded the town in all directions and put explosives on all bridges and roads as to either destroy them or cause such damage as to make them impassable. The rest of the 1st and 2nd Infantry Divisions would continue onward until they hit 200 miles into the Commonwealth. Once that occurred, the remaining elements would dig in and fight.

The planes on their way to Starwind Province would be find a total of 60 F-16s waiting for them.

"Considering the simple fact that we can not imagine any nation to be so foolish to use biological weapons on a bordering nation we urge all sides to maintain restraint. The attack with biological weapons was terrible however loss of life in Blue Heaven must be avoided until it can be said beyond reasonable doubt they are responsible for the attacks. That said all flights coming from and going to North America have been cancelled and all tourists originating 1000 miles around Canada will be placed in quarantine."

Operation Canuck Storm
"Green Line", Nunavut, Canada
0732 Hours

The Tanks began to roll out along the tundra, their advance was slower than hoped, as they had to dodge the numerous small lakes and ponds that dotted the landscape. Following the Tanks were the LAVs and AVGPs of the Canadain Dragoons, and following them were the Coyote MRAPs of the Newfoundland Regiment. Flying high over the formations was the Labrador Regiment, on their CH-146 Griffon and Apache Longbows. The Canadian Army was ready for a Blitzkrieg. They were expecting to make contact with the enemy with the day, if the weather stayed good.

Operation Brave Ocelot
Baker Lake, Blue Haven,
0924 Hours

When morning came to the paratroopers at Baker lake, it brought bad news with them. The regiments CO, along with 28 soldiers were killed when their C-130s were shot down. not only that but much of the regiments ammunition and supplies had also been hit, it was now up to the next flight of C-130s to re-supply them, as well as deploying the Labrador Dragoons.
Operation Canuck Storm
approximatly 60 kilomtres east of the "Green Line"
Nunavut, 1385 Hours

The Reconnaissance companies of the Canadian Dragoons and the Labrador Regiment, and located the Blue Heaven positions about an hour ago, and now the Forces were forming up. Although outnumbered by the Blue Heaven airborne forces, the Canadians had the advantage of Air superioority in the area, as well as armoured support. ADATS vehicles had set up in areas, and Patriot SAM systems had deployed, along with 5 batteries, of 6 M198 Howitzers each, had deployed to provide fire support. The attack began with a barrage from the artillary, as well as air strikes using CBU-87 cluster bombs. This was followed by advancing tanks, mechanised infantry with AVGP support, LAVs and footmobile Infantry. Apache and Kiowa helcopters patroled overhead providing support to the advancing ground forces. The goal was to completly decimate the Blue Heaven forces, forcing a retreat.

When the Vikings noticed that their main target at the moment seemed to be around a city called "Oden", scandinavian for Odin, they took this as a good omen, one that spoke of victory. And they move forwards, taking the northern flank as the route of choice and detaching themselves from the Canadian forces. The armored vehicles, some of which are MBTs, move first, and the various artillery pieces take different spots to begin bombarding enemy forces from. The attack begins when the first coordinated artillery shells are fired, the Viking's vehicles move forth and the Infantry proper - including, strangely, a few kevlar-covered calvary units and even some Tachankas - follow them, ready to put pressure on the foe.

Although the forces of OPERATION CANUCK STORM had taken heavy caualties, they continued to push on to Oden. Once they reached the city, they would surround it and make ready for an assault combining the forces of OPERATION CANUCK STORM and OPERATION BRVAE OCELOT.

The Vikings, who had chosen to attack Oden's flank even before the Canadian troops had done so had faced little resistence, in fact, the enemy didn't seem to have bothered to reply at all and they could see them starting to retreat. Apparently, they had negotiated some sort of ceasefire with the Canadians. The Vikings were in no hurry to honor this, therefore they continued to attack for a few more hours after the Ceasefire had been declared, hopefully they might be able to take some prisoners. They could already see the town in the horizon...but they soon feel that their window of opportunity had finished, and begin to orderly withdraw to behind the Canadian "Green Line", having stated that they only belatedly did receive news of the ceasefire.
