PresidentDavid
President David Anthony O'Reilly sat outside on the beach of his small private island. It contained his private home and a wonderful view of the ocean. It was only accessible by boat or helicopter if you could rope down to the roof. The sun was on it's way down but it still had a ways to go. It was about 17:45 and Susan walked out to him on the small beach with a cup of hot chocolate, "Here you go honey... So I looked into those nations like you asked me to and-" David sighed, "Do we have to talk about politics right now?" Susan sat on his lap and put a hand on his cheek, "Please?" David almost dropped the hot chocolate she handed him, "Su- sure.. Continue." Susan took out a few papers. "I have a list of nations we should increase our relations with - or at least try. The Kingdom of Cochin is on the list.. It is near the top." David looked at Susan a little funny, "That is on the other side of the planet Susan. What kind of advantage will they give us?" Susan moved a little hair out of her face, "You don't understand David. They are a stable nation. A nation that is like a global force for good. Sure they are allied with a commie' nation or two but you know they fought off and executed their communists just like we did. Plus do you know how strong the Kingdom is? David it is one of the strongest capitalist nations on the planet." David hesitated as little and glared at a bird flying by because it nearly defecated in his chocolate, "What would they want with us? We are so small. Would they take advantage of us? What would Ireland think of this?" Susan shrugged, "There is not much they could do to us and David - really? David what are you?" David sipped his coffee and avoided eye contact, "The President." Susan laughed, "The President of The United States does not need permission to make it's own decisions David. Go ahead and make one." A message was sent to the King of Cochin, "King Kerala Varma, The United States of The Islands is interested in creating political and economic relations with the Kingdom of Cochin. If you would like to create talks and a place where we could meet then please send a reply. The President of The United States of The Islands, David Anthony O'Reilly"

king of cochin
Though he had been to London several times on official and personal capacities, this was his first visit to the more northern territories of the British Isles. The sleep he had managed to accomplish during the flight ensured that KP Varma was fresh enough to cordially accept the greetings by President O'Reilly. "Greetings, President. I hope your nation is well?"
PresidentDavid
"Very much Mr. Minister. Welcome to the United States of The Islands." The President shook the Minister's hand and brought him to the presidential motorcade. Upon arriving to the Orange House the National Guard escorted the President and Minister across the front lawn and into the building. The bottom floor of the Orange House usually had many people walking around and going upon their every day jobs however today the President made sure it would be clear to give the Minister a good impression. David was guiding the Minister to the Round Room (the President's Private Office) when Áine stopped dead in her tracks and looked at the two men. She wasn't supposed to be seen by anyone out of the Orange House unless David or Robert specified however she didn't know David and the Minister would be this early. "Mr. Minister this is.. um..." a bead of sweet rolled down David's neck while he looked at Áine for guidance. "Daughter... I am your daughter. Silly father.." David swallowed the truth, "Yes um Mr. Minister this is my daughter Áine. I um." Áine continued the sentence, "Father adopted me... I was born in Ireland." President David nodded, "Yes. Well daughter I am on important buisness here. I'll see you for dinner sweetheart. David kissed Áine on the forehead and whispered, "Thank you." Áine pushed a little bit of her natural blue-green bangs and blue hair out of her face and quickly scampered by the minister, "Nice to meet you Minister Varma.." Áine scurried away and David wanted to slap himself because the Minister never told her his name but he hopefully wouldn't notice. David quickly brought the Minister to the Round Room, "Please take a seat Mr. Minister. We have much to discuss." king of cochin
The President's daughter was quite charming and exuberant and that rare color of her hair and eyes still made her quite more remarkable. As far as the matter of addressing him by his name was concerned KP Varma was unperturbed as he assumed she must have heard about his arrival from others in the Orange House. "Quite a charming daughter you have, President O'Reilly. So what is it that you wish to discuss with the Kingdom, Sir?" KP Varma asked. PresidentDavid
"Thank you Mr. Minister... She is a joy. I also want to thank you for flying all the way from The Kingdom to talk to me in person. I guess I will just cut to the chase and tell you why I needed a representative from Cochin. The United States would like to extend full diplomatic relations - that being economic and military - with the Kingdom of Cochin. Infact, I am willing to rent an area for you to construct a military facility in the southern Western Isles if you would be willing to let the United States have one in Cochin. But back to the original point, would your King be interested in a relationship with the United States?" king of cochin
"The Kingdom has been pondering over establishment of military and diplomatic relations with North Atlantic region and yes, the United States of the Islands would indeed be a worthy ally. Assuring the defense of an ally invariable requires the capability to project one's power towards one's ally's region. So in order to be able to defend you, we would of course have to station necessary men and material near your nation. Towards such an end the offer of renting an area to be a military base would be excellent. Similarly we would be offering the United States a military base in Cochin so that you may be able to defend us in our time of need. We also hope that along with this military cooperation we would also be able to engage in economic cooperation? We look forward to establishing Special Economic Zones which would be manufacturing and industrial hub using which we would have better economic and trade access to European markets." king of cochin
With the alliance between Kingdom of Cochin and the United States of the Islands confirmed things started moving faster. The following installations would be built in the island of Barra to form the military base, which would be christened Fort Anchengo. king of cochin
The work on Fort Anchengo has started with the work on Naval Station Anchengo and Forward Air Base Barra being started first. One full brigade each are working on the two projects simultaneously with the a third brigade overseeing the logistical and material management. The fourth brigade is preparing the ground for the Camp Barra, Barra Air Defense Network and the support facilities for Naval Station Anchengo and FAB Barra. A literal army of trucks has been brought to the island by the Corps of Engineers along with support barges and other logistical equipments. However a lot more trucks and barges are also being contracted out to firms in the region. Massive orders would also be placed for cement, structural steel and other construction equipment with manufacturers in USI, UK and Commonwealth. The work is going on in an expedited manner with some of the high technology elements being constructed in Cochin and being flown to Barra. The Fort Anchengo is expected to become marginally operable by the end of the year and fully commissioned after another 6 months.

PresidentDavid
Thousands of Islanders, mostly men, jumped to work and get into once abandoned factories to start work on such a large scale project. With the thousands of men and women already making local products for the Islands, many of them have switched over for manufacturing which means several small buisness have springing up to begin supplying the goods for local needs of the Islands. The unemployment rate has dropped 4% and is still dropping as thousands of people flock for jobs in such optimistic times.
