The construction consumables of Cement, structural steel would show increasing demands as the construction on various parts of the base progressed at a brisk pace, however the light bulbs and wind mills would be politely refused. For the 24 hour work cycles, special arc lights are functioning which have been brought all the way from Cochin and for the temporary power uses, erection of wind turbines would be more of a hindrance than an asset. Besides this base would soon have its own independent power station with a TROPS Thorium power plant. The consumables would also be eagerly accepted with the water and medical supplies the most cherished. The freeze dried rations would be politely refused as such combat rations are not what is required during a construction initiative like this. Orders would be placed for vast quantities of food grains, vegetables, meat and dairy products which would be processed, cooked and distributed by the Field caterers of QMC. Similarly the offer of grain seeds would also be politely refused as it would be a waste of time and precious resources for the Corps of Engineers to devote at least a portion of the Barra Island for agricultural activity. While local food products are being sourced out, regular cargo ships are coming all the way from Cochin to provide the engineer soldiers with a regular dose of their home delicacies. king of cochin Posted April 17, 2011 Report Share Posted April 17, 2011 As the work on the Fort Anchengo is briskly progressing, the officials of the Cochin Chamber of Commerce would also get in touch with the United States of the Islands government to discuss the modalities on establishment of the Cochin Special Economic Zone. Soon after the construction of the Fort Anchengo is completed the work on Cochin SEZ would seek to start with even more of the construction contracted out to local builders in USI. Quite a large number of Cochin companies have expressed interest in opening up corporate branches and manufacturing plants in the Cochin SEZ in the United States of the Islands thus investing billions of Cochin Rupees into the USI economy. If they were more along the lines of buisness then they would be better off around New Dublin; but if they were more along the lines of manufacturing perhaps a SEZ would be more favorable around Douglas or in one of the larger cities in the North. king of cochin Posted May 4, 2011 Report Share Posted May 4, 2011 The Forward Air Base Barra has become marginally operable with two of the three heavy duty airstrips ready for operation and the work on the third air strip and the rest of base facilities progressing at a brisk pace. The work on Naval Station Anchengo also crossed a major milestone as the port and harbor facilities were completed ahead of schedule with the rest of base structures and infrastructures being developed now. With the completion of basic logistical facilities the pace of work on the Fort Anchengo has sped up with the vital materials now being directly offloaded at Naval Station Anchengo and the FAB Barra. With the construction nearing completion the prepositioned equipment for the Camp Barra are also being organized in Cochin. Meanwhile the Cochin Chamber of Commerce once again asked the United States of the Islands for the clearance for the Cochin Special Economic Zone to be started. ETPL also plans to manufacture a large range of sensor suites for various home and industrial security systems as well as defense systems from the proposed plant in the SEZ. Cochin Chamber of Commerce while thanking the United States of the Islands for the clearance on the industrial sector also requests clearance for the Corporate Enclave proposed earlier. The Corporate Enclave would be separate from the Cochin Special Economic Zone and would be potentially near an urban area for better functionality. As the largest chemical manufacturer in South Asia, Fertilizers and Chemicals Travancore or FACT seeks to use its Corporate branch in USI to seek an entry into the chemical market of Europe. This would not be a manufacturing facility, but a Corporate liaison and Business Development Office. Kohinoor Rare Earths Limited, the global mineral extraction giant hopes to use its offices at the Corporate Enclave to market its variety of products into European markets as well as a platform to explore new contracts for exploration and mineral exploitation. Maelstrom Inc, a high tech defense sector company seeks to use its offices to better market its range of weaponry and defense systems to European markets. Gosree Aeronautics Limited, as one of the largest aviation companies in the world, GAL hopes to use its offices at the Corporate Enclave to better project itself into the European and North American markets. Varuna Mercantile Limited, one of the world's largest maritime fleet movers hopes to develop a regional transportation hub from the Port Anchengo in Fort Anchengo and use its offices at the Corporate Enclave to win more transportation businesses in the sector. The work on the Cochin Special Economic Zone and Corporate Enclave has been started and basic corporate operations would begin within a couple of months. Majestic Hospitalities has been awarded the contracted to facilitate immediate setting up of ad hoc corporate facilities at the enclave as DLF Universal and TP Balagopalan Associates has won most of the contracts to set up the skyscrapers of the Corporate Enclave proper. king of cochin Posted May 23, 2011 Report Share Posted May 23, 2011 (edited) With the Fort Anchengo nearing completion the permanent duty garrison of the newest military base of Royal Cochin Defense Forces has been decided. The 3rd Marine Division aka Marakkar's Marines commanded by Brigadier General Taufiq Ali has been selected as the garrison force to be stationed at Fort Anchengo. The 3rd Marine Division which is currently stationed at Kavaratti would now have as its Regimental Headquarters Camp Barra in Fort Anchengo on Barra Island of the United States of the Islands. The entire Division is now being sealifted from its former base in Kavaratti to its new home by the Auxiliary Support Fleet of Royal Cochin Navy. Following it would be the helicopter carrier CNS Rokossovsky commanded by Lieutenant Commander Sreyas Chaudhary, the principal Combat Support vessel for the Marine Division, as well as CNS Horemheb, the Kavaratti class cruiser commanded by Commander Charles Pereira and the newly raised MB11 squadron of Karachi Class Missile Boats commanded by Lieutenant Commander Ludwig Kahn. To support this force Royal Cochin Navy has also assigned a Carrier Task Force to be home based at the Naval Station Anchengo. The Carrier Task Force would compose of CNS Malabar commanded by Rear Admiral Meenaxi Saxena and the following ships: destroyer CNS Bhishma (DS07), frigates CNS Guderian (FR02) and CNS Konev (FR03), cruiser CNS Yamamato (CR02), Arsenal Ships CNS Attila (AS06), CNS Akbar (AS08), Attack Submarines CNS Ashtamudi (SY13) and CNS Theckady (SY14) and corvettes CNS Urumi (CV06) and CNS Khadga (CV05). They would be augmented by the two newest Yankee class Attack Submarines that are being commissioned by Royal Cochin Navy. The air complement would be the Global Strike Force, GSF202 that is already operational at the Forward Air Base Barra. GSF202 is composed of : RD0204,05,06, RS0304,05,06, RM0507-12, RF11B, HB0504,05,06, MR02004,05,06, GN0103-04 and HB3113-24 and the 902th Battalion (SF) Strategic Air Defense Command has also started the construction of Barra Air Defense Network to provide comprehensive Air Defense protection to Barra and United States of the Islands. The warships that had been deployed to the Isle of Mann for deterrence duties as well as the Missile Boats of the MB11 squadron would immediately return to Naval Station Anchengo. The Third Marine Division except for its fourth brigade would embark upon its transport vessels for immediate redeployment. The 4/3MAR would provide Garrison Security for the base for the duration of an year. The Auxiliary Support Fleet units stationed at various naval bases and ports of the Kingdom have already started steaming towards Barra for the massive redeployment. The first units to leave Fort Anchengo would be the the prepositioned Division Equipments at Camp Barra followed by the complete decommission of the sensitive military technologies, especially Barra Air Defense Network installed at Fort Anchengo to be accomplished by a battalion of engineers from the Corps of Engineers. Along with this the massive armory and the fuel storage tanks established at Camp Barra would be completely emptied. As the last brigade of the 3rd Marine Division embark for the return to Cochin the GSF202 would oversee the complete dismantling of Fort Anchengo. At the end of the year long decommissioning GSF202 would be the last to leave escorting the Royal Cochin Navy Carrier Task Force commanded by CNS Malabar, who had considered Naval Station Anchengo as their home port for the duration of their duty in the British Isles. The fighter pilots of the GSF202 are given explicit instructions not to venture more than 20 NMs from FAB Barra. RCN's Air defense warships have also lighted up their defenses to take over from the Barra Air Defense Network which is being dismantled to provide Air Defense for the Fort Anchengo from any attacks by European nations during the withdrawal process. As the engineer soldiers from the Corps of Engineers are arriving in a aerial convoy of Halobs, the resident engineers of Fort Anchengo are gearing up for the massive decommissioning project. A massive fleet of ASF and other chartered freighters have started on an almost 13000 NM sail from Cochin to Barra Island to facilitate the withdrawal of forces. Over a period of hours some of the most powerful of weapon systems in the armory were rigged to the most sensitive of the prepositioned equipments. With the preparations been done the last of the soldiers of Fort Anchengo would board GH44s to fly to the Royal Cochin Navy warships which had already started sailing to the Atlantic Ocean. As the last RCN warship went beyond 50 Nautical Miles from Barra, the detonation would be triggered and the whole of the Island of Barra would be rocked by an explosion whose cumulative yield would in tens of kilotons.
